Now we finally get to my favorite class, Advanced Battling. Not only was it my favorite subject, but I also had it with all my friends. Unfortunately, I also had it with Gary. Today, instead of continuing to watch past Hoenn League finals, we did a set of Double Battles. I paired up with Emilee, and we were up against Jeremiah Gabite and, unfortunately, Gary.

It soon dawned on me that this was how he was going to get me back, and with Jeremiah being one of the few people in the school who could use Earthquake, the pairing made perfect sense. Gary was going to try and beat me, as well as get back at me for calling him out on only having Levitate. When the battles started, Emilee suddenly fell to the ground shuddering. "What's wrong, Emilee," I asked. "Nothing, it's nothing, just take Gary out, and fast!"

The first turn, I immediately saw why. After Emilee used Helping Hand on me, I learned Gary was rocking Dazzling Gleam, a Fairy-type move. Not good, as he has a move super effective against me! He used it, and though I took a lot of damage, I wasn't down yet. Next, I jumped into the air, and crunched down on Gary, sending him sprawling to the ground, knocked out.

It wasn't all good, however, as Emilee was knocked out by a Dragon Claw from Jeremiah. That was the first time that Emilee had been knocked out with me by her side, and the rage I felt was immense. I ran towards Jeremiah and tackled him something fierce. He might of even been knocked out just by seeing me move so fast. Nevertheless, I won the battle, I beat Gary, and I fainted from fatigue after jumping in the air in celebration.

I woke up to Emilee's face. She had been given a Max Revive by Mr. Stells, the Aggron who taught Advanced Battling. "Hey, you're awake! Hey, Mr. Stells was convinced by someone to record the battles," she said. "Who would ask for that?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe the one who you outpaced in battling genetics. Maybe the one you humiliated during passing period. And maybe the one who learned a new move just to counter you." Gary's plan finally comes together, but backfires heavily.

"Also, great use of my usual strategy! I never knew you could use Retaliate!" "What, strategy, Retaliate?" "Don't worry. I'll explain it. Retaliate is a move that doubles in power after an ally faints the previous turn. I normally use it when you jump into action and get knocked out for it. That's my way of cleaning up the match," she said. "That was a great battle," said Mr. Stells. "I would like to use part of it in a promotional video for the new Battling Club, and was wondering if you wanted to join, and if I had your permission."

"Yes, to both.", I said. "Yes to both of them.", Emilee said. "Alright then! Come to the stadium after school so that we can practice new strategies. After that, we went to study hall while talking about our battles. "I used Magnet Rise to protect my partner, Brycen Magnemite, from an Earthquake, but we still lost in the end when the Magnet Rise wore off.", Haylee said. "Josh and I won with flying colors. It was incredibly easy.", Joey said.

"So, Emilee, why did you fall to the ground shuddering?" "Well, in Battling Sciences, Mr. Dennis said that I had my hidden ability, Anticipation, which makes me shudder when my opponent has a move that is super effective against me. But it activated because Gary had a Fairy-Type move, when you're the one weak to fairies." "Strange, maybe the bond between us made your ability look out for me! Or maybe Gary had Focus Blast, I don't know." In Seminar, we watched some videos, as it was a Friday, and then after school, Emilee and I went to practice with Mr. Stells.

Surprisingly enough, Mr. Dennis was there too! "You can't be ganging up on Mr. Stells now!", said Mr. Dennis. "That's not very fair!" So we practiced, and practiced, and practiced, until I missed my Protect and got hit hard. I was fainted for a bit, but woke up to a bad sight. Emilee used Retaliate on Mr. Dennis, as I was technically knocked out, but it didn't work, and she almost got countered. Luckily, I rushed in front of the Counter, blocked the hit without using Protect, and blacked out from the force of the hit.
