Gabe was the first to release his Pokémon from its Pokéball.

Hilda, Ace, and Victoria all watched their friend release a Fraxure from the Pokéball.

"Cool!" Gabe chirped, reaching to pet the Pokémon. The Fraxure swiped at Gabe with its tusks.

Gabe recoiled, "Not cool..." he muttered.

Hilda laughed, having gone through the same thing with her own Fraxure.

She shook her head, "Not like that," she said, turning to Fraxure.

Fraxure glared at Hilda, ready to swing its tusks again. The brunette snapped her fingers suddenly in Fraxure's face, surprising it. This time, she took Gabe's hand and snapped her fingers again, keeping Fraxure distracted. She pressed Gabe's hand against Fraxure's muzzle. Fraxure purred and sat down, its tail banging on the ground in a wag.

Gabe smiled, "Cool! How'd you know how to do that?"

Hilda shrugged, "Dragon types are easy. They're giant Lillipups once you get to know 'em!"

N silently watched the exchange from across the courtyard. A student suddenly asked for help, so N turned his attention to them.

Ace looked down at his Pokéball and tossed it into the air. In a bright light, a Larvitar appeared. It looked up at Ace and scanned his face.

Ace knelt down and placed his hand on Larvitar's head.

"You look strong..." He whispered.

Larvitar nodded.

"Cute you're exactly the same..." Victoria muttered, "Good to know there are versions of Ace even in Pokémon."

Ace frowned and turned to Victoria, "Why don't you just send out your Pokémon, Vicky?" He hissed.

Cringing at the nickname, Victoria sent out her Pokémon. She screamed when she saw the one that appeared.

A Galvantula titled its head at Victoria, confused by her screams.

"Ew!" She screeched.

"Cute!" Hilda chirped.

Victoria frowned, "Cute? How?"

Hilda leaned down and let the Galvantula sniff her hand, "What do you mean 'how'? Look at it!"

Victoria hugged her arms, "Hilda! Are you blind?"

As Hilda fawned over the Galvantula, Gabe snickered, "I don't think she can hear you..."

"Hilda! How about we switch Pokémon?"

Hilda shook her head, "No can do! I think you and Galvantula will make a great team!" She said, getting up and pulling out her Pokéball.

Victoria became visibly disgusted, "But-"

"We aren't thinking of abandoning our Pokémon, are we?" N asked, walking over to the group. Hilda gravitated towards her boyfriend and kissed his cheek.

Fraxure clung to Gabe's leg and Larvitar sat at Ace's feet. The boys shook their heads at N's question.

Victoria plastered on a smile, "Of course not! We're getting along just fine!" She lied, reaching down to pat Galvantula. Galvantula sent a small spark of electricity at Victoria's hand and crawled over to Hilda. It rubbed its face on her leg.

Hilda almost cried, "So cute..."

N rolled his eyes and leaned down to speak to Galvantula, "I understand, but even if you and Victoria have your differences, you can still get along! Hilda and I are very different, yet we still love each other," he stood back up and snaked an arm around Hilda's waist, "You two just need to learn to embrace your differences. More specially you, Victoria."

Victoria groaned as Galvantula crawled back over to her. Neither of them seemed happy to be near each other.

Hilda pulled herself away from N and held up her Pokéball. She smiled at it as she tossed it into the air.

Gladion took a deep breath before knocking on the wooden door before him. His hand hovered before the door, still wondering if he should knock or not. Finally, he swallowed his pride and knocked.

A woman with dark green hair answered the door, looking as if she'd just finished crying, which she probably had.

Gladion gave her a pitied look, "Um...hi. I uh heard about what happened...I just...wanted to check in on your son."

The woman sniffled, "Oh? Come in, dear. I'm sure he'd appreciate that."

Gladion nodded and ducked inside the house, taking note of how horribly quiet it was.

"He's in his room," The woman said, "Right down that hallway."

Gladion followed her instructions down the hall. He found what he assumed was Hau's room and entered. He found the green haired boy sprawled out on his floor, staring at the ceiling.

"Hey," Gladion said awkwardly.

"Go away, Gladion," Hau grumbled, "I'm not in the mood to be made fun of."

"I'm not here to make fun of you you weirdo," Gladion said, flipping his bangs.

"Then why are you here?"

"To check up on you."

Hau turned his head to glare at Gladion, "Why?" He hissed.

"Because I know how you feel."

Hau made a, "Pft" sound and returned his gaze to the ceiling.

A sigh escaped Gladion's lips and he laid on the ground next to Hau.

"What are you doing?" Hau asked.

"Laying down," Gladion answered, "Being a sad sack like you."

Hau groaned and sat up. His green hair cascaded down towards his shoulders, as he hadn't bothered to put it up.

"Look Gladion, I know you hate me! Why do you care so much if I'm sad or not?"

Gladion sat up as well and crossed his legs, "I don't hate you. I hate that you flirt with Lillie."

Hau scoffed, "What's it to you if I do? She's into Moon anyways."

"Don't remind me..." Gladion grumbled, "But the point is that I don't hate you, and even if I did, I would never come to your house to make fun of you after your grandfather died!"

Hau winced and tears formed in his eyes.

Gladion shifted his weight uncomfortably, "Sorry..."

Hau wiped his eyes, "It's fine. I just miss him so much already..."

Gladion nodded, "I get that."

"What d'you mean by that? Like you get it? Or like you feel the same way?"

Gladion leaned back on his hands and stared at the ceiling, noticing the ceiling fan swaying in a circular motion, "When my father disappeared

N stumbled into his bedroom, finding a very angry Hilda glaring at him. She had her arms crossed, and was sitting at the foot of the bed.

N smiled dopily, "Gnafternoon, Hilda!" He slurred.

Hilda's glare pierced the air, "And where were you?"

N frowned, "Uherm...Cheren's!"

"Why?" Hilda asked in a low tone.

"Cheren wanted to hamg out!"

"What did you buy him?"

"He wanted this icky clear stuff that burned worse than Reshiram! I always forget the name..." he whispered.

"Vodka?"

N nodded, "Mhmm! Cheren mixed it with stuff, but I wanted to try it on its own!"

"Of course you did."

N nodded.

"I told you to stop hanging out with Cheren on your own!" Hilda scolded.

N frowned, "Okay Mom..." he mumbled.

Hilda glared at her boyfriend, "Excuse me?" She asked, her tone dangerous.

N smirked, "You look hot when you're angry..."

Hilda blinked in surprise, "What?"
