Yeet here
(A/N. I hate it. It's unedited. Just take it I'm done.)
"Uh what's going on here?" Lillie asked, watching Machamp move various heavy objects into an empty office room.
Gladion turned to his sister, "Oh I'm offering Moon your job." He said casually.
Lillie's jaw dropped, "What?! Gladion! How could you?!"
Gladion smirked, "Relax- I'm promoting you."
Lillie blinked in surprise, "What?"
"Yep. You're Co-President now. Congrats."
Lillie beamed and gave her brother a big hug, "Thank you Gladion!"
Gladion smiled and pat his sister's head. Lillie pulled away and frowned.
"You didn't promote Wicke? Don't you think she deserves it more?" She asked.
"Oh I asked her weeks ago but she said no." Gladion explained.
The Machamp finished furnishing the room and Gladion nodded and thanked them. He walked into the office space. Lillie went in after him.
"So I get an office now?" Lillie asked, running her hand across the new white desk.
Gladion nodded, "Yep. You need a new uniform too so Mom's gonna order one for you. Dad sends his luck."
Lillie sat in the swivel chair behind her desk, "You really think Moon's gonna like being your assistant?"
Gladion sighed, "Well you hated it so probably not...but it's all that's open right now. I'm gonna see what I can do about a permanent placement for her later."
"Why don't you make her my assistant?"
"Not a chance."
"You know you can't hit on her, right?"
Gladion glared, "Neither can you."
Lillie leaned back in her chair, "Hey she's not my assistant."
Gladion made a "hmph" sound.
"So why are you offering her this job?" Lillie asked.
"She's been sad about losing her title as Champion," Gladion said, "I think what scares her most is not being able to work with Pokémon. I thought this could help."
Lillie rolled her eyes, "Right."
Gladion raised an eyebrow.
"I think you're doing this to get closer to her."
"This wasn't a decision that I made for me. I made it for her. You know just as well as I do how much she's hurting right now," Gladion said. Lillie sighed. Gladion continued, "Besides...she used to help out here all the time when we were kids...I think she liked it."
Lillie scoffed, "She liked you, dummy," She said sourly, "And she'll probably take this job too because she still does."
Gladion blushed and turned away, "Just empty your old desk. I invited her over tomorrow to offer her the job," he turned back to his sister, "We can see if she and the guys wanna celebrate your promotion tonight with malasadas!"
Lillie's face lit up, "Oh hell yeah! I'll call Sun and Moon!" She chirped, ushering Gladion our of the room, "Call Hau!"
Gladion rolled his eyes and went back to his office. He sat at his desk and called his green haired friend.
"Wassup Edgelord?" Hau asked, "Kinda busy."
Gladion frowned, "Doing what? Eating two times your body weight?"
Hau chuckled, "Something like that. What do you need?"
"Lillie wants us all to go out tonight. You in?"
Hau hesitated, "I've got a date."
Gladion's eyebrows raised in surprise, "Really?"
"Gotta get over Lillie sometime. Don't act like you're not thrilled!"
"Actually if you could get her to fall for you, that'd be great."
Hau laughed, "You just want her off Moon. Don't sweat it dude! Moon's always been into you!"
"Are you sure? I remember a brief period of time where she was into you..."
"We dated for like two months! Will you just get over it?"
"Never."
"Great...I'll see what I can do, man. I'll call you later."
Hau hung up. Gladion sighed. He still found his new friendship with Hau a tad bit unsettling. Though it wasn't really "new"- they'd been friends ever since Hala's death, but Gladion spent so long hating Hau and vice versa. He found it odd how close they'd gotten in that amount of time.
Gladion leaned back in his chair. He hoped Moon would take the job. He hoped it would make her happy.
He missed her smile so much.
