01 :: Haemophobia
It wasn't very often that we get to see butterflies, especially since we lived in the busy side of London. It's been almost two months since we moved here and I can say that it is definitely a big change of scenery for both Taehyung and I.
Taehyung and I have been best friends ever since we were in diapers. We were born in the same month and just two days apart. Of course, I was older, so I had to be the protective one out of us two. Whenever he got bullied, I was there to defend him. Whenever he got hurt, I would lend him a shoulder to cry on.
And that was how I got feelings my for him. We depended on each other more than we depended on others. We needed each other more than we needed others. But somehow, in the midst of all that, Taehyung was not one to fall for guys, and especially not for his best friend. He likes girls, I knew that. He wanted a girlfriend, I knew that. He found one, I knew that too.
It has only been two months since we've arrived and settled down in London, but Taehyung had found himself a girlfriend. And his first girlfriend at that. Sure, he's shared some kisses when he was drunk and we were playing Truth Or Dare with friends, but it could never compare to what he has now: a real girlfriend who would willingly kiss him. Of course, I would like to feel what his lips taste like too.
"Hoseok hyung, what do you think Ellie would like for her birthday?"
It was the weekends and Taehyung and I were at a shopping mall for groceries, necessities and of course, a present for Ellie. It was her birthday the next day and the both of us were invited. Ellie and I were never friends, more like acquaintances. We would have small chats here and there, but otherwise, we were awkward around one another.
"I don't know. Perhaps a bracelet or necklace? Maybe a giant stuffed teddy bear. Girls like that kind of stuff,"
I shrugged as I pushed the shopping cart while Taehyung grabbed the things we needed on our shopping list. We stopped to grab a tub of mint ice cream before moving on to get the next thing on our list. Our families were quite well off, so we didn't have to worry about money for food or rent.
"Thanks, Hoseok hyung. You're the best. At least now I've got an image of what I should get her,"
I nodded as he grabbed a few cans of ready-made mushroom soup and placed them in our shopping cart. I scanned the list on Taehyung's hand and saw we only needed to get one more thing: raw meat. Taehyung has haemophobia so he was always reluctant to buy raw meat if I was too busy to follow him along for shopping.
"Hey, Taehyung? The only thing left on the list is raw meat. Why don't you go ahead and get Ellie's present? I'll meet you at McDonald's when we're both done,"
It hurt me to say that but I knew Ellie was important was to Taehyung. Plus I didn't want him to break into panic mode when we reached the raw meat section. I took the list from Taehyung and ushered him to go ahead.
"You sure?
"Yeah. I'm sure. Now go before I change my mind and haul your ass to the raw meat section,"
Taehyung's eyes widened and I chuckled as he left, literally running away at the words 'raw meat'. I sighed as I watched his back leaving, going further and further until he was out of sight. Turning, I pushed the cart towards the raw meat section.
