Alyssa's POV.

I ran as fast as my legs could take me, the night was getting deeper, time slipping out, making me desperate. I need to beat the Witch and save Gon.

The cresent moon up above was smiling down at me, it lit up the dark forest with its very faint light. But at least I could still see some few things in the darkness.

Suddenly, I sensed a nasty killing intent as my body moved instantly put from the blow. The ground crumbled as I gasped from the claws imprinted on the soiled ground.

That was close...too close in my comfort. I thought.

Then I saw pointy black crystal swords flying from the sky as I swiftfully dodged it, looking from the place where it came from, it was up in the air. Meaning....

"That's strange. You can see through invisibility? How? It's an high level spell that Witches uses against their enemy to camouflage their attacks making it subtle."

I found her, at last. She was flying—rather floating above ground. She was frowning about how I saw her technique.

"Invisibility? What are you talking about? Those swords are practically visible to me though!" I said in a matter of fact.

She was surprised. "Visible...?"

Everything suddenly got tensed. It was quiet, too quiet. Suddenly, she was starting to explode from anger.

"Are you saying I can't be invisible anymore? Proxy?"

"T-That wasn't what I meant—"

"Unforgivable...you are just a mere human who is carrying a curse, how come you are much more superior to us in every aspect?!"

"I don't get...what you're on about."

She went silent for awhile, as if plotting something big. Then few moments passed as she began grinning to herself. Her eyes glowed bright red, gleaming in the darkness.

"Oh, I know...if I can't be invisible in your sight—I should gouged out those eyes so you won't be able to see me~?"

Gouge out...my eyes...?

In a blink of an eye, she was now right in front of me. She lift her hands and was about to press both of her fingers in my eyes to blind me when I ordered the trees to bind her movements with their branches.

"So this is your power, huh? Proxy." she said as she suddenly started to glow.

Stretching her arms, the trees branches were torn as she ran up to me with a sharp sword in her hands.

"Too weak!" she yelled.

She's too close! I thought as I panicked, I raised up my arms to defend myself as the rocks started to float up on the ground.

"N-No! Don't come any closer!" I yelled as the rocks flew towards her, attacking her.

Throwing little rocks still wouldn't help, a huge rock float up in the sky as I raised my hand and swung it towards her direction. The huge boulder followed.

Smoke filled with grains puffed out, everything was all dusty and blurry that you couldn't make a thing out.

Did that get her? I thought.

I felt a huge slash on my back as I turned around to find a sillouthe of Emily-san, I felt blood flowing out from my fresh wound. It hurts.

Then the second wave came, this time on my leg. Blood began oozing out, it's so painful.

The third wave on my right arm, my clothes were torned. The fourth wave on my other arm.

Then came the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth. She stopped for a moment after the tenth slash.

Now my outfit was ruined, some of it was soaked from my blood. Cuts and wounds were visible from my skin, my knees were wobbly as I fell on the ground, all wounded.

It hurts...I don't want this...

I heard footsteps coming closer as I shifted from my position, looking up and saw Emily-san who was glaring down at me.

"I don't understand why a weakling like you is a proxy. You don't have any potential or strong enough to defend yourself againt a foe...so why is a pathetic girl like you even alive?!" she stomped on my hand.

I felt that stomp hit my brain, blood gushed out from my forehead. My eyes were getting blurry from blood.

But in my blurred sight, I saw a butterfly who was flying aesthetically acrossed the sky filled with stars.

And then the scenary changed...

"What are you doing, Alyssa? Are you going to wait for someone to come and save you again?"

That voice...I instantly knew it was the woman back then who would appear after I saw a strange butterfly.

I lay down on the pool of my own blood as I couldn't move my body. It was as if I lost the ability to control it, or did I even know how?

"Why...do you know...my name?"

She just smiled at me, that person kneeled down in front of me as I could only watch her every move.

"If you don't stand up, the chances of saving Gon from the curse is zero. He'll die all alone, poor boy."

She's right. I have to stand, I need to save Gon right now. While I still have a chance, before it's too late.

What...? Why can't I stand...?

I tried lifting myself from the ground, but its as if my body was being pulled by the gravity that I couldn't move. My body was too heavy.

"Move! Please...move! You're my body, aren't you? I need you to move!" I yelled to myself as my body wouldn't move a budge.

I can't move my body...I'm so useless.

Tears started to stream down my eyes, negative thoughts started to corrupt my head. Would I die like this?

"Hey, do you want power...?"

I franctily nodded, tears continued flowing out as I was really desperate to save Gon from the curse.

"Then ask for it."

My hands that are numb and almost cold, moved slowly, trying to reach the woman in front of me.

"I—"

Wait. Why would I ask for power to a person who I don't even know?

How could I trust a complete stranger?

More importantly...who is she?

"You don't have to think about anything, ask for my power and I'll gladly give it to you."

Power...I desperately need it right now. To protect those who are dear to me, to keep them safe and sound.

I need power.

"Please...lend me some of your power, I want to save Gon."

Her lips curved in a smile as I felt something painful execrute my veins, it was started to ache even more.

"Sure. I'll give as much as you want...But...I'll need to make your curse even more stronger."
