Part 02: Chapter 04

Jimin's farm was located about three miles north of the pack's home, near the edge of the pine forest. To the south of it was a large green meadow and there was a stream running through the rear of the farm. It was named Estate of the Welfare by Taehyung. Jimin used to find the name cheesy, but he had no way to oppose him. Hoseok and Jungkook made a wood board and put it up on the roof of the cabin on the farm following Namjoon's idea. Yoongi and Seokjin already painted it blue and pink.

Actually, the farm was the property that Jimin inherited after his father passed away. Apparently, it was nothing compared to what his father owned, such as dozens of factories across the country, hundreds of hectares of residential land scattered everywhere, or a luxury cruise ship that always occupied a glorious place of the harbor in the capital. Although the farm was the biggest asset he owned, and it made his life so much better than before his father died and he met his mates, Jimin never thought that was enough to make up for what he and his mother had gone through. His father was rich but he was not from that wealthy family. His mother worked at a tavern, where she met his father and fell in love. He promised to marry her as his second mate but all he had done was abandon her and his illegitimate unborn son. Then the past was a terribly sharp knife, leaving his heart bled with long lacerations.

When Jimin had a break after cleaning the stables on the cabin porch with the boys, he spotted a horse-drawn carriage heading towards the farm. It didn't take long for him to realize who they were. Jimin immediately stood up to his feet, and the boys followed him. He took off his cowhide fedora and flashed a big smile when he noticed Taehyung waving at him.

"Hoy, Jiminie!" Taehyung called, his voice was so cheerful that Jimin felt warm in his heart. Yoongi sat next to Taehyung, a gray scarf draped over his head. He looked calmer than the younger omega but couldn't hide the smile on his petal-colored lips either.

Jimin ran towards the two omegas as they were about to stop in front of the cabin. He could already hear Taehyung's chuckle as he pulled on the horse's reins. Taehyung's eyes curved as the crescent moons and his mouth formed a cute boxy shape as he grinned, he also held out his hand in front of him like he wanted Jimin to carry him off the carriage. Yoongi wasn't as hasty as Taehyung, he was still sitting upright, but looking at Jimin with expectant eyes, his smile appearing modestly like a flower bud and his rosy cheeks peeking out from the scarf. He wanted to be held like a bride too, didn't he? Jimin thought, but he wanted to tease his mates a bit, so he went straight to the horse and planted a kiss on its head.

"Hi, Thora. I miss you so much," Jimin heard the boys behind him laugh out loud. When he raised his head up, he saw Taehyung glancing at him and pouting. Jimin could not help but burst into laughter because of his mate's adorableness. They were the same age, but sometimes Jimin thought he was older himself.

Not letting his mate wait too long, Jimin quickly walked over to Taehyung's side with a bright smile. When he lifted him up, the omega immediately wrapped his legs around Jimin's waist and lowered his head to kiss him deeply. Jimin could clearly feel Taehyung's chapped lips because of the cold wind against his but he still loved them, still coveted them, and enjoyed the taste of sweetness. He found his chest filled with affection, like blood rushing through his heart and watering love into the desert where languished from old scars. Jimin felt cherished and alive.

"Oh my Jesus, don't make out in front of the kids!" Jimin heard Yoongi grump and he giggled on Taehyung's lips. They both turned their heads to look at the boys standing at the cabin porch and spotted they were covering their faces with their hands, but the eyes were still peeking through their fingers.

"No need to be jealous, now it's your turn!" Taehyung joked and Yoongi glared dearly at his omega mate. Then a beaming smile was drawn on his lips as Jimin went towards his side. The alpha gently bowed his head, one hand on his back and the other reaching out.

"Your highness," Jimin lifted his eyes slightly to look at Yoongi, he noticed his mate's smile that couldn't be hidden and felt like there were thousands of butterflies flying in his stomach. Was it possible that you never stopped having a crush on your lover for the past ten years?

Yoongi tenderly touched Jimin's palm, which was calloused from farming, which used to be so soft and warm when they were hand in hand for the first time. Jimin placed a kiss on Yoongi's knuckles before slowly pulling him into his embrace and carefully carrying him as carrying his bride on the initial night of their marriage. Yoongi was protected by strong arms and wrapped in the seductive scent of white musky. He leaned against Jimin's firm chest, cheek next to the cheek, and surreptitiously kissed his alpha mate's temple.

They had a peaceful lunch in the cabin with toasts and fruits that Yoongi prepared. Jimin also baked some sweet potatoes and corn. After the meal, the boys helped them clean up while Taehyung set out the desserts. When it was all done, Jimin and Yoongi made some tea inside while Taehyung and the kids played outside on the porch.

"Your mother's remembrance day is coming," Yoongi said, not taking his eyes off his younger omega through the main door. He was smiling as the boys knitted for him a grass ring with a small, white tansy bud. He looked so beautiful and so pure that Yoongi felt his heart hurt a bit.

