The Zaban Orphanage had a tragedy few years back then, the main house was set on fire, scorned. The reason was unidentified but there were reviews and theories of how it started. And the main suspect of this crime was none other than Alyssa.

"Foolish humans. Turn into smithereens along with the flames of purgatory! Perish and grief alone!"

Many people died from the sudden outrage of furious flames, the moon shone brightest at that time that it turned blood red. A girl—no, a monster stood in front of the decaying grounds.

When she realized what she was doing, a wave of regret splashed at her as her face turned pale. She could only watch as the orphanage burn into ashes. Tears split forth as she dug her face on her hands.

"I'm sorry..." she muttered.

After the chaos that night, Alyssa cried in front of the owners of the orphanage. They were furious, mostly because the people they cared about was burnt along the fire, lots of poor children died in vain.

"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...please, don't abandon me! I never wanted this to happen."

But Alyssa's constant begging didn't moved the owners nor convince them to let her stay in the orphanage, so they decided to let her get adopted by someone right away.

"It's not my fault...I didn't do anything wrong! Please, listen."

"Then whose fault is it, brat?!"

"...It's her, Aly, the other side of me. She controlled me...there is no way I am capable of such power!"

The unreasonable adults feigned ignorance and didn't listened to what Alyssa has to say, she, who was used by the dark side within her. Cried.

"It's not my fault that they died, it's her fault, Aly's fault!"

"There is another side of me that you don't know! I don't have any control with that strong power."

"Please listen to me, Aly is controlling me! Help me...!"

No matter how much pleading she did, nobody listened to her until she was finally adopted and went away with her new parents that will take care of her.

She didn't had the chance to explain to them what truly happened that night filled with flames and tragedy.

"...Why can't they believe me?"

Alyssa's eyes shot open as she sat up, she panted heavily and began sweating. She saw a nightmare. Raising her hand to touch her face, she realized her cheeks were wet.

That's when she realized that she was crying in her sleep, her tears continued falling. Until she felt a uneasy feeling wavered in her chest.

"You're finally awake." she turned around and saw a man standing in front of her.

"Mister...where are they? Where are Gon and Killua?!" she asked him.

"Those brats are resting in the other room, but I can't say they are both safe...The albino haired boy carried you here as his stomach was bleeding, he lost too much blood. It was a serious wound, but I already treated it." he explained.

"How about Gon...how is he?" she asked him.

"About the black haired boy...there were still some black marking on his skin. His will was the only thing keeping him survive, but I bet it was crucifying." he said.

"What do you mean...?" she asked.

"I don't know! It's too complicated. Why don't you go see him yourself?" he said.

Then with that, she hurriedly ran towards to Gon's room. Twisting the knob, she ran towards him to see him. But then her eyes widened at the moment she saw him laying on the bed.

The markings didn't left his skin, he kept hollering in pain as he gripped his shirt tightly. Groaning from the pain she was going in through.

No way...I defeated Sloth, didn't I? So why...why isn't Gon getting any better?! He's still suffering.

"...Did she lied?" she said.

But there was no way. Sloth said herself that Witches don't lie, but what if she planned not to heal Gon in the first place. The thought itself made her really upset and angry.

"Alyssa. That's your name, right?" the man asked as she nodded.

"I am Eons, call me that instead of mister." he said as she only nodded once again.

"What happened to my wife...?"

Alyssa flinched from his question, her eyes were focused on Gon who was groaning in pain, she noticed that the marks were getting longer.

"She's dead, Emily-san is already dead." she said not turning to him.

She heard him gasped from that. She slowly glanced back at him to see him covering his eyes with his palm, tears rolling down his cheeks. Then she turned back to Gon, feeling guilty.

"I'm sorry...I wasn't any help to you, even though I promised to save her. I'm really sorry...Eons-san." she muttered.

"...It's not your fault, that monster inside Emily must've so strong, wasn't it? I understand, even I couldn't even help my wife." he cried.

Alyssa could not speak a word, she was too depressed to say something. Unable to save her friend from the poison, she was in demise. And now her other friend was also deeply wounded because of her, it was so heartbreaking that because of her all of this happened.

