Something about Taruna has been keeping Katsuki's mind occupied, so much so that he hasn't been able to sleep. Recalling the interaction with Taruna the previous day, Katsuki saw Taruna flick his fingers upwards as he raised his hand to grab Momo's. The way that he did so is what irks Katsuki about Taruna. As the clock strikes 11pm, Katsuki rolls out of bed unable to sleep walking over to his laptop. Opening the computer, he quickly searches through anything that he can about bloodbenders. The first article that comes up is about Yakone, a blood bender from over 300 years ago that was a crime lord in Republic City. He was defeated by Avatar Aang after escaping from the courtroom at his trial. However the article doesn't say anything about how he used bloodbending or its techniques. The next happened during Avatar Korra's time, a bloodbender that was the son of Yakone named Noatak created an equalist uprising and used bloodbending to remove people's ability to bend.

"Where the hell is anything on what the techniques look like?" Katsuki asks himself, as he goes back to the previous page and tweaks his search. "Descriptions of blood bending techniques." He narrates to himself before pressing enter.

The next thing that he reads through is the report of the bloodbender that was killed by Endeavor during a police sting 20 years ago. The villain had been using bloodbending to abduct victims, kill them and cannibalize the bodies, the pro hero was forced to kill him after his partner Hisashi was puppeteered by the bloodbender and forced into attacking Enji. Underneath it there's a description from Endeavor, the police chief Tsuragamae of the bending style used by the villain. "The villain by the name of Kyuketsuki was an extremely powerful waterbender and a bloodbender with almost 57 victims to his name." Katsuki scrolls down through the article looking for where they describe how he uses the bending style. "Kyuketsuki's bending techniques were completely foreign to any style of bending I've ever seen. His hands were out stretched and fingers splayed as if puppetting a marionette. Flicking his fingers allowed him to move the victim against their control." Katsuki grins when he sees this as the dots connect in his mind.

Deciding to put an end to this nightmare before it could get worse, Katsuki closes the computer and begins searching through his clothes looking for his training attire. If he's gonna pick a fight, he better be well dressed for it. As he's putting on his Gi, he doesn't notice the light of the full moon coming through his window. As he's putting these details together, he's startled by the sound of something heavy dropping outside of his door. It wasn't just one thing he heard hitting the floor but two and this realization causes his eyes to widen. Katsuki slowly makes his way to the door and as he enters the sunken forier to his room he immediately notices Ice forming over the lock and handle of the door before the lock clicks open. Not being close enough to the door to spy through the peephole he takes a gamble and inhales slowly before preparing to flex his muscles and fire.

Every single member of the fire academy and Yue academy are woken up by the massive explosion and the shaking building. The blast completely obliterated the door and part of the wall of the hallway setting it on fire. The explosion destroyed part of the wall to Kaminari's room that was directly across the hall from Katsuki's. The fire suppression system in the hall turns on and begins spraying water all over the formerly ocean blue now charred black carpeting. The students peak their heads out of the rooms looking at the destruction as Burnin' and Madam Blast round the corner to see what had happened. Every single one of the guards, waterbender and metal bender alike were already dead and none of them were close enough to the explosion to have been killed by it. "Where's Katsuki?!" Mitsuki asks as Izuku comes running down from the other end of the hall, seeing the massive hole that destroyed both rooms, he immediately runs into Katsuki's room to find that the back wall has also been destroyed revealing the moonlight behind them. "The hell happened here?" Mitsuki asks as she runs into the room following Izuku. As they get to the destroyed ledge outside they see Katsuki throwing fireballs towards one of the water tribe students who's retaliating back at him. As the fight breaks out, snow begins falling and quickly starts getting harder.

"I fuckin knew it! You're the damn bloodbender you freak!" Katsuki yells before leaning forwards and flexing his abs shooting off a combustion beam towards Taruna. "Stay still damnit, You'll be easier to blast to bits that way!" He shouts before firing off another beam from his forehead. This one impacts one of the cars in the parking lot creating two more explosions.

"Blood bender? The hell's he talking about?" Moe asks as Izuku takes a few steps back before jumping off the third story ledge in order to join the fight. "Mitsuki?" Moe asks, turning to see the other woman ripping the headband off of her head preparing to enter the battle.

"Hahahaha! I'm surprised that you figured it out so fast." Taruna laughs, creating a waterspout around his legs in order to get the height advantage over Katsuki. "What tipped me off huh?"

"That fuckin hand movement you did this morning you freak." Katsuki yells before firing a combustion beam into the water spout that's holding Taruna up. The explosion evaporated most of the water in an instant. "What did we ever do huh?"

