"Since you trust us now, Hey Zuko show them that new trick I taught you." Aang says to Zuko before freeing himself from the ropes.

"Well.. Here goes nothing uh... Check this out?" He says in an awkward tone before flicking 3 metal ball bearings and spinning them in his hand using air bending. He gives them an awkward smile being a bit unsure of what to do but, that seems to do it as the children on the island start cheering seeing this. One of the islanders gets so excited he starts screaming then foaming at the mouth before passing out.

Meanwhile on the other side of the island, one of the children that had been watching the spectacle with Avatar Zuko, walks over to a fisherman packing up to shove off. "Did you hear the news? The Avatar is on Kyoshi!" She shouts happily to the man which causes him to drop his nets out of shock. That same man told the rest of his crew what he was told by the young girl as they set sail to the earth kingdom mainland. Hours later, he arrives at the harbor and gives one of the peddlers some of his fish. "I learned that the Avatar is on Kyoshi Island. The Avatar is back!" He tells the merchants. As day turns to evening, the merchants tell everyone in their town that the avatar has returned and is on Kyoshi island. That evening, the last fish the fisherman had brought in that morning is sold to another man with the merchant telling him of the great news. Little did he know that the man he had sold the fish to was the personal chef to Commander Zhao of the Firenation Navy.

"So, the Avatar is on Kyoshi island... Hmm. Attention crew, ready the rhinos, helmsman set said for Kyoshi Island. He will not escape, and neither will that traitor." Zhao yells over the ship's communication tubes, quickly all of the men on board start making their preparations to head to Kyoshi Island.

"Sir, are you going to finish that?" One of the attendants asks.

"I was saving it for later!" Zhao shouts causing the man to jump in fright.

Back at Kyoshi Island, the islanders are in celebration for the return of the avatar, the statue of Kyoshi in the center of town is being cleaned and repainted, the people of the town are celebrating the avatar and all around being merry. Hope has finally returned in the form of a new avatar and unlikely one at that. Outside, Appa is being attended to by some of the farmers, being groomed and fed hay. In the center of town, in the communal hall, Aang, Katara and Zuko are gifted a platter of food in celebration of their arrival at the island. Aang greedily starts eating some of the sweets on the table that were provided to them.

"Katara you gotta try this! They really know how to treat an avatar, Huh Lee?" Aang asks with a mouthful of food as Zuko calmly takes a bite out of one of the pastries that was provided for them.

"It is very good." He replies after finishing his food.

"Well, maybe I'll just have one." Katara says taking the bun that Aang is offering her.

"You should eat too Sokka. What's your problem?"

"I'm not hungry."

"But you're always hungry." Aang protests as Sokka sulks in the corner.

"He's just upset because a bunch of girls kicked his butt yesterday." Katara teases, Zuko holds back a chuckle as Sokka scrambles to get to his feet and shout at his sister.

"They did not! It was a sneak attack and sneak attacks don't count." Sokka protests.

"Guerrilla warfare is very very useful when you are defending from an invading force, that is why the firenation has had such a difficulty taking the earth kingdom." Zuko chimes in as he grabs a second steamed bun for himself.

"Tie me up and drag me around. I'll show them a thing or two. I'm not scared of some girls, who do they think they are anyway." Sokka complains audibly to himself as he walks up to the table of sweets and snatches several buns and rolls for himself and storms off.

"How much you want to bet that he's going to get his butt kicked. Again." Lee questions with a sly smile on his face, wanting to watch Sokka get his whooped again.

"It isn't a matter of if in his case, but when he gets his butt kicked." Katara says with a laugh.

"Why is he so angry anyways, we're being treated like royalty. Besides do you see how happy Lee is making this town?" Aang questions.

"It's dangerous for us to stay in one place for too long Aang, we have to get to the north pole to find a waterbirding master for Lee and myself. How are we ever going to learn if the most I can do is give whoever is standing behind me an impromptu bath." Katara protests their long stay.

