Wreeting

(A/N. Idec about this writing anymore I lost interest after a few hundred words and it's about 1,700 words soooo yikes. Just take the unedited garbage that is this.)

"Wow this looks great you guys!" Moon chirped, setting a box down on a newly set up picnic table.

"I know!" Hau chirped, climbing down from a tree he just finished wrapping string lights around.

Gladion walked away from the tree he was wrapping lights around to give Moon a kiss.

As they pulled away, Hau gagged, "Three things," he said, holding up his fingers, "One, ew. Two, yuck. And three, eeeewwww."

"You said ew twice." Moon smirked, putting her hands on her hips.

Hau grabbed another string of lights from the box near one of the many picnic tables, "Yeah well I'm thoroughly grossed out."

He walked over to the final bare tree in the surrounding area and wrapped the lights around it. As he sat on one of the branches, wrapping the lights around it, he asked, "So when are you two planning on telling Sun and Lillie that you're dating?"

Moon and Gladion sighed and Gladion went to look at the box his girlfriend had brought. Moon sat on the picnic bench and groaned, "There's no way we can tell them tonight if that's what you're implying."

"What flavor is this?" Gladion asked, opening the box and looking at its contents.

"Half of it's chocolate, half of its vanilla. Pretty impressed that Mallow pulled it off." Moon answered.

"Yes I am implying you tell them," Hau cut in, "Tonight."

"This seems like the worst night to tell them! Maybe not for Sun, but for Lillie at least!" Moon argued.

Hau jumped down from the tree, "I've just got this weird feeling. You should tell them."

Gladion closed his eyes and shut the box, "What they don't know won't hurt them." He said.

"So, what? You're just going to date and possibly get married and have children without them knowing?" Hau asked, crossing his arms.

"Yep." Gladion agreed.

Moon looked over her shoulder at Gladion and wiggled her eyebrows, "Oh? You think we're gonna get married and have kids?"

Gladion blushed and sighed, "Let's not talk about this now, darling."

"You gotta tell them," Hau pressed, "And soon."

"Fine," Moon groaned, "But not tonight. I don't wanna ruin Lillie's birthday!"

Hau turned to Gladion, "Tell Sun."

"Fiiiiine," Gladion whined, "But when he goes crying to Lillie and ruins her party, it's on you."

The three friends let out their Pokémon to help finish decorating and set up Aether Paradise for the party. They were holding it in front of their house, as not to disturb the Pokémon that lived in the conservation area.

Moon's Ninetails and Gladion's Weavile creates shards of ice, and Hau Crabominable crushed them with its claws. The three Pokémon then moved the ice shards into lots of big buckets that were going to work as coolers. Moon rushed over and put various types of drinks in each bucket. One had sodas, one had water, one juice, and another alcohol (not for anyone underage of course).

Hau filled various balloons with helium, and Moon's Lycanroc fetched various rocks to tie the balloons to. Moon's Lurantis scattered petals over all the picnic tables with its petal dance. Gladion's Zoroark and Lucario, Moon's Oricorio, and Hau's Raichu set up streamers and a "Happy Birthday sign". The rest of the Pokémon helped out with any other task they could. The Silvally, however, were kindly asked by their trainers to take a back seat in the party planning. They were too clumsy and unaware of their clumsiness.

Soon, the party guests started arriving. Moon greeted each and every one of them, while Gladion avoided most of them. Hau instantly rushed to Hapu to talk about Kahuna things. Moon was in the middle of a conversation when she saw two familiar blondes.

"Mohn!" Moon chirped, "Lusamine!"

She excused herself from the conversation, rushed over to the couple, and gave Mohn a big hug.

"Woah kiddo...too tight!" Mohn groaned.

"Whoops!" Moon gasped, retreating from the hug.

Mohn chuckled and ruffled the girl's hair, "It's fine- I missed you too!"

Gladion suddenly appeared by Moon's side, "Hello Mother. Hello Father."

Lusamine smiled and rushed to hug her son, "Oh Gladion look at you!" She gushed, pulling away and smushing Gladion's cheeks, "Your skin looks so good! Your hair is so shiny! And I love what you've done with Aether Paradise! Your grandfather would be so proud of you!"

"Mother!" Gladion groaned, blushing.

Lusamine pulled away, "Oh sorry! I won't embarrass you in front of the girl you like!"

Moon giggled as her boyfriend groaned.

"Actually Flower boy and I are dating now, so embarrass away!" Moon smiled.

"Oh! How exciting!" Lusamine chirped, "Have I ever told you about the time Gladion fell into a rose bush?"

Gladion blushed immensely, "Mom!"

Lusamine leaned into Moon, "We'll talk later." She whispered, walking away to go find something to drink.

"She is so different now..." Gladion mumbled.

"I'd better go after her," Mohn sighed, "If she gets enough alcohol in her, she's a mess." He strolled off after Lusamine, watching her alcohol intake carefully.

"I never would've thought they'd fall in love all over again after everything, ya know?" Moon said, "It's romantic. You can tell they're soulmates."

"Yeah." Gladion grumbled.

