Illusion
"Mom?" Illusion wondered, looking around the room, "Dad!"
He found his parents standing on opposing sides of an enormous marble castle, two giant dragon-like creatures standing in between them.
Illusion rushed toward his father, "Dad!"
Illusion was stopped by an immense amount of heat, and staggered back. He ran towards his mother, but recoiled as his body surged with electricity.
He looked down at his trembling hands as he realized what was going on.
"Oh no..." he whispered to himself, "It's that dream..."
He must have fallen asleep. He couldn't remember where he was when it happened, but he knew it couldn't have been at home. Musharna is normally there. He never fell asleep without Musharna.
He couldn't believe how reckless he was.
"No..." Illusion murmured, "No! Stop!" He shouted. He tried to run in between the creatures, but his feet were suddenly glued to to floor.
He knew the dream all too well- His parents on opposing sides, yelling and screaming at each other, the two creatures attacking one another.
Normally the picture was blurry. It was that dream logic where the picture didn't look right, but he knew what it was. The picture was clear this time, and he noticed something different- his parents seemed younger. He could tell because his father's hair was shorter.
Then he heard something completely off from what the dream usually entailed- he heard sobs.
He focused in on where the sobbing was coming from, and it was coming from his mother. He could clearly see her tears, but couldn't make out anything she was saying. He saw his father's face. His face looked as if he wanted to help, but couldn't reach out.
The creatures spoke. Their words tore into each other, speaking of truths and ideals, and how they would take this fight to the grave. They would fight until one of them was unmoving if it meant their master would win.
They were ready to kill each other.
Finally, the humans made words Illusion could understand:
"I'm sorry...but I cannot hold back. Even for you."
A sniffle echoed throughout the room, "I won't hold back, either. Zekrom, attack."
The black creature lunged at the white one and sank its teeth into its neck.
Illusion awoke with a "No!"
Eyes fell upon Illusion as his classmates turned to stare at him.
Illusion shook his head and wiped drool from his chin. His classmates snickered.
"Illusion," his teacher scolded, "I would appreciate it if you did not sleep through my class."
Illusion nodded, "I...I promise it'll never happen again...sorry..." He said.
And he meant it.
But...he had a feeling the dream wasn't finished there. What would happen if he finished it?
Why was this the only dream he ever had?