"Word travels faster than anything on the earth. I'm starting to get worried that other places might know we're here. This town does have a trading port, goods and news travel fast through towns like this." Zuko reasons as he stands up from his spot on the tatami mat floor and stares out an open window at Avatar Kyoshi. "It is nice to see them clean up the statue of her."

"Well, it's nice to see you getting used to being the Avatar Lee, but don't let it go to your head." Katara says as Zuko leans slightly out of the window causing some of the local girls to scream seeing him.

"Ugh... I hate the attention." He complains hearing their screams.

"You do know those are screams of affection not disgust right?" Katara questions.

"Feels like disgust with this scar on my face." Both of them noticed a change in his town, to that of a more depressive and self conscious state.

"Well you better get going, one of the village elders wants to paint you." Aang says as Zuko flicks up the hood of his parka and walks out of the building.

The rest of the morning, Zuko spent it running away from the village girls. He didn't understand their infatuation with him, so he tried to avoid them. Running over a bridge then having to run back as a second group of the girls were on the other side. Seeing no other alternative and being cornered, he launches himself in the air with the little airbending he knows, trying to avoid them. But that doesn't work for very long as gravity ends up winning in the end and he is dropped into their clutches. Just when he thought he lost them, he headed up the side of the mountain to a secluded spot where one of the elders had asked him to go. He stood still and semi awkwardly in front of a waterfall as the older man attempted to paint him. But, it seems that luck isn't with Zuko today as every time the painter looks at the canvas he is working on, more of the village girls seemingly congregate around him like moths to a lamp.

Later on in the day, Aang and Katara make their way back out to the water where they had landed when they arrived. Aang is still determined to ride the elephant koi. As Katara watches from the shoreline, the massive Unagi emerges from the water and tries to attack Aang, raising him out of the water using it's giant body. He is thrown from the creature as it blasts him with water sending the air bender flying. As he impacts the water, Katara screams seeing him go unconscious before rushing to get him, barely managing to evade the strike from the towering geyser eel that is attacking them. With a shove she propels herself backwards to the shore with an unconscious Aang in her arms. As she is trying to resuscitate him, something causes her stomach to drop. The smoke plume of a firenation ship a commander's flag ship.

"Oh no..." She says out loud before bending the water out of Aang's lungs waking him up. "Aang, we need to go. The Firenation is here." She says picking him up and rushing towards a rock for cover. Above them, a firenation commander and several soldiers on Rhinos march past them.

"I want the Avatar alive, and if you find that traitor, capture him too." Zhao commands to the troops following him on Rhino back.

Back at the village, Sokka is training with Suki after having been beaten then begging for them to train him. As the two spar, Sokka manages to land a blow on Suki's armor which elicits a compliment from the seasoned warrior. "Not bad Sokka." She says causing him to blush under the make up.

"Fire benders have landed on our shores! Girls come quickly!" The village chief yells through the Dojo where the two are training alone. Suki quickly takes off after him with Sokka protesting being called a girl, despite currently dressed as a Kyoshi warrior and in full make-up.

In the center of town, 5 Rhino riders and Zhao commanding them observe the small village looking for anyone. Zhao shouts at them: "Come out Avatar! We know you're here." but gets no response as the villagers tuck themselves away in their homes trying to be unseen. With the command from Zhao, the soldiers begin marching through the town searching for the avatar and the prince. Unbeknownst to them, the Kyoshi warriors lurk in the shadow and alleys of the town, the fire cavalry are completely unaware that they are surrounded as the warriors dash between buildings and roof tops preparing an ambush. Suddenly a group of them fly down from the tops of the buildings taking down the helmeted soldiers behind the riders seated on the rhinos. Quickly knocking them out before disarming the spear wielding soldiers left on top of the rhino. Suki makes an attack for Zhao, him missing several fire balls thrown at her but manages to slap the oncoming warrior commander out of the way with the animal's tail. Just as he is about to finish her off, Sokka appears and disperses the flames with one of his fans and throws the other at Zhao, sending him from his mount.

