With the end of sophomore year closing and junior year just about to begin, I sat on my bed wondering how this year will be. Last year, it was pretty normal, except for that incident.

I'm two days, I'll be able to see my friends again, see my writing club again. The thoughts of happy moments floods my head, making me smile to myself. I can't wait. I glance over the clock next my bed, seeing it's almost midnight I get under the covers and turn the light off.

"Did I set my alarm?" I check my phone to see if the little alarm clock is up in the corner. Satisfied seeing it there, I set it aside and close my eyes.

"Mavis, it's so good to see you."

"I know, I'm so happy to see you again Lucy"

Lucy has been gone all summer, she's been taking some classes at the college so she can can extra credits. " What did you do all summer?" I sit on her couch and shrug my shoulder, I didn't really do anything. "Uh, I just hung around, went walking a lot."

"Did you write at all?"

I shake my head no, I didn't even look her in the eye when I did it. "No, I didn't write." Saying that that left a weird taste in my mouth. Lucy got closer to me and brought me into a hug. "It's alright, you'll find your reason to write again." I hope so. A ding is heard, Lucy picked make up her phone to see who texted her, a big smile spreads across her face.

"Is that Natsu?"

"Yeah, he wants us to come over."

"Well, what are we waiting for."

I get to my feet and head for the door, Lucy follows right after me. I wait for her on the sidewalk, taking in the cool air around me and the warmth from the sun. I really love the warm weather, but sometimes it's good to have rain as well. With Lucy standing next to me, we begin to walk to Natsu's house.

"Did he tell you why he wanted us to come over?"

"He's probably bored, might want to go out and get some lunch maybe"

We continue to walk down the street, the whole time I'm thinking about throwing my shoes into the street and just going bare foot, but I don't want my feet to get burned so, I'll have wait to take them off. "I almost forgot how far his house was. Next time he's gonna pick us up." Lucy sounds out of breath, but I don't blame her. Natsu lives complete on the other side of town.

"Finally we're here. We are never doing that again in this heat."

"Agreed, that was terrible."

We knock on the door repeatedly till we hear the locks turing from the other side. We see Natsu, standing there drinking some water and wearing nothing but swimming trunks. "Hey guys." A big toothy grin is on his face, but quickly fades when Lucy yanks the drink out of his hand. She drinks till its completely dry. "There that's better. Sorry Mavis."  I just hum at her and move past Natsu, so I can get out this heat and get my own water.

"Thanks coming over guys, I was sooo bored."

"So you called us over here for..."

"It's two days before school starts. Why don't we go out and enjoy our last day of freedom."

Lucy and I share a glance, then laugh which leaves Natsu, completely confused. "Alright, let's go out." Natsu runs out of the kitchen, up the stairs, and into his room so he can get changed. As we were waiting, we both heard this thumping noise, almost like something got hit. It was right over my head so I heard it very clearly. What was that? That didn't come from Natsu's room.

"Alright, let's go."

"Natsu, what was that noise?"

Natsu, looks up to the ceiling like me, but shrugs it off. "It's just my brother."

"YOU HAVE A BROTHER!!!"

Lucy and I practically push him to the floor, when we gather around him. "Y-Yeah. He's older than us, he and I never went to the same school, but he's gonna be going to our school now."

"Out of all the years we've known you, you never once told us you had a brother."

"It slipped my mind."

How does something like that slip his mind. oh wait, this is Natsu we're talking about. "What's his name?" Natsu was about to answer, but the sound of a door opening catches our attention. When I look up, I see just an outline of a tall man, "Oh hey bro, come meet my friends. Guys, this is my brother Zeref."

"You guys are to loud, go be loud outside."

"Hey, that's not very nic-"

"Just get out Natsu!"

I jump from when I hear the anger in his voice, Natsu glares at him then pushes us towards the door. "Let's just go, sorry he's being rude guys." We get to the door, but before I step out I look back one more time up to the second floor, a window on the other side of the house was allowing some sun to come in, it hit his face and I was able to see his jet black hair and pale skin, but his eyes looked dark, black almost. "Mavis, let's go."

I was to caught up on his dark eyes, but I brought myself out of my trance and left the house. His eyes are so...deadly. if looks could kill, I'd be dead. "Let's enjoy our last two days."

"Yeah!"

Well there the first chapter, I'm sorry it felt kind of rushed towards the end but, so far I think this is a good set up.
