"One is the world was full of wonders, but it belongs to the humans now. We creatures have all but disappeared-Demons, vampires and witches... hiding in plain sight, I'll with ease, even with each other. But as my father used to say, in every ending there is a new beginning."

Oxford,England (millenniums later)

Diana bishop was ridding her bike to work, steadily she rode it, being careful as it was quite wind and did not want to lose concentration. She arrived within 15 minutes to her destination.

Diana placed herself off the bike but clumsily knocked her work on the ground, the papers getting stolen by the wind. With a burst of accidental magic she got all the papers back in their order.

"Good morning, Diana" a voice spoke behind her

Diana turned around to see her friend, Medea. She smiled and said the same.

"Is your presentation ready?"

"Yes, well almost"

"I look forward to seeing it"

~Time skip~

Diana started to talk about her research.
"Alchemy in the 17th century alchemy was at the heart of the study of nature and a precursor to modern chemistry......Death, all parts of the natural world be they animate or inanimate were believed to experience these stages.....Although these images were often interpreted as allegory they actually represent the chemical process......Through the access to the bodily and library's collection of unique manuscript owned by Elias Asheville the 17th century antiquarian astrologer and alchemist. I will continue to explore the role that alchemy had in 17th century thought and how it influenced great scientists such as Isaac Newton and Robert Boyle, thank you"

Claps were heard in the background.

"That was brilliant, Diana" Medea said while walking up to her. Another person started to walk behind her and said to them "She is right, you know"

"Gillian Chamberlain, what are you doing here?" Diana spoke hugging the girl.

"It's good to see you again, Gillian" Medea called to her, giving her a small smile.

"You too Medea, coffee anyone?"

"Of course" both girls replied.

Coffee shop

"So how's Oxford" Medea asked

"Well I'm still not part of the facility, there's no vacancy for a classical history but apart from that it's great. So what about yous?"

"Nothing much from me I'm taking a break. I have recently finished my thesis on the mythology of Greeks so I'm staying with Diana" Medea answered

"We have only arrived about a week ago and still haven't unpacked" Diana said

"The coven is gathering, yous two should come"

"I think I'll pass"

"I'm still not very comfortable around magic since my parents so I'll pass too" Diana spoke

"But don't you still use magic, Diana"

"Not really, I'm like a walking disaster. I accidentally used my powers today in public someone could have saw"

"Diana I think I will see if I can add anything to my Greek mythology research while I'm here" Medea told her as she went to look at the Mythology section in the library

"Ok"

"Diana I'll be in the reception if you need anything" Gillian told her and walked away

Diana asked to get the Ashm manuscripts. the first one she opened was 782, it had a picture in the first page. The lights started to flicker as she turned more pages.

Elsewhere vampires were starting to feel their blood reacting to something. Also a certain mistress of death felt it as well.

The words from the book started to crawl up her hand like a parasite then suddenly it burned her causing her to slam the book shut.

Diana walked out of the library and left the place Gillian and Medea run up to her and asked if she was all right. Diana said to them that she wanted to go home.

Medea turned to Gillian and apologised to her saying that she was going to go with her and that she would have coffee another time.
Gillian gave a nod of understanding.
Diana and Gillian where on the where that there was a pair of eyes watching them however Medea wasn't she turned round to look at them and glared at the man, He gave a look of interest at her.

Meanwhile an accident occurred, a vampire tried to save his friend by turning him but it didn't work.

"Diana what happened?" Questioned Medea

Diana then started to explain what happened at the library with the book

"What is the book's name?"

"Ashm 782"

"I think we should both go to bed and deal with this tomorrow"

"Agreed"

Medea walked into her room and Murmured under her breath "shit"

~Next day~
Diana was on the phone to her aunt talking about the book and what happened. She then went back to the library to continue her research while Medea did her own thing as it was supposed to be on a break.

"Diana I brought food" called Medea walking into the library with a bag of goodies

"I'll get some in a minute but first I need to get a book" she said accidentally summing the book but instead of it going in her hands it went to a mans. The same mans from yesterday.

"I thought witches weren't allowed to use magic in public" he spoke

"It was an accident" she replied

"Not in-control"

"Of course she is"  Medea said, he turned around to face her green eyes brooding into his, challenging him.

"And you are?"

"Medea and will you please stop bothering Diana"

"I'm afraid I can't do that as she has something I want"

"The book"

"Yes"

"I don't have it anymore" Diana spoke, cutting in.

"Where is it then?"

"Were all other books are"

"Ashm manuscript 782 hasn't been seen in centuries and yet it was found by you aren't you at least a bit curious as to why?"

"No, come on Medea" Diana said as she left with Medea leaving the vampire behind.

They both decided to go in the boats to release the stress that was building up. The sun soon fell as it turned night. Both women finished up and headed to put their boats away.

"Rowing in the night is dangerous especially you yourselves" the creepy stalker guy which Medea now referred as she did not know his name, casually told them

"What is your name you never did tell us? I can't keep referring to you as creepy stalker guy" Medea told him, he rolled his eyes while Diana snickered a bit.

"Matthew Clairmont"

"Hn"

"Now Matthew can you please leave us"

"I will for now but remember Diana, other creatures will want the book and you, Medea be cautious as well" he walked outside and picked up a sweater, he started to sniff it like a dog. However he started to look like a predator who's dinner has just been found.

Diana and Medea walked out after him and saw the change. Medea started to cast her magic directly at Matthew and caused him to have something similar to that of an aneurysm. He soon fell to the ground, unconscious since her magic was that strong that it overpowered him. And that she may or may not have been their when vampires, were first created so she knew how to subdue even destroy one.

Medea then grabbed the gobsmacked Diana's hand and left for their apartment. When they went home Medea knew she needed to talk to someone.