She held Gon's forehead as her hand glowed brightly, his continuous groaning slowly stopped. He soon fell asleep without feeling any pain, as the result, she felt the pain that Gon was going through.

"Argh!" she groaned as she fell on her knees, biting her lower lip to stop herself from shouting.

It hurts...the curse planted on him really hurts. she thought.

The black markings soon disappeared from his skin but it wouldn't changed the fact that his still poisoned.

All I could do is to undo the curse chanted on him, but not to extract the poison running through his veins. she thought as a tiny mark of black linings grew on her neck.

"It hurts..." she muttered.

Alyssa stood up and began to walk towards the door where Eons stood and was crying silently.

"I will go and see Killua for awhile, excuse me." she said as she walked passed him.

He continued to cry as she sighed and turned to the man who was grieving over his wife's anonymous death.

"I'm so sorry...Eons-san..." she muttered before leaving the room.

Alyssa entered Killua's room who was awake and looking outside the window which was reflected with sunlight and you can hear birds chirping.

"Good morning." she said as she closed the door from behind.

He turned his head towards the girl who just entered his room, she had a sad expression written on her face and was trying her best to hide it with a forced smile.

"How are your wounds? Is it alright now?" she asked as she began walking towards her.

"Yeah. After a whole night rest, I'm alright. My wounds are no biggie." he assured her.

She stopped in front of him and stared at his stomach that was wrapped in bandages, she felt sad about the wound inflicted on him. He noticed her staring at his injury as he smiled.

"I'm alright, Alyssa. Don't worry about me." he told her.

"The wound on your stomach...I was the one who did it, right?"

He flinched from that as he adverted his eyes from her, avoiding eye contact. She looked down on the ground, upset.

"I knew it." she muttered. His silence said it all.

"...It's not like you intentionally did it, didn't you? You weren't yourself last night...what was it all about?" he said.

Alyssa turned away, avoiding eye contact. She can't respond from that, she couldn't. If she did...he will no doubt leave her alone.

"It's like what you said, I wasn't myself last night. I'm sorry that you have to see that side of me." she smiled sadly.

"I...I don't really mind it. Everyone has a dark side..." he replied.

Dark side, huh? she thought.

"Can I...sit beside you?" she asked.

"Sure. Go ahead." he replied.

Alyssa sat down on the bed as she doesn't know how to start a conversation with him, thinking about what happened last night.

"I'm so sorry, Killua. Because of me, your all wounded." she said, looking down on the floor, trembling.

"It's not your fault, Alyssa!" he said.

"No matter how much you spin it, it wouldn't change the fact that I almost killed you. Whether unconscious or conscious—I stabbed you!" she said, burying her face on her hands.

"I couldn't save Emily-san from her despair! I endangered your life and Gon still hasn't healed from the poison...In the end, I was tricked by Sloth! But what made me more frustrated was that I was the only who was safe. It's all my fault—"

Suddenly, Killua pulled her wrist and wrapped his arms around her. She was surprised that he hugged her. He put his chin on top of her head.

"Don't say such things, it's not your fault...Stop blaming yourself." he spoke with kind words.

"It's true, if it weren't for me. None of this would happen...why do you guys have to be the one to suffer? Why can't I be the one who gets hurt instead?" she muttered.

"But I would be sad if you get hurt, Alyssa. I don't want to see you suffering or sad, so please...stop hurting yourself. It pains me to see you like this." he said.

Tears started to roll down her cheeks as she leaned on his chest for support, he caressed her hair delicately. He kissed her forehead to make her feel better, she was never treated this lovingly before.

"Why aren't you hating me, Killua? I almost killed you...why are you still so kind to me?" she spoke.

It'll be more better if he just chewed me out. Alyssa thought.

"Let's just say it's a special treatment that you'll get from me, you should be thankful for this." he told her.

She giggled from that. "Yes, I'll always be thankful for everything you do, Killua."

Then they had a silent moment for a while, it wasn't awkward. They just shared the silence together.

