Art II projects

Two semesters' worth of artwork babe!!!! I'm so psyched to finally get to show it all!!

Going in reverse order bc, as the art gods decree, I hate everything I made more than a month ago and half of this is from August-December lmao

As a result, we're starting with my absolute favorite project,, a still life, surprisingly enough. I love it because it shows how far I've come [you'll see what I mean] and it was a huge challenge yet completely worth it!

^mostly prismacolor with a quick rushed watercolor border

Again, most of my thoughts on this one are at the end but I jus aaaaa!!!!!! Yes!!!! It wa so rushed too, yet so worth it in every way, I  l o v e d  doing that succulent

Next up is the woodcut!

^first one is my full set of prints on fancy student made paper, second is the block I used to make them. Done w/ lots of chisels, ink, impatience and time, but totally worth it in the end

This one was surprisingly fun, especially for the satisfaction of finishing it. Took forever and those little bits got super difficult but it was so cool to try something new! I haven't made prints since my linoleum one in seventh grade

More still lifes, promise these are the last ones ahahha

^prismacolor on various paper

Teapot this time cause the tea is exceptionally hot on this day

One of two student teacher run projects, lowkey did it at the same time as the woodcut. Pretty enjoyable! I loved the middle one, doing lighter pencil on dark toned paper is always so much fun [fulfills all my highlight obsessed needs]

This one was the first one of semester two

^ultra fine sharpie lmao

Another inked piece, yessss!!

We had to do some sort of tree and I chose Muir Woods specifically, I absolutely love it there. I actually posted about it when we went there over a year ago lol. Great time! Loved doing this piece, it's not perfect but it's alright. It and another one actually got put in an art show

Next up are the botanicals!

^left is prismacolor, right is acrylic

Please ignore the snapdragon,, I stg I didn't learn to press down or later well w/ colored pencils until two months ago Why

That right one turned out way better than expected tho!! It's one of my favorite flowers too, and despite rushing it in two days I'm lowkey still proud

There should actually be two other projects here, one is a self portrait [not about to show my face jus yet dhdjhdhd fear] and the other I'm posting separately after this

Aah here's this,, demon,,

^acrylic on stretched canvas

I like,, most of the colors,, and it's a p faithful likeness to the actual thing [this was referenced from our school] but it's gotten the most praise out of all my pieces n it's the other piece that was in the art show yet it looks like a Mistake in so many ways?? I tried to water down,, acrylic,, when I could've half stylized my shading n made it look pretty,, Pearl What Were You Doing

Sorry to shade myself lmao I can't help it, I have a love hate relationship with this one. Still happy I did it

Also,,,,,,,,,, there's this one

^prismacolor and watercolor triptych

hhhhhhhhhh  hhhh h     hhhh  hHHhHhhhhh
No one likes their first project cmon give me a break here

I could not press down,, for the life of me,, n I tried to shade with complements but I mostly jus used more saturated hues and it shows, also referencing?? Who is she

However!! That's okay!! Because l o O  K

This is what you can do in a school year!! Holy shit!! It's such a perfect comparison w/the similar subject matter and mediums. Maybe it's not as big a difference as I think bc I've stared at both of them for so long but wow does this make me happy,, I've Improved!!

I'll be back with the other project eventually [it's nothing special jus has lots of pieces] but for now, I'm off to take my last finals, officially end my sophomore year, and probably scream about how This Is Actually Happening What once it registers with my last two brain cells to all my friends, irl and online