"Not you... him." Taruna says as Izuku launches a lightning bolt down towards the two of them separating the two fighters.

"Katsuki what the hell?! You're gonna get arrested!" Izuku shouts as he shifts his stance to focus towards Katsuki rather than Taruna.

"He's a blood bender, you idiot! He's the one behind a-" Katsuki yells before his body suddenly seizes up. A look of fear washes over his face as his body spasms with each attempt he tries to make to move against this. Izuku's eyes widen in shock and fear before turning in horror towards Taruna who's grinning evilly at Izuku.

"The man of the hour appears, and here I thought I'd have to take each and every one of you disgusting firebenders." Taruna grins, as he yanks his left hand forwards causing Katsuki to be pulled towards Izuku. "The fire in this world will be extinguished." He snarls, the once icy blue in his eyes turning a blood red.

"You want to wipe out firebending?!" Izuku asks as he has to duck underneath the forced attack from Katsuki. "We've atoned for the 100 years war, and have done countless good for the world. Why destroy another bending discipline?"

"You are a fool Avatar, you can't even see that the other disciplines are nothing but a curse on the world. The impure must be purged, the fires extinguished by the tides of change." Taruna says before the mad smile on his face grows wider and he curls one of his fingers. All of a sudden Izuku has to duck underneath a fireball thrown by Katsuki.

"Deku, he can force me to bend!" Katsuki yells as Taruna continues to puppeteer Katsuki's body forcing him to launch several fire blasts towards Izuku.

Taruna's maniacal laughter echoes through the surroundings as Izuku dodges and dissipates several of the fireballs. He tries to target Taruna with an attack of his own but the moment he goes to bend towards the madman, Taruna yanks Katsuki in the way of the attack. From above them, Izuku hears the tell-tale signs of a combustion beam heading straight for them. Taruna smiles before yanking Katsuki upwards directly in front of the beam forcing Izuku to intervene. The only thing Izuku can see of the beam shot by Mitsuki is the disturbed falling snow, using his airbending he sprints as fast as he can to intersect the attack that Mitsuki had fired. Jumping a clear 15ft in the air Izuku thrusts both hands forwards airbending a massive torrent of air towards the combustion beam. The cone of air causes the beam to collapse in on itself forming a small yellow dot before exploding outwards throwing Izuku backwards and into Katsuki. Thankfully the airbending had prevented the beam from striking Katsuki head on but Izuku took the brunt of the impact hitting Katsuki due to the shock wave before plummeting to the ground.

"Stop! He's using Katsuki as a shield!" Izuku shouts before spinning on the ground and airbending towards Taruna in order to try to sever the blood bender's attention. This time the attack connects and Taruna ends up dropping his control over Katsuki for a second as his legs are swept out from under him. Katsuki falls flat on his face in the snow before quickly getting to his feet.

"Use me against my will!? Make me attack my best friend and my mother?!" Katsuki snarls as he lunges forwards and throws a double fisted punch creating a massive fireball towards Taruna that grows to almost the size of the entire resort. "Die you piece of shit!" He shouts as the flames rip through the night air.

"No, I'm not going to be the one that dies tonight." Taruna says as he appears from within the intensifying blizzard. He yanks his hands upwards causing Katsuki to once again seize up and this time he ends up grabbing Mitsuki out of mid air as she jumps in to help Izuku in the fight. "What are you gonna do now, Avatar?" Taruna asks sarcastically before starting to laugh. He clenches his fingers on the hand controlling Mitsuki forcing her to fire a combustion beam towards Izuku.

Fighting a forced three versus one, Izuku can't counter attack since Taruna will just move either his best friend or his aunt towards the attack and use them as a human shield. The combustion beam impacts the ground mere inches away from Izuku, with hardly any time to react to the attack. Izuku creates a dome of fire around himself in order to protect against the impact. The blast sends him flying, bouncing against the ground as he hits it. From above them, Momo rushes over to the destroyed edge of the building to watch the fight, watching in horror as Izuku gets blasted back from the shot fired from Mitsuki. She almost begins to create a bolt of lightning to attack Taruna but Moe lifts her hand in order to stop her. "Don't, he'll just pull them into the line of fire and Midoriya is already in enough trouble as is." Momo stops her movement and is left powerless only able to watch as Izuku faces down against this monster.

