"Welcome back!!"

I saw the big white banner, with red lettering hang in front of the school. The other students didn't pay much attention to it, and went on with the normal routine they had last year. I headed towards where my friends are. I saw people hugging and scream at the sight of seeing old friends. I turned the corner into the library and went straight to the back of it. I heard the laughter of people and even music, the closer I got the more I was able to identify voices.

"Natsu, don't do that!"

"I'm just playing around. Why are you getting so worked up."

Lucy crosses her arms over her chest and pouts, I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. "Mavis, you finally showed up. What took you so long?" Levy looked very confused on why I showed up so late. Normally I'm the first one here, they used to call me the welcome wagon of the group. "Oh, well I couldn't find something for one of my classes." She just nods her head and goes back to talking to Gajeel about something.

"So Mavis, what's your first period?"

"I think it's P.E. What about you Lucy?"

"I got Science, and what makes it worse is Natsu is in that class with me."

We both glance over to Natsu, who is clearly going at it with Gray saying he needs to see someone about his weird habit. "You'll make it, just don't let him play with fire again." The face I got from Lucy made me laugh so hard I almost fell out of my chair. She knows what happens when Natsu gets near fire, last year he almost burned down the school cause he thought putting skittles would be a nice idea.

The sound of the bell signaling that classes are about to start make all of us sad. We grab our bags, say our goodbye and head to our first periods. I walk into the gym and head down tot he locker room. Inside I see all the other girls changing into our uniforms, I go to my locker, change into my uniform then head to the gym.

The one thing I don't like is, I don't have any of my friends in this class, I'm completely alone in here. I wish Gray or Gajeel was in here, at least I'll have a partner all term and someone to talk to. The teacher comes in and tells us to line up against the wall so he can do role call. I go all the way to the end and wait for my name to be heard.

"Zeref Dragneel."

My ears perk up when I hear that name. Zeref?! Natsu's brother, he's in this class?! I look down the line to see if he's here, but I don't see him. "Zeref Dragneel going once...going twice..." Right before he wrote absent on his board, the gym doors open up and in steps the man of the hour. "Zeref Dragneel, you're late. Don't let this happen again."

I was shocked that he even showed up or knew his way around the school, Natsu must have shown him or something. "Sorry, I'll be right back." Before he went down to the locker room, he glance down the line and found my eyes. In that moment, his dark eyes felt even darker when he saw me, he looked away then left the gym. The teacher went on calling names after that, when he was finished Zeref came up in the uniform. I heard the girls next to me gasp when they saw him.

"Oh my gosh, look at him he's like some Greek God."

"I know, I can't wait till we start basket ball. Shirts and skins ladies."

The teacher blew his whistle and told us to do our warm ups, which meant laps around the gym. We start our jogs , people pair up in pairs of two's or three's while others who had no partners ran ahead of them. I was in the back cause I'm slow and was one of the stragglers, a few other kids were behind me so I know I wouldn't be that kid everyone had to wait on. I was glancing around to see what activity we'll be doing today. I didn't know my shoe was untied and I stepped on the lace, causing me to trip, I knew if I feel, I'd get a pretty good sized bruise on my knee and possibly my face.

I braced myself for the impact of the floor to meet my knee, but what I felt was something strong around my waist. "You need to pay attention more, kid." who's taking to me? I getting my footing back then turn to see who caught me. First I see a black shirt then some pale skin then the face of who saved me. "Sorry..Zeref." Kids ran around us, as we just stood there. I felt so tiny compared to him, not only was he physically stronger than I, he was also a lot taller. I snuck a glance to see his face better, but he caught me and I quickly looked down.

"I don't have time for this."

"What?"

He made a tsk noise before leaving me, I watched him run with the rest of the class. That was nice of him, but why did he do that. He could've let me fall and laugh like everyone else. Why save someone you kicked out of your house?

"Come one Vermillion, keep going."

"Sorry, sir."

I put that thought aside and focus on the task at hand, Zeref is already done and looking at me like he's annoyed that I'm holding the class up. When ever he looks at me, I get nervous. It's always like he's giving me a warning not to go near him, but part of me doesn't want to and I don't know why.

"Alright, let's start class."

Am I the only one that hated P.E. I hate the sports we did and the warm ups were the worse. So far...nothing exceeding has happened, but I assure you the drama filled stuff with start soon, so I hope you like how it's going so far. Also as a fun fact, I'm taking my own personal experiments from my high school year and putting it into the story. Cool right, lol no '^^
