Ginger drew herself back. "W-w-what?" she stammered. Ginger felt a gentle snap. She closed her eyes tightly.

Electricity singed through her fur. When she started to feel numb, she opened her eyes, panting restlessly.

She looked over at Dapple, whose eyes were the size of golf balls. Her ears flopped downward. "G-Ginger? Your fur..." said Dapple, shock in her voice.

"What's wrong with my f-" said Ginger, looking down at her paws. She yelped in shock. Instead of shiny, dark ginger fur, she had black fur.

"Your eyes, too. They are red." said Dapple.

Ginger looked into a water puddle on the ground. Surely enough, instead of sea-green eyes, she had red eyes.

"Now go through your doors." said the cow, a hint of anger in his voice.

Dapple slowly walked into the room with the shining light, whining quietly.

Ginger walked in through the dark purple door, stepping in the gross substance when doing so.

Ugh. Thought Ginger to herself.

The groggy substance hardened around Ginger's paws. Ginger sighed loudly. Why does my life have to be so terrible?