"Your still hiding something from me, aren't you?" he asked as he felt her flinch under his care.

He smiled. "I'll wait until your ready to tell me everything your hiding."

She looked up and met his gaze, she kept sniffing as her eyes became much redder than earlier.

"I am actually planning to tell you, but I want it to wait. I'll tell it you when Gon is all better, he needs to know as well..." she told him.

"Then I guess I'll tell you about it after you tell us what you're hiding." he said.

"Huh? You have something to tell me?" she asked.

He blushed. "Yeah. I do, but I'll tell it to you then."

"What is it? Tell me!" she said.

Killua grinned childishly as his cheeks were bright red, "It's a secret!"

"How cheeky!" she pouted.

Then he pinched her cheeks as she squealed in pain, "Well. I can...but you have to tell yours first."

"No. You will have to wait." she said.

He let go of her cheek and patted her head, he smirked. "Then you'll also have to wait."

"What choice do I have?" she laughed.

The two of them began laughing afterwards, strangely, Killua wasn't scared of Alyssa's dark side. Which made her feel glad that he wasn't. She hopes that Gon, too. Also isn't scared.

"Um...Eons-san, could I ask you something?" Alyssa said.

It was early in the afternoon and they just finished eating, Eons looked up and met her gaze. "What is it?"

"Do you know someone that can make an antidote to extract the poison from Gon? Anyone would do, just help him!" she desperately said.

"...Well, I do know someone." he said.

"Really?! Do you think he can help Gon?" she asked.

"Yeah. After all, he is a professional doctor that knows too well of medicines and antidotes. He'll be able to save your friend." Eons assured.

"Is he someone here in the village?" Alyssa asked.

"Unfortunately, he's in the neighboring city. In Totori district—Oh, wait. Isn't that you brats' destination?" he said.

"Yes! Please take us there." she said.

"I would love too, but like I said, there are lots of bandits blocking the path and we cannot cross because of their presence which is a pain." he said.

"If it's about those thieves, no need to worry about them. They have already evacuated." Killua said as he joined their conversation.

"Evacuated? What do you mean?" Eons asked.

"Last night, I gave them a lesson to not block other people's pathways. I forcibly evacuated them myself." he said.

"Last night...? You mean when you went out of the Rabbit Café?" she asked.

"Yeah. I can't believe that this old man is so scared of them—they are bunch of weaklings that couldn't stand against a mere child!" he said.

"It couldn't be helped, Killua. You are an professional hunter, there is no way that ordinary bandits will hurt you." Alyssa said.

"Well, that's right." Killua laughed.

No way...I couldn't believe it. This kid defeated the bandits?! That's fraud. Eons thought.

"Let's go, Eons-san. I want to get Gon to a doctor as fast as possible." Alyssa told him.

"Yeah. We need to get our buddy all patch up." Killua said.

"Are you really sure that the bandits are gone?!" the old man asked.

"Your nosy, just do the driving. After all, you're getting paid." the albino haired boy said.

Eons felt disrespected by Killua as he walked to Gon's room, Alyssa sweat dropped as she faced the old man.

"U-Um...I'm so sorry for his rudeness. Please don't take it personally." Alyssa said, apologizing to him.

"No, it's fine...I finally got used to that brat's rotten attitude. It's just as rotten as him." Eons growled.

"Aha...ha..ha." Alyssa laughed nervously, after seeing Eon's rage.

They've finished packing their stuff inside the carriage as they rode in, with Eons and Eren at the front, Killua and the others are at the back seat.

"We should really hurry up and take Gon to a doctor that can treat him, he must've been experiencing great pain." Killua said.

"Yes, that's why we are going right now." Alyssa replied.

"Hey, you kids haven't forgotten anything at the house, didn't ya?" Eons yelled from the front seat.

"No, we have everything. Eons-san!" Alyssa yelled back.

"Alright, then let's going!" the old man said as he whipped his horse as the carriage started to move.

Meanwhile, Gon rested on Alyssa's legs. He was still sleeping peacefully, she caressed his spiky hair.

"Don't worry, you'll be safe now."
