I'm awful

(A/N. This was a LyraxSilver one shot I wrote ages ago, some of you may remember some may not, but I lost motivation and stopped writing it so now I'm posting it in here so I can get rid of the draft in the one shot book)

Lyra's door was once again slammed in Silver's face. Lyra's mother would not let him in no matter how much he begged and pleaded.

He'd hurt her- he'd known ever since he said it. He called her horrible things, thinking she would forgive him like she always did.

But she didn't.

Lance said she hadn't been at the league in days. No one had seen her since Silver said those things. He had no doubt it was his fault.

Silver sighed and rubbed his face with his hand. He scanned the house, noticing Lyra's Togekiss in one of the windows. He made the assumption that that was her room and began tossing pebbles at it, attempting to get her to open the window.

Please listen to me, he thought.

After a few pebbles being tossed at it, the window opened, revealing Lyra's Bellossom. It had an agitated look on its face

"Uh hey Bellossom..." Silver nervously shouted to the Pokémon. Bellossom glared at the redhead. A purple powder began swirling around Bellossom and Silver's face paled. Silver quickly scurried away from the poison powder attack.

Silver saw a figure move over to the window and pick up Bellossom.

"Lyra!" Silver shouted, "Listen to me!"

Lyra and Silver briefly made eye contact before Lyra looked away, rubbing her eyes. She threw a Pokeball out the window and turned her back to Silver.

A Dragonite emerged from the Pokeball, its arms crossed and its eyes shooting ice cold daggers at Silver. It's wings flapped as it glared- an attempt to make itself look bigger. Lyra's Dragonite was considerably small for the species of dragon.

Silver stood his ground until Dragonite's tail began glowing a bright teal color. Silver backed away from the dragon Pokémon. The light faded.

"I never intended to hurt her..." Silver told the Pokémon.

But you did, Dragonite seemed to say.

"Surf" Lyra's soft voice commanded.

Dragonite grinned wickedly as a wave of fear flowed through Silver's veins.

Silver sat at the body of water connecting New Bark to route 22. He wrung water out of his jacket, watching it drip into the bigger body of water.

Silver noticed a few small white flowers growing alongside the water and picked one. He twirled the flower between his thumb and pointer finger.

He couldn't help but think of Lyra as this flower- beautiful and delicate until some jerk comes and picks it. Ever since Silver met Lyra, he'd been slowly killing her- even if that wasn't his intention. Every small insult slowly killed the flower, forcing it to wither away. But no one notices how damaged the flower really is until it's dead.

~"Go away!" Silver yelled to his rival who, for some reason, insisted on making his life hell.

"Silvy, I know something is wrong with you!" Lyra cried.

"What the fuck do you know?! Nothing! There's nothing up there, is there?" Silver jabbed, motioning to Lyra's head.

She ignored the jab, "Silvy-"

"-Stop with that stupid fucking nickname! It doesn't make you look cute, it makes you look pathetic. Not like you needed any help with that anyways!"

Push her away, Silver thought, You don't need her

Yes you do, he thought, contradicting himself, Don't do this

Lyra continued to ignore Silver's attitude, "Silver" she said, stressing his name as if she was afraid of what he'd say, "I just want to know what's wrong"

"What's wrong? What's wrong is you're still here! I know you're just humoring me! You don't care about me! You care about what I'll do! Stop being a fake bitch and leave me alone!"

That got to her. Silver watched Lyra shatter and crumble right before his eyes. Her eyes filled with tears, and she looked broken. Her body shook as she wiped her eyes.

Regret surged through Silver's veins. He hadn't meant to hurt her- that wasn't even the worst thing he'd said to her.

She'd finally had enough~

Silver shook away the memory. He didn't want to remember what he'd done to her. He'd finally pushed her to her breaking point.

A voice snapped Silver from his thoughts, "What did that poor daisy ever do to you, my dear?"

"What?" Silver asked as he looked to the owner of the voice. She was an older woman of about sixty, her curly gray hair tied up in a bun, an apron over her yellow flower printed dress, and she carried a basket of pink flowers with her.

"You have picked that daisy, correct? It will not last long without water"

"Oh" Silver stated simply, looking back down at the flower in his hand, "I suppose you're right"

"Oh my! Did you swim here?" She old woman asked.

Silver laughed with no humor, "No I just...upset someone"

"Is that all?" The woman waved off Silver's statement like it was nothing, "I've got the cure for that my dear, come with me"

The old woman began walking away, but stopped and turned when she realized Silver wasn't following, "No one is getting any younger here"

Silver snapped out of his daze, grabbing his jacket and getting up to follow the old woman. Once Silver caught up to her, she handed him her basket of pink flowers. The aroma was something Silver had never smelt before.

"What are these?" Silver asked.

"Those? Gracedia flowers, dear. They're used to show gratitude to others. They also grow on the back of Shaymin"

"Shaymin..." Silver recited, feeling like he had heard the name before. From a story book perhaps? Maybe Lyra had mentioned it?

"Yes- Shaymin. The gratitude Pokémon. They hail from Sinnoh, so there are none around here, but these were sent in from an acquaintance of mine in Sinnoh. I plan on planting them and selling them here in Johto so kindness and gratitude can be spread throughout the region"

"Woah" Silver said in awe. Lyra must have mentioned it- it seems like her type of Pokémon.

The old woman nodded as they came upon a small flower shop that Silver had never noticed before. She unlocked the door and it swung open. A Beedrill greeted her as she walked inside. Silver trailed her, the overwhelming smell of flowers entering his nostrils. The Beedrill eyed him curiously, but eventually went to tend to some of the flowers.

The old woman moved to a part of the shop where Silver couldn't see her.

"Now who was it that you upset, dear?" The woman's voice asked.

Silver gently poked at the petals of one of the Gracedia flowers, "Uh a person" he answered.

"Who?"

Silver cringed, "Um...Lyra"

The old woman's head poked through a row of flowers, "The champion?"

Silver nodded.

"She bought a bundle of lilacs a few days ago, claiming she couldn't sleep well. Such a sweetheart. Shame that she's not feeling well"

Silver flinched, "Yeah..."

"Any idea why that might be?"

Silver answered hesitantly, "It's my fault"

"Oh dear, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure it's not your fault" the woman said, coming up to Silver and taking the basket of Gracedia flowers.

"You don't understand..." Silver muttered, "It's completely my fault"

The woman raised her eyebrow suspiciously, "Why's that?"

Silver shoved his hands in his pockets and looked at his feet, "I said some things, called her names, neither of which I meant but...I really messed up"

"Ah"
