Do We Have A Deal?
Mabel and Dipper hugged each other for comfort and out of unmistakable fear.
As Bill came closer in front of them, he looked accusingly at Dipper. "Why'd you summon me, Pine Tree? You don't seem like the 'I-Plot-Revenge' type..."
The male twin broke into a nervous sweat as he stepped protectively in front of Mabel. "I...well, we..."
"Oh, I, uh, I mean, it's not...." Bill mimicked, laughing. "C'mon, kid. I know why you summoned me..." He came in front of Dipper, wiggling his eyebrow. "You just couldn't get enough of me, huh?"
Mabel scoffed, crossing her arms frustratedly. "You wish! There's no way Dipper would voluntarily want you to come back."
Bill shook a finger at her giddily. "No, I don't think so! I think 'ol Pine Tree here, loooooooooooooves me!"
Dipper squeaked in surprise and narrowed his eyes at the demon in front of him. "No, no, no way ever."
Bill backed up and floated higher in front of the siblings. "Fine, then. I'll have my OTPs and you can have yours." His gold cane appeared in his hand and he tap danced in the air. "Oh! Since I'm here, you wouldn't mind making a deal, would you?"
Mabel seethed with anger and took a step towards him, but Dipper pulled her back, his heart beating frantically.
"Uh, not today, actually," Dipper piped up, his voice cracking. "We should probably be going." He gave a fake smile and grabbed Mabel's hand, heading towards the trees.
The triangle cackled, zooming in front of their path to stop them. "I just checked your schedule; you're free for the day! And since you have so much time, isn't it the perfect day for a soul-shattering death wish?"
"No...?" Dipper started, quieting himself immediately as he earned a stern glare from Bill. "Uh, I mean, maybe?"
"Great answer!" The demon chirped. "Let's see... How about you offer me your body, letting me enter it and leave it whenever I want, wherever I please, in exchange for your sister!?"
"M-my sister...?" Dipper stammered. As he did, Bill had used his powers to raise Mabel high into the air, choking her. Mabel's eyes began to water, she kicked her legs uselessly, trying to get down as she gasped for breath.
"Mabel!" Dipper shrieked, watching her nervously. He turned to Bill. "LEAVE HER ALONE!!"
Bill looked completely calm and wasn't doing anything to interrogate Dipper any further at the moment. He squeezed his fist tighter, earning a coughing reaction from Mabel. "I only ask for a small favor."
Dipper turned pale, knowing that either choice he'd make, the outcome wouldn't be great. Beads of sweat appeared on his brow.
"Stop being so indecisive, kid," the yellow triangle snapped, clenching his fist even more.
"Mabel... I-I have to!" Dipper shouted to his sister.
Mabel looked at him through pleading eyes. "No! P-please, d-don't do it! I'm
n-not worth it!"
Her twin looked at her lovingly. "You are definitely worth it." He sighed, turning to Bill. "Fine, Bill. Deal."
Bill grabbed Dipper's hand and shook it, their hands turning bright blue from the small flame's light.
"I believe you've made the right decision, Pine Tree! I should probably be going. But don't worry, I'll be back. Until then, I'll be watching you." Bill vanished and the forest regained its color and the wildlife sprang back to life as Mabel thudded to the ground.
On her hands and knees, the female Pines twin inhaled quick breaths, her heart pumping. Panting, she looked up at her brother.
Dipper stood facing away from Mabel, his head hanging as small tears dripped from his eyes. He sniffled, wiping his face with the back of his deal-making hand.
"Dip..." Mabel began, staggered to her feet. "I-it's not your fault. Bill just..."
Dipper turned to look at her over his shoulder, his eyes red and puffy. "What have I done, Mabel?"
