~Five~
A/N: Alright guys so...gotta be honest. Once I finish posting the completed parts of my stories on here (I haven't finished the books), I won't be uploading anymore. It has been a great ride and I love all of the support that you guys have given me over the years, but lately, I have noticed that my writing is not as good as it used to be nor is it satisfactory enough for me. Anytime I try to sit down and write, I immediately get a block and don't know how to continue. I know how I want all of my stories to end, and what events I want to happen in them, but getting there from point A-Z and all letters in between is something that I honestly can't figure out right now. I loved the ride that I had. I am amazed that His reached one million reads! As that is what started all of this. And I could not have done that without you all, so I thank you for that. I'm not saying I am giving up completely, but I guess for now writing has to take a backseat while I handle other more pressing matters in my life like my mental health, getting into graduate school in a couple of years, and also just making sure my life turns out as I want it to be. This isn't the end by a long shot, but this block has been here for so long I am afraid I have lost my touch as a writer, and by proxy, my passion for it as well. My books will still be up here, they are not going anywhere. There is a story I am currently trying to write and finish, as well as these. But at this point I can not give a definite finish date. Once again, thank you all, I appreciate every comment and like and read and I really hope that when I do find my mojo, that I can give you all the endings you guys deserve. Thank you, and enjoy!
Brandi
Since Saturday's were my days off, I decided today that I would pamper myself. With my date at eight tonight, I absolutely wanted to look like a genuine knockout. So, I decided that I would get my feet and nails done, my hair done, and even buy a new dress for tonight. I couldn't believe I was so excited to be going out so soon with a guy I barely knew, but I had to keep telling myself that it was just for fun. Who knows, maybe we'd become friends.
I was getting dressed when there was a knock at my door.
"Yeah?" I asked
"Hey B, you have a visitor." Amber yelled through the door
Confused, I quickly put on my shirt and opened the door. Amber had on her exercise gear, no doubt just coming back from a run.
"Who is it? I wasn't expecting anyone today."
"It's Caine. I was going to curse him out but I thought maybe you'd want to do it."
"Oh, well I don't want to see him, have at it." I said dismissively, walking back into my room
"Going out huh?" She smiled
"Yeah, I have a date tonight. You want to come with, I'm having a pampering day." I asked excitedly
"You know, I'd love to. Give me a second to go shower and change. You aren't in a rush are you?" She asked
"Nope, we have time."
"Alright, be right back."
Knowing Amber, she'd be in the shower at least thirty minutes, which gave me ample time to make myself something to eat. I knew Caine was still waiting outside and honestly, he could wait an eternity for all I cared. And like I planned, I made me some eggs and toast, nothing too major, and enjoyed them with a glass of orange juice. After I finished, Amber came out dressed and ready to go, and we headed towards the front door. When I opened it, I was surprised to see Caine still standing there. It had been almost two hours at this point...why was he still here?
"Brandi, can I talk to you?"
I didn't even look at him, and instead turned towards Amber like he wasn't standing there.
"Do you have everything Amber?" I asked her
"Yep, flip flops and all. Let's hit it." She smiled
We both ignored Caine and shut the door behind us, walking towards Amber's Acura.
"Brandi come on, don't be like this." Caine yelled behind us.
Still ignoring him, I got into Amber's car and shut my door.
"It's now or never. I'm all for the silent treatment, but I also want you to get some closure. Are you okay with this?" She asked me
"I can get closure and not have to talk to him, let's just go."
She nodded and started the car, driving us away without a second glance. During the ride I was quiet.
"You okay?" She asked me after a few minutes
"Yeah. I just have nothing to say to him. I can't believe what he did! You know it was with Maria of all people? How could he?! I've spent countless hours telling him how horrible her and Cecilia are to me, and little did I know, I just helped those two shack up."
"He is such an asshole! Man I wish you would've told me this before hand, I would've gotten one of the security guys at my agency to handle him, he owes me a favor."
"He is seriously not even worth it. I just want to forget him, after all, all I was to him was a fuck buddy and nothing more. I deserve more than that."
"Yes you do. But forget him, better men are out there."
"Exactly."
"So, I remember you mentioning a date tonight. Who with?"
"Just some guy. I met him on the night my tire blew. He even owns the club that we went to last night."
"Whoa, really!? That's pretty cool."
"Yeah, he owns another three across town as well."
"I wonder if he's super rich from this."
"Eh, probably. But I'm not interested in his money. I hope he's not the type to flaunt it around. I mean, he even owns a Tesla!"
"Wow, he must be really rich."
"Maybe. But I hope that's not all he is you know?"
"Yeah, I hear you. So, are you nervous?"
"Not really. To be honest, I'm still getting over what Caine did to me, but I'm not going to let him stop me from living and having fun."
"That's my girl. Now just remember, it's only a first date, you aren't obligated to do anything. And if you feel it's not going well, I'll be happy to come and get you."
"I think it'll go well. And if not, I'm not too worried. "
"Just go and have a good time. You know we'll want details later." She smiled, as we pulled up to the salon.
"That's because y'all are so nosey. And you know how Jack gets." I laughed
We both walked in giggling and checked in at the front desk.