Knowing there's no reasoning with a monster, Izuku elects to try and end the fight by either knocking out or killing Taruna. With airbending being nearly invisible, the only sign that it is being used is the disturbed snow or dust around it. He could try to choke out Taruna at least until he passes out but that would require time and that's something he doesn't have. He narrowly dodges a fireball that was forced from Katsuki, before having to catch one and spin it into the ground that was thrown from Mitsuki. As he narrows the distance between him and Taruna, he points his index and middle fingers out and starts to create a large circle around himself. Bluish white lightning begins to crackle through the air causing Taruna's eyes to narrow at what Izuku is planning. With barely any time to react, Taruna kicks a leg upwards causing some of the snow on the ground to melt into an orb of water that's flung into Izuku's extended hand a fraction of a second in time to prevent him from firing the lightning bolt center mass into Taruna's chest. The bolt of lightning is fired harmlessly into the night sky, Taruna throws a series of kicks while holding on to Mitsuki and Katsuki. Each kick melts the surrounding snow and slams Izuku in the stomach with a stream of water launching him backwards.

As Izuku pushes himself up to his hands and knees he looks up at Taruna who's attention has shifted from him to the ledge of the building that Momo is standing on. "Well, since you went for the kill..." Izuku's eyes narrow as he jumps to his feet trying to counter whatever Taruna is planning. "It's only fair that I do too!" Taruna shouts before drawing both arms inwards pulling both combustion benders directly in front of him. His arm movements aim both Katsuki and Mitsuki towards the ledge where Momo and the class are standing. "Say goodbye to your princess Avatar!" Taruna declares before flexing his fingers. "Nooo!!!" Izuku shouts as he snatches his hands upwards, his fingers flayed and curled in towards his palm. Suddenly both Mitsuki and Katsuki drop from the air landing on the ground before turning to face Taruna. The bloodbender is twitching under the effects of the bending being used against him. His teeth gritting from the strain of trying to fight this off. Katsuki switches his attention to Izuku and sees him posed like a puppet master before the place is surrounded by cops. Each of them drawing their weapons and pointing them towards Taruna as several of the metal benders rush in to cuff him.

"This man attacked and abducted several of the students from the firebending academy and used bloodbending on them, my son and myself to do it." Mitsuki says as the metal bending police fire cables at Taruna in order to restrain his hands. "Officer Horo, bring this man up on charges of kidnapping, bloodbending, vandalism, assault and battery and attempted murder." The black haired man walks up to Taruna before striking him twice in a pressure point causing the blood bender's body to go slack.

"What is the avatar doing to him?" Horo asks, noticing Izuku's hand posture and pose towards Taruna.

"Avatar Izuku was forced to bloodbend Taruna in order to prevent him from killing his classmates and us." Mitsuki responds, which prompts a few of the metalbender police to fire cables at Izuku, only to have them severed by a blast of fire from Mitsuki. "Avatar Izuku has diplomatic immunity and was acting under my authority." She says prompting the officers to stand down.

"Sir, please relax your bending. We have this from here." Officer Horo says as Izuku drops his arms, panting heavily from the fight that had taken place. "Alright, we'll take this from here." Horo announces as Momo rushes up to Izuku, practically tackling him in a tight hug.

"He was gonna use them to combustion bend at you Momo..." Izuku says as he embraces her just as tightly. "It's alright, you're safe and our friends are gonna be alright." he says before she pushes him outwards before slamming her lips against his.

"Get that piece of shit out of my sight." Mitsuki demands as the officers cart Taruna's unconscious form off as they place a pair of chi blocking restraints. "Ugh, this is gonna be one hell of a paper work load. Before this goes any further." Mitsuki says as she gestures her hand around Izuku and Momo now making out in the snow. "I suggest you take this back to your hotel room, and take one of these Izuku." Mitsuki says before handing Izuku a tinfoil square shaped object and walking over to Katsuki to check up on him.

A few days later, the police of Anchorage would find the missing students and other firebenders that had been kidnapped in a cave deep in the ice fields. After the missing people were recovered and tended to, the police aloud release a statement to the public. The man known as Taruna was trying to start a terrorist organization named the extinguished. A group of water tribesmen dead set on wiping out any and all firebenders. He's been responsible for the disappearances of dozens of firebenders over the past few months. Though the use of bloodbending has been illegal for generations the fact that the avatar is capable and has used bloodbending cannot go unaddressed. Since the avatar is the highest authority in the bending world, the officials have decided that the use of bloodbending will only be permitted to be used by the avatar himself. The only silver lining to come out of this is that Izuku has gotten past his mental block and has unlocked the ability to waterbend. Thankfully the rest of their time at Anchorage went without issue, with Izuku and Momo taking another step in their relationship. Sharing their first proper kiss in the hot springs on the last night in Anchorage.
