Arriving at the gym, you could hear the volleyballs being tossed around and the squeaks of shoes creasing the gym floor. Opening the door, your brother nods for you to go inside first. You take in a deep breath and walk inside. Hearing the door open, Lev is the first one to turn his head towards your direction. He brightly smiles and waves his hands around the air to get your attention, later getting hit in the head by a volleyball. You laugh at him and wave slightly to the rest of the team. Kuroo went to go change so you walked to sit down on the bleachers.
"Hey Y/n! Glad to have you back! We haven't seen you at practice for a while.." Lev approaches you, rubbing his head from the impact of the ball.
You settle your bag down next to you and look up at Lev, feeling a bit overwhelmed by his height. "Yeah, sorry about that. I usually go straight home and take a nap. But, a certain bed head dragged me here."
Lev tilts his head and sits down next to you, "Sorry! I forgot you get nervous when I'm standing in front of you like this!" You nod and start playing with your fingers. Lev notices and whispers to you, "Are you nervous about the practice match?"
You stop your actions and look at him confused, "..A practice match?" He nods and then realizes that you didn't know what he was talking about. He nervously laughs as he sees Yaku approach you two, "I guess Kuroo didn't tell you..?"
Before you could ask him what he meant, Yaku yanks Lev's collar pulling him down, "What're you doing?! We're gonna have a practice match soon, and you're sitting here doing nothing!!" Yaku widens his eyes as he just took notice of your presence.
The reason they tried to keep their mouth shut was to prevent you from getting anxious. Ever since schools started joining in for practice matches with Nekoma, you hate being in large crowds. Even though the rival teams didn't know who you are, or even bothered to know who you are, you felt the need to hide yourself. You thought that they would talk about you just like they do here in Nekoma. This was why you stopped showing up to Kuroo's practices.
Letting go of Lev, Yaku immediately tends to you. "I'm sorry Y/n. I thought Kuroo told you.." he rubs your shoulder.
You look down at your lap and shake your head, "It's fine, he must have a reason not to. Maybe he wants me to overcome my fear of large crowds.." Lev and Yaku stare at each other sadly.
"Hey! What did you two do to our awesome cheerleader!" You three look up to see Yamamoto stomping towards the other two boys. The duo shake their hands in attempt to stop the troublemaker from stepping any closer.
You ignore the three of them and start getting your things out from your bag. Taking your notebook out, you thought it is best to finish your schoolwork early and study for a test. As much as you wanted to go home to sleep instead of being here, this gave you an opportunity to keep you busy and to focus on something else. The three boys took notice of your actions and slowly walked away, not wanting to bother you any longer.
Coach Nekomata blows his whistle, getting the team to gather around him. He greets the boys and turns around to smile at you, "Glad to have you back Y/n! The boys were worried that you weren't going to be here to cheer them on!"
You softly smile and nod at him. Coach Nekomata then turns his attention back to his team. "Alright boys, as you all know Fukurodani are invited for a practice match with us. Just like with all the previous schools, treat them with respect and make them feel welcome..."
You didn't know why the team wants you here in the first place, you don't even pay attention to what they're doing. It's like, they love having your presence around them, even if you're not doing anything to show them you care. Maybe they like having a girl around them? Maybe they feel more special when you sit on the sidelines, minding your own business. Maybe they feel safe and a sense of comfort when you're around.
Scribbling down your study guide, your thoughts are interrupted by the gym doors opening and being slammed loudly against the wall, followed by an energetic loud voice, "HEY HEY HEY!!".
You avert your eyes towards the loud sound, finally locking eyes with the one responsible, you scowl mentally and turn your attention back to your notebook.

Akaashi was constantly apologizing to Kuroo and his team for Bokuto's loud behavior. Meanwhile Bokuto was greeting everyone he saw. The coaches of each team were talking to one another, while the players were getting some stretches in.
Feeling the need to hide yourself you scoot back so you're sitting with your butt on the floor, with your feet up the bleachers (Like putting your knees up to your chest, but on the bleachers. If that makes sense 0-0). You slightly cover your face with your notebook, but then catch Kuroo glaring at you. Looking at his cold stare sent shivers down your spine. You never enjoyed your brother stare at you so seriously.
Letting out an exhale, you sit back up, your notebook on your lap. You look at Kuroo again for his "approval", and he gives you a thumbs up while smiling. You catch Kenma softly smile at you, mentally telling you to not hide yourself this time. Knowing what he was thinking, you nod at him. Focusing back to your attention on your study guide, you start working on it.
While Bokuto was finished doing his stretches, he was observing the other team. Looking around more, he spots a girl sitting on the bleachers, and it looked like she was reading a book or something. Bokuto observed her more, staring at every single detail of her body. She looks so fragile, but strong at the same time. Staring at the way she flipped the pages, made Bokuto feel all weird inside.
Realizing that his captain and ace was being unusually quiet, Akaashi shakes Bokuto's shoulders to break him out of his trance. "Bokuto, are you okay?"
Bokuto blinks and smiles at Akaashi, "Hey Akaashi, that girl over there," he points towards you. "She's really pretty isn't she?" Akaashi looks at where Bokuto was pointing, seeing you write down on a notebook. He assumed that you were the manager of Nekoma. He then puts Bokuto's hand down, "Bokuto, it's not okay to point at people.."
The owl head starts combing his hair and styling it in a weird way, giving his teammates odd stares. "Do you think she will notice me?" He tells his friend, "Oh who am I kidding?! Of course she will, I am the ace after all!"
The mom of Fukurodani sighs and rubs his face, "The match is about to start. Get ready Bokuto, or else she won't notice you.." Bokuto immediately obeys and gets ready for the match to begin. Hoping that he will at least get your attention by landing one of his awesome spikes.