"Trust me girl, I know. I love him but damn, sometimes I just want to sock him." Amber replied as we were lead back to the pedicure chairs.
"He means well. And you know, with him and Evan thinking about moving to Cali soon, I have to get all the antics in I can."
"True. Look at us, I can't believe we won't all be together soon. Of course, you and me will still be together, but Jack and Evan might be moving over 1,000 miles away and with Ellie in the Dominican Republic for another year, it's just so much happening so fast."
"I know. I can't help but be sad you know? I know it wasn't going to last forever but still, I actually like living with you guys. We've become like a family."
"We are family. And nothing will ever change that."
I smiled towards her and nodded.
"You're right. I just really miss Ellie, I often worry about her over there."
"Me too, but you know this is what she wanted to do. She always makes us proud, and I'm glad she seems to be happy."
"Me too Ambs. I just you know... can't forget that night. I can't believe it got so bad, and we didn't even notice. I mean, I know she had a bad break up with Leo and all...but I didn't think it would lead to that. She seemed fine, she was going to work and was smiling...and then all of a sudden it just seemed to stop."
"You know how Els is, she isn't the type to open up a lot about her problems. But she's still here with us, and that's all that matters."
"I'm going to call her, I want to see what she's up to."
I pulled up skype on my phone and started to dial, hopefully she'd pick up.
When she did however, I noticed she was in a different location.
"Hey guys, what's up?" She smiled
"Hey Els, we miss you."
"I miss y'all too. Where are you two?"
"In the salon, B has a date tonight with some mystery man. So, we're here getting pampered."
"A date huh? Sounds exciting. How'd you meet the guy?"
"Believe it or not, I was a damsel in distress for once in my life and I was stuck on the side of a country road because my tire blew and I wasn't able to get the lugnuts off of my car. So, he came to help me."
"That's pretty cool. So, what's his n-"
"Ellie, are you coming back to bed?" I heard a voice ask in the background.
"In a minute. I'm talking to my friends."
"I'm getting cold amour, come back. Also, the ice cream is melting."
She looked back towards the camera and playfully rolled her eyes.
"Okay, who is that? Are you getting some?!" I asked excitedly
I asked a bit too loudly, because several people looked at me. I calmed down a bit and refocused on Ellie.
"Heh, something like that. Gotta go! Love you guys." She laughed, ending the chat.
Both me and Amber looked at the other wide eyed.
"Okay, I see she is doing very well." I laughed
We spent the whole time talking while our feet and nails were attended to. After that was finished, I went towards the sink and had my hair washed. I decided on getting my curls straightened in a sleek blowout, and Amber decided on getting just a simple trim.
~~~~
I spent two hours in the chair and was finally released. I hadn't gotten a blow out in years, and I had forgotten how smooth my hair felt. It was like water.
"Your hair looks great like that." Amber commented as we walked next door to the boutique
"It's been so long since I've had a blowout that I forgot how it felt."
"No doubt about it, he won't be able to keep his eyes off of you."
I started sorting through the racks trying to find the dress. I skipped so many red dresses I was starting to think that maybe the universe was trying to tell me something.
"Brandi, I found this great black dress I think you'd like!"
I looked over and saw a dress with horizontal slats going down the lenth. They were sheer but didn't cross any places that would make it inappropriate. It was tasteful and very alluring, I had to get it.
"That's perfect! I'm going to get it."
"Try It on, let's see how it looks."
I took the dress from her and walked into the nearest dressing room. Within minutes I had the dress on, and of course it looked perfect on me.
"Yes, this is definitely the dress." I said aloud
"I told you. You know I have taste." I heard her smile
I decided to get redressed in my clothes and walked out of the dressing room with the dress draped over my arm. I noticed Amber wasn't there and went to go look for her. When I did find her, she was signing someone's autograph. With her being a model and all, this was starting to be an often occurrence. Ever since she did a Victoria's Secret show, she was more recognizable and fans always came up to her. There were even times guys proposed marriage, even though she didn't know them. One guy even wanted to take her shopping on his dime (he was very much older of course). Everyday she came home, there was always a new story. By time I had gotten out of the line after paying for my dress, the guy was still talking to her.
"...So I was wondering, would you maybe want to go out sometime?"
"Sorry, I'm actually seeing someone but I'm flattered."
"Aw come on, it's just one date. I'm sure they would understand, you are a model after all."
I walked up next to her and slipped my hand in hers.
"Hey babe, you ready to go?" I asked her, looking at the guy
Believe it or not, I've had to do this before, especially when a guy just didn't take the hint.
"Um, yeah. I was just talking to one of my nice fans."
"She's amazing isn't she? Well, we really have to go now so, bye!" I smiled, leading Amber out of the shop
"I am so glad you came when you did! I was starting to get really nervous." Amber said when we were safety in the car
"It's a shame that some men just doesn't know the word no. "
"Can you believe that sometimes Cairo will be with me and men will still ask me out? It's ridiculous! But enough of that, we gotta get home and get you glammed up."
"You okay though?"
"Yeah, it happens all the time. I'm actually used to it by now."