"Will you visit her? It has been almost three years since the last time you visited your hometown."

"I- I'm not sure," Jimin shook his head, not really wanting to think about it. He looked down at his mug and felt Yoongi's caresses on his back.

"That's just where I was born and spent my miserable childhood. For me, you are my hometown. All of you. I used to think I belonged to no one, to no place, not even my mother. Only since I met you and Namjoon, I began feeling home."

When Jimin finished his sentence, he realized he was scratching his own thumb out of habit, and Yoongi grabbed his hand to stop it.

"If you want to go back there, I'll go with you." Yoongi's voice was so soothing that it could put Jimin at ease. However, he sighed, his lips pursed and his eyes fixed on the omega.

"You know I won't let you go with me," Jimin glanced at Yoongi's curved belly and talked very firmly.

"It's not very far from here, I'll be fine," Yoongi was stubborn. He turned to Jimin, holding his hand to place on his abdomen.

"I don't want you to go alone, alpha. I'm not that weak, I'm just carrying your child."

Jimin didn't really like this idea. His protective instincts were on the rise. Just thinking about his pregnant omega stepping out of their safe zone, he started to feel anxious. They had a hard time to have this baby, the most precious and wonderful fairy thing he'd ever had in his entire life, and Yoongi was also one of those people he wanted to spend his existence protecting, Jimin didn't want anything bad to happen to them.

"I won't be alone. If I go, I will go with Tae." Jimin insisted but Yoongi immediately shook his head.

"No!"

Jimin was surprised at Yoongi's reaction. When the omega realized what he had just done, he quickly lowered his head, cheeks, and ears red. He began to smell distressed, his fingers twisting together.

"Hey baby, look at me," Jimin softened his voice, stroking Yoongi's cheek to reassure him.

"What's wrong? You can tell me."

"I'm sorry," Yoongi mumbled. Every time being with Jimin, he found nothing difficult to open up.

"I just want you to treat me like before, I don't want to be as useless as I am now. I can still cook, I can still work at the teahouse. I can still go with you to visit my mother's grave. You know, when our baby is born, my life won't be the same, maybe I can't do what I want to do, go where I want to go. I'm sorry for having such thoughts, I shouldn't have thought like that, because this baby is a blessing, something we've longed for for a very, very long time. But I'm afraid, I don't feel ready, I'm scared that things will change."

Yoongi spoke at once between sobs. Taehyung had rushed in from the porch and knelt down in front of him while Jimin was holding his shoulders. The boys standing outside looked at their master's mate nervously.

Hush, hush, baby don't cry, Jimin's voice was as soft as the lullaby. He kissed the temple, the ear, and the top of Yoongi's head to calm him down. And it did calm the omega down.

"In the past ten years, I have never seen you cry as much as the last four months." Hearing Jimin's joke, Yoongi couldn't help but laugh while the tears were still falling. He wiped his own tears. When his vision was less blurry, He found Taehyung looking at him intently and smiling.

"Don't embarrass me, you two," Yoongi pouted and turned to smack Taehyung's arm gently.

"Why do you laugh at me?"

"I don't laugh at you, I'm just glad and it's such an honor you tell us what you are feeling," Taehyung answered as he rubbed the older omega's knees.

"I only tell the truth and reveal that I'm a useless coward and bad parent."

"Don't be silly!" When Yoongi almost cried again, Taehyung quickly cupped his cheeks with warm hands and kissed him on the lips one kiss, two kisses, many, many kisses.

"You're not a coward or a bad parent. Never. You're not useless either, so never say such ridiculous things again, I warn you."

"Taehyung is right," Jimin lifted Yoongi's chin to make the omega look at him. Wet lashes, red nose tip, tear-stained cheekbones, and luscious lips made alpha's heart melt as always. His adoration for the beauty of Yoongi seemed to be growing with each passing second.

"I'm sorry if we made you feel that way. You need to know that you are such an amazing mate and parent. You are perfect and brave, you are nothing but the best. I'm sorry I can't recite poems about you or use flowery words like Tae. I just want you to know that you are not alone. Even when our baby is born, you have six pairs of hands ready to protect and care for you two. You can still do what you want to do, go where you want to go just like before. And yes, things will change but those are the good changes we should expect."

Jimin could claim his words did reach Yoongi, comforted him, and made him feel better. He and Taehyung also scented Yoongi to reassure their omega mate. Then they all looked at each other, smiled brightly, and Yoongi's cheeks flushed again from the romantic and poetic words Taehyung used to compliment him. The two also noticed the omega's scent was very, very pleasant, sweeter, and milkier.

"About my mother's remembrance day plan, we'll discuss it with everyone when we get home. Is it okay?"

"Okay."

"Okay."

Right, everything will be okay as long as the people he loved were still here with him, Jimin secretly thanking God for guiding them to come into his life and save his soul. He looked out on the porch, saw the boys playing with dragonflies that Taehyung had plaited with grass, and suddenly, in his heart, felt strangely peaceful.
