-Part 5

Following the advice given by Minami, on the following day during lunch break, Ban headed over to the student council room, where he was welcomed to enter after knocking. Doujima and Keiki followed him, but stayed outside the room. On the inside, Ban stood across the desk where Aimi was sitting, with Chika and Yumi, given the task of temporary treasurer thanks to her mathematical skills, sitting on the couches, and Izuru leaning on the wall next to the doors with his arms crossed and eyes closed.

"Ban Katsuhito-san, from 2-B, right?" Aimi asked. "What brings you to the student council?"

"I've sent my application for the title of King of the Royalty to the headmaster a few weeks ago, but let's face it, its's obvious I won't make the cut, so uhm..." Ban rubbed the back of his head. "Look I know I have a bad history riding on my shoulders and that alot of people already don't like me, but I think I could represent the school well on the Vanguard side! That's why I'd like to have the council's support on me becoming King!"

"Oh, I see. Truth be told, this is a first for us. It's the first time someone came to us to help them enter the Royalty. The requirements to be part of the Royalty are simple. A good history as a Vanguard player and good grades. I'm sure you could become a better candidate in due time, but that'd be up to you. But if that were the case, you'd have our full support." Aimi explained.

"R-really?"

"Just forget about his request, Aimi." Izuru spoke up, finally opening his eyes. "It's clear this guy will never be accepted, so why bother listening to his request?"

"What's that suppost to mean?" Ban asked, looking back.

"It's means exactly what you think it means." Izuru said as he took a file out from inside his jacket. "I happened to hear about you yesterday, so I made some digging just in case you ever became a problem for Heiwa. Call it standard procedure for your type."

"My type?! Just who do you think I am, some delinquent like the rest?!"

"You're doing very poorly to show I'm wrong. Ban Katsuhito, kicked out of his old school for the use of violence against his homeroom teacher, rejected by other schools until the headmaster himself reached out to your parents to invite you to the school, kicked out of class by your homeroom teacher on the very first day, hanging out with one of the delinquents of the school, throwing empty threats left and right, yada yada yada."

"What the-?! That's bullshit, I didn't threat no one! And that asshole Eguchi kicked me out for being a bias ass piece of shit! And Keiki's no delinquent!"

"It's true that Eguchi-sensei's a piece of crap, but even he wouldn't do something as rash as kicking a student out of his classroom due to personal reasons." Izuru slammed the file he held against Ban's chest, looking him dead in the eye with a nonchalant stare. "Face it. You'll never be King here, so just drop it. The fact you think the council would support someone like you is laughable."

"Someone like me?!"

"You know what I mean. If only the president was here, you'd probably resort to violence to get her support. You're only not doing it since there are witnesses around. I'm sure of it."

"You little-!" Ban striked away the file and grabbed Izuru by his collar, raising him slightly off the ground with his strength. "Yout hink I'm just some delinquent who'll beat anyone left and right because he wants to?!"

"And am I wrong?"

Ban grit his teeth. "She got what she deserved, that bitch deserved to get beaten! And fuck, I'd do it again if I saw her on the streets! A lowlife like her got what she deserved, you're all ignorant pieces of shit for only looking at what's said, not what's facts!"

"The main fact still remains. You raised your hand against a teacher and paid the price. Acting like it was the wrong thing won't fix the problem. At your core, you're nothing more than an unrational and violent person."

"Get bent!"

Ban let go of Izuru and pushed him to side as he stormed out of the council room, slamming the door shut to startle Yumi.

"Izuru..." Aimi muttered. "Don't you think you were too aggressive?"

"I don't see any particular issue in what I did or said. It's best to deal with the problem before it spirals out of control." Izuru explained. "Maybe now he'll just go back to being a lowlife delinquent like the rest. If he acts up too much, then the headmaster can just kick him out. That's one way to deal with it."

"It wasn't up to you to decide that."

"If I let you handle the situation, you'd probably help him without thinking twice."

"Uhm.. I-i know, we worked alot during our lunch break so I'll go get us some drinks!" Yumi said in a poor attempt to lighten the mood between Izuru and Aimi.

"Great idea, Gushiken-san! I'll go with you!" Chika joined her, not to help on making things calmer but to escape the awkward air created by the president and secretary.

"Says who?"

"Me, who knowa you."

"I am still the president, first and foremost!"

"Because I helped you. If you had kept working alone, we wouldn't be having this talk."

"You-!"

"Me what? Am I wrong? You know I'm not. This fight won't get us anywhere so just drop it. I'm gonna go meet Tate, see you back in class." Izuru scoffed, stepping out of the room.