Moon sighed, "He's trying his best to be your dad. Let him in, will ya? It's not his fault he can't remember anything."

Gladion tsked. Hau suddenly ran up to them.

"I got the text from Sun!" He yelled, "I got the text from Sun!" He shouted, shaking Moon.

Moon pushed Hau away and pat Gladion's chest, "That's your cue, boss."

"Quit calling me boss." Gladion said.

"Would you rather me call you Master Gladion?"

"Boss is fine." He said quickly, turning to go meet Sun and Lillie at the front of Aether Paradise.

"Hey Lillie!" Gladion said as he greeted his sister, "You have fun with Sun?"

"You threw me a surprise party, didn't you?" Lillie asked.

Gladion blinked in surprise, "What? No!"

"I already spilled the beans, man." Sun said.

"Sun!"

"I ran out of shit to keep her distracted so I told her what was going on and she was supposed to pretend like she didn't know."

Lillie shrugged, "I just want cake."

As Gladion escorted Sun and Lillie to the home the siblings shared, Lillie's eyes lit up at the scenery. She rushed past her brother and her friend to the part before her.

"Surprise!" Everyone yelled at her arrival.

"I already knew, but thanks!" Lillie yelled back.

Hau groaned, "Dammit!"

Sun and Gladion caught up to Lillie, "Slow down, Lillie." The blond said.

"No screw you." Lillie said.

"Lillie!" Lusamine chirped, pulling her daughter into a hug, "Look at you! You somehow became more beautiful than when I last saw you!"

Lillie chuckled awkwardly, "Thanks Mom..."

"Hey kid!" Mohn beamed, waving, "Happy birthday!"

"Thanks Dad!" Lillie said, pulling away from her mothers suffocating embrace.

Mohn teared up, "She called me Dad..." he whispered.

Mohn rushed off crying, and Lusamine went after him.

"You don't have to humor him." Gladion said.

"I'm not. He's our dad and he's trying his best."

"That's what I said..." Moon sang, taking a sip from her soda can. Gladion slapped it out of her hands.

"Hey!"

Various more people greeted Lillie and handed her birthday presents. It bothered Moon because she specifically told people to put gifts in the house, so Lillie had to keep going inside to put them away.

Throughout the night the teens chatted and socialized with different people. Hau tended to stick with Hapu and Olivia, though. He occasionally checked up with Lillie or Moon. He often checked up with Gladion, guilting him into talking to Sun.

Gladion avoided Sun like the plague. He didn't want to have that conversation with him tonight. He really didn't want to hurt his friend. Well...more than he already had over the years. Finally, after everyone sang to Lillie and ate cake, he pulled Sun aside.

"I wanna talk to you." Gladion said.

Sun blushed lightly and nodded, "Okay..."

Gladion brought Sun inside the house and sat down on the staircase that lead to his room. Sun sat next to him, running his finger along the rim of his soda can.

"So...what's up?" Sun asked.

Gladion sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, "I don't know how to tell you this...and there's probably a better time I could have told you this...but..."

Sun blushed. Was this it? The moment Sun had waited years for? Did Gladion finally realize that Sun was all he needed all along?

"You know Moon and I have kinda been...I don't know...a thing?" He began, "A thing but also not a thing? How nothing ever worked out?"

Sun frowned and nodded. Weirdest confession ever, he thought.

Gladion rubbed his hands together, "Well uh-"

Moon felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to see her blonde friend.

"Hey Lillie! Having fun?"

Lillie nodded and blushed, "Yeah! But can I talk to you for a sec?"

"Sure thing!" Moon chirped, following Lillie away from the party.

"What's goin on?" Moon asked.

Lillie took a deep breath, "Well, as you know, I've liked you for a really really long time..." She said, blushing, "And I know that you're into my brother but...I think that you could be happier with me and my brother doesn't even understand how special you are! He's broken your heart over and over again...I would never do that to you."

Moon frowned, "Oh Lillie..."

"So I just think that maybe you could consider...us..."

"Lillie-"

"-Moon and I are dating."

"-Gladion and I are dating."

Sun looked at the boy next to him in horror, "What?" He whispered.

Lillie's heart broke in that moment. She couldn't even form words to express her distress.

"I'm sorry, Lillie..." Moon whispered, "I didn't wanna have to tell you like this..."

Sun stood up suddenly, "No..."

"Sun I'm sorry..." Gladion said, "I didn't want to hurt you- you're my friend!"

"How long?" Lillie whispered, shaking.

Moon sighed, "Four months."

"Four months?" Sun hissed.

"I'm sorry," Gladion sighed, "I never meant to hurt you."

Sun shook his head and ran off. He ran outside and past everyone at the party. He shoved Hau aside when the boy asked what was wrong. Gladion chased after him.

"Sun! Stop! I'm sorry!" Gladion yelled.

Sun stopped and whipped around, "Save your sorry!" He cried, "I don't wanna hear it..." he whispered, running off again. This time, leaving Gladion in the dust.

Moon joined Gladion by his side and wrapped an arm around his waist.

"I told him." He said simply.

"I told her too." Moon replied.

"Where is she?"

"Inside. Where's Sun?"

"Gone."
