Day Five-Rudy.

Rudy's POV.

I slowly opened my eyes to find I was in bright pink room. The carpet was pink, the walls were pink, even the bed I was resting on had pink sheets.

There were scribbles on the wall and pictures taped to it. A small table in the back of the room was covered with paper and crayons.

I figured I was in the little girl's room. Whyat was her name? Mira? Yeah thyat's it. I stood up and stretched. Then I jumped to the floor, I wondered how long I had been asleep.

The door clicked open and Mira walked in. Her hair was in two pigtails and she was wearing a pink tee shirt and jeans. Her blue eyes lit up with joy when she saw me.

"Kitty! Alyssa, he's awake!" Mira called, running over to me and lifting me into the air.

"Mira quiet down." Her sister ordered. Cautiously looking down the hall. She was dressed in a white shirt and black pants.

"Oh don't worry, mommy and daddy just think I'm being imaginative." Mira assured Alyssa.

"Well it's a good thing the cat is awake, it sure can sleep a lot." Alyssa commented.

"Well he was probably running all over the place, so of course he was tired." Mira said, scratching me behind the ears.

"I really hope he isn't diseased or something. We should take him to a vet so he can get checked up on sometime."

"But if we take him to the vet then won't that cause money?" Mira pointed out, Alyssa muttered something under her breath.

"You're right! I knew I should've gotten a part-time job that actually pays!"

"Well I'm sure kitty is fine. He looks fine." Well I was tyaken to the vet just a few weeks ago. I wanted to say.

"Looks can be deceiving. If we're going to take care of a cat we'll need to do it right. So I'll consult the perfect source: the Internet!"

"Maybe we should name him first. I like the name Rudy." I flinched when she said that name. How in the wyorld did you hyave the idea of that name? It's nyot exactly a cyommon cat nyame.

"Rudy? What kind of name is that?"

Mira shrugged. "I had a dream last night and the kitty's name was Rudy." Whyat are the odds?

"Well I guess Rudy is a unique name. And it has a nice ring to it, so Rudy is fine with me."

"Yay! Rudy the kitty!" Alyssa chuckled at her sister. Mira set me down and I scampered away from her, see for up grinning and started chasing me around the room.

Later that day everyone left the house to go to a store, leaving me all alone in Mira's room to think.

I had found a new home but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I wanted to be with Mira since she reminded me of Amy so much, I also didn't want to be Jibanyan anymore either. But the image of Amy's dead body was looming over me, flooding me with guilt every time I thought of it.

Mira would be ok even if she never got a pet, it wouldn't change her life. But death was one of the biggest changes possible. I concluded that I wasn't letting Amy die, I would become Jibanyan as much as I loathed it.

I really wished I had memory of when I was first figuring out being Jibanyan. But all the memories up to meeting Nate were hazy.

Whatever the case was I would endure it and become Jibanyan. I looked out the window I was resting next to and saw the street, a large crack was spreading across it. I shot up, looking around for a way out of the house.

When the family are about to pull into the driveway, they'll fall into that sinkhole! I thought panickedly. I noticed a window had been left slightly open. I charged at it, squeezing through the opening.

Next thing I knew I was on the grass. I saw a car driving down the street, in the back was Mira and Alyssa. Nobody seemed to notice the cracks so I ran out into the middle of the street.

A man in the driver's seat noticed me and came to a halt. The cracks had spread to my feet, fortunately the road hadn't given way.

The family had noticed the spreading cracks and all piled out of the car, which was now about to cause the ground to give way.

I knew now would be a good time to run and flung myself into the air. The ground caved in, a giant hole opened up. The area was much larger than I had anticipated.

I barely landed on the edge, scampering away from the danger. Almost the entire street had been swallowed by the ground, I heard the rushing water from the underground waterway.

Multiple families had gathered around the sight of the sinkhole. Many had fished out their phones and were contacting help.

Mira and Alyssa's family were also standing there, I realized their car had been taken down with the collapsing of the ground. Although they didn't seem to be concerned about that, they were all staring at me.

Alyssa was talking to their mother, who was an older version of Alyssa. With the same hair and eyes. The father was listening to Mira as she talked, he had short blond hair and brown eyes.

Eventually the sisters both finished talking and the parents began conversing with each other. I didn't know what they were saying but Alyssa and Mira's from expressions made me think it wasn't good.

While the parents talked I realized something, they would have died if I hadn't been there. So if I became Jibanyan this family would die! I couldn't bare that nor could I bare Amy's death. The choice was now much more impactful, I had to make the right choice, but which choice was the right one?

Before I could make up my mind the family moved towards me.

"Mira, Alyssa. You have a cat." Their mother said.
