Blood, snow, the feeling of flesh under her claws.

The wind howled in both of their ear, swaying the pines surrounding them. A fresh blanket of snow fell on her back, cooling her cuts and scraps she has substained in their struggle. And as scarlet blood mixed with the pure white snow, as the distance cries of battle continued in the distance; she stared into the eyes of her attacker, the one cat she thought she could trust.

His eyes remained calm, yet he made a gurgled choking noise. Blood pooled around him, he did not seemed afraid of the idea of death. Or that she could easily toss him into the ravine in the land pass the moor. Deep, full of rocks and a rushing river.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Seize your moment: kill me and go back to soak up all the glory. I always knew you were destined for something greater than being another warrior."

Do it, stop hesitating. End the reign

Yet she hesitated to make a move. What would happen after this? She kills him and returns a hero? Standing here, he particularly begged for it. He was smart and knew what he wanted. She'd just be playing his game.

"My work here in the clan is done, the seed has been planted. My legacy will regin on, and where does that live you? In a Clan full of a weak and battered warriors, that's what!" He threw his head back, letting out a cackle, purely out of spite.

Horror coursed through her. Then realization. And as the wind whistled in her ears, she breathed out, almost like it was confirming her thoughts.

She knew what to do.

"To bad we won't get to see won't get to see that Clan you speak of," she whispered.

His laughter died out, replaced by a deep frown. "'We?' You're speaking nonsense, girl."

It was hard to process what happened after that. She lunged. He tried dodging, she was quicker. She digged her claws into her back and combined with the force of her blow, they were sent tumbling back and into the ravine.

She was aware of a shrill scream of her name; one she recognized too well. Tears started to form I'm sorry.

And then they hit the water.
