55 - Inktober II

A/N: It literally just occurred to me that I didn't publish this, soooo FML.

Not too happy with how this turned out... I procrastinated T_T

The spirit finally caught up to the two of them, as they had reached a dead end. The forest had abruptly ended on a cliff, deep blue waves crashing on the shore beneath it. She held her sword to the elf's throat.

"Come with me and we won't have a problem." She stated bluntly. The elf gulped.

"I'll have to decline your offer, fallen angel." She scoffed, ears twitching. The witch standing beside her took a firm hold of her partner's arm. The spirit edged the blade further.

"I don't suppose you understand that the two of you are defying the law, and not obeying me is punishable by death?" The witch trembled, stepping back slightly. The elf pried her fingers off of her arm and gently pushed the blade away from her neck. The spirit let out an impatient huff. "That's what I thought." She sheathed her blade. "We can do this the easy way of the hard way." She nodded at the elf.

"The two of you come with me, or I exile you. Simple as that--" she didn't get to finish-- the elf flipped up her hood and had started to run in the opposite direction. She spirit's eyes glowed a bright gold. "Not so fast, princess."

"Ah--!" The witch hurried towards her friend. The spirit drew the elf towards her and held her a few feet above the ground, then turned to the witch girl.

"It seems the two of you don't want to comply. Fine then." She scoffed. "I'll have to do this, then." With a flick of her wrist, the elf was sent flying through the woods, grazing sharp branches as she ran by. "The rest of her kind will take care of her... As for you, little witch." The girl looked up at the spirit.

"Go back to where you came from." With that, the spirit flipped around, butting the hilt of her sword into the girl's abdomen and sending her falling off the cliff and into the waters below.

"My work here is done."
