"Everyone, we have a new family member, Yuuichirou, please make him welcome here, okay?"

"Okay!"

The director of the Hyakuya Orphanage introduced a new boy that will be joining them with the other kids, Shiro's eyes widened when she recognised the young boy.

"Oh, it's Yuu! I missed you~!" the albino haired girl hurriedly ran and hugged the new boy, making everyone surprised.

"H-Hey, let go!" the black haired boy squirmed from her grip until he was finally free from her.

"Shiro-chan...you know each other?"

"Yup! I met him in the same day when you came to save me, Mika!"

Mika nodded, then Shiro turned to Yuu as she flashed one of her warm and adorable smiles.

"It's nice to see you again, but what I didn't expect is to meet you here."

"...Whatever,"

Yuu tucked his hands on his pocket as he walked away, he gave Shiro a cold shoulder which made the girl slightly depressed of his attitude.

Shiro and Mika decided to make friends with Yuu as the two of them walked at him while he was taking his red coat out of his blue bag.

"Hey there, my name is Mikaela. I'm an orphan like you, but I have a big family now."

"Family? That's stupid," The two kids flinched after they heard Yuu's harsh words about the term family.

"I came here because I was almost killed by my father, my mother screamed about me being a demon child, and then killed herself—"

"That must have been hard, but starting now, we're a family!" Shiro beamed happily while raising her hands in the air as she grinned.

"Do you even understand what I'm trying saying?"

"Not really,"

"Then, just go away—!"

"Indeed, I don't understand your past but, I know how you feel...you were really sad and lonely, right?"

"I-I'm not lonely!"

"Yeah, that's because you have us now, your one, big family!" Shiro hugged him as he was stunned at how many times she'd have hugged him.

Once again, Yuu pushed Shiro away, rejected both her and Mika's friend request, somehow it made the blonde kind of mad so he challenged him.

"Hey Yuu, are you challenging me? Let me get on the bat, but I'm the king here and Shiro-chan is the queen!"

"I'm the queen? Aww, but I preferred being called as the princess though, oh whatever!" Shiro just shrugged off her shoulders what Mika said, it made Yuu slightly pissed.

"You want a fight? Sure,"

"Your on!"

They started to fight as Mika has the winning lead, he gave Yuu a serious beating, to the point that his foe fell on the floor and couldn't stand up.

The children clapped as Mika won the fight, leaving Yuu utterly defeated by the blonde, he underestimated him.

"Yay! Mika-nii won!"

"That's amazing!"

"I want to be as cool and strong as Mika-niichan!"

Shiro walked up to the fallen boy as she crouched and looked down on his face, it was like a beaten egg.

"Are you okay, Yuu?" she asked while her crimson orbs met his sharp green ones, he stared up to her.

"I'm fine, anyways—one more try!"

"Sure, but you're going to lose."

"Not this time,"

They battled once again as Yuu lost again, now he didn't dared to stand a fight against Mika again.

Night time came as all of the children in the orphanage were asleep, except Shiro. She walked out of the room where they were instructed to sleep at, she continued to waltz through the hallways as she reached the veranda of the house.

"It's cold out here," she said as the cold air slapped against her skin, she stared at the starry sky above her.

A smile crept her face as her lips curved in a cute demeanour, she was mesmerised of the sparkling stars in the wide, scape of sky.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be sleeping?" she turned to the owner of the voice as she saw Yuu.

"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to stare at the sky for awhile." Yuu hummed in reply as she turned her attention back to the sky, the boy walked towards her and stood beside her.

"You know what? I like the stars, they inspired me in how they can shine so brightly despite the dark sky."

"Well...isn't that this Orphanage called Hyakuya? It means hundred nights."

"Hundred nights, huh? That is a really pretty name, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

He stared at her bright, innocent smile as he gave her a gentle gaze and smiled a little bit.

"Oh, that's the first time you smiled since you came here!"

"H-Huh? I'm not smiling!"

"But you just did,"

"Shut up."

There was a long silence for awhile as they shared the peace together while stargazing, wind slapped against their skin as they seem not to mind, in fact it is refreshing and calming.

"Hey Yuu, what's your last name?"

"My last name?"

"Yeah, tell me!" she beamed while staring up to his green orbs, he averted his gaze from her as he look down.

"I don't remember my last name, how about you? What's yours?"

"...Yukimura is my last name, but now it's Hyakuya, this place is what I can call home of my own."

A few days passed the night dawned once again, that's when everything started to become so twisted, the humanity was perished by the people who claimed themselves as vampires.

"Oh no, the director isn't breathing anymore!"

"Geez...what is happening?"

The kids of the Hyakuya Orphanage whined, scared because the person who took care of them just died.

Suddenly, a vampire step in the veranda and broke the glass as the fragments of shards fell on the floor, they walked inside as they captivated the remnants of humanity which were only kids of age 13 and below.

The children were taken custody and was taken to the vampire reign, locked up and lived as live stocks of blood.

That's where everything started, the roots of hatred, vengeance, and revenge. All of it started there, in the city of vampires.