While Zhao is on the ground three more of the warriors surround him and expose their weapons insinuating him to give up. With a sudden blast of fire from his feet, he sends all of them flying or rushing away to avoid getting burned. "Relying on women to protect you. How cowardly, Show yourself Avatar!" Zhao commands standing in the middle of the road through town and yelling. "Hey! Behind you!" Zuko shouts throwing off his parka and revealing his air nomad clothing that Aang had made for him. By his side is Aang's glider staff with Aang on top of the roof above Zhao.

"So. The plucky coward of a prince pretends to be the Avatar. How low you have fallen Prince Zuko. Your treachery of the Firenation warrants Execution. ON SIGHT!!!" Zhao yells before sending a blast of fire towards Avatar Zuko.

Zuko nimbly dodges the first ball of fire before cutting the second away with his own flames. Continuing his movement he jumps up in the air and twirls the staff around using airbending to hover. As he is above Zhao he slices at the ground with the staff letting loose a vertical gust of wind that covers the area in powdered snow. Zhao expels fire all around him turing the snow to steam in an instant before starting to fight Zuko. With a single kick, the inexperienced air bender has the staff ripped from his hands causing him to back pedal. Fortunately on the ground a couple of the bladed fans the warriors use are nearby. Scooping them up as he moves, Zuko jumps and spins creating a deluge of wind and fire before directing the attack into Zhao sending him flying. He crashes into the side of one of the shops he had set ablaze as Zuko closes the fans. Running past him, Aang grabs Zuko by the wrist and then picks up his staff and throwing it in the air. Both master and student lunge into the air and grab onto the glider with Aang providing the air for lift and Zuko the fire for the thrust to get away. Beneath them they look out at the destruction Zhao had caused and Zuko is saddened at the destruction and inferno that had been left behind. Behind them, the statue of Kyoshi stand burning as they land on the ground to pick up Katara. Zuko punches the ground in anger before glaring at the fire nation soldiers.

"Zuko. Zuko don't do it." Aang says as Zuko takes Aang's staff and starts walking towards the overlook of the village. With a single angered swing, Zuko creates an invisible typhoon of air force extinguishing the flames from the burning buildings. "Does he get stronger when he is angry?" Aang thinks to himself. Sokka rushes back to them having had his face stained with Suki's lipstick.

"Appa Yip Yip!" Aang commands as Momo flies in from above, the giant creature taking to the skies and quickly flying over the island towards the same cove they entered from.

"I know it's hard Zuko but we have to leave, that commander will destroy the place if we stay!" Katara says trying to console him but doesn't get a response, before she can stop him, Zuko jumps off Appa and dives into the water using fire from his feet to propel himself faster, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!" She shouts at him.

Just as Zhao and the soldiers make their wak back onto their ship, a silhouette of a massive creature emerges from the water beneath them. The Unagi had reappeared and now has Zuko holding on to it's Whiskers controlling the beast. With a yank, the creature sprays it's jet of water at the ship nearly capsizing the boat due to the force of the water. Zuko leaps off the top of the creature and uses airbending to blast from the creature's nose propelling him into the sky before grabbing onto Appa's fur. Down below, the village elder looks on as they make their escape from the island. "Avatar Zuko. Thank you for protecting my people, but I hope you will be the one to end this war. Son of the Fire Lord." The elder says as he watches them fly away.

"Who was that guy anyways?" Aang questions as Zuko hoists himself into the saddle of the flying bison.

"Commander Zhao, second in command in the fire nation navy. He answers only to the Admiral and the firelord. It will take time for my father to find out that I am the avatar or he might just disregard Zhao and call him a madman." Zuko says which sends waves of anxiety over each of them. The firenation now knows it's prince will be its undoing.
