He was too late.

Simple words, but it could break a person easily in just a snap.

Why does it have to be like this? Why didn't he accept when he had the chance? Why did she have to go away? Why couldn't she be his?

Life is just a pain, isn't it? Just when you figured out everything and you finally knew the answer after all those years, it was too late.

To be frank, he felt his heart getting ripped out just like when he saw his parents drop lifeless on the floor.

Well, what can he do? The love of his life just left with another man.

It's funny, because at first Sakura was the one who was chasing him-and look at now the tables have turned.

All this time she was looking at his back, but why does he feel that he was the one staring at her back all along?

Sasuke turned back in melancholy, going to his home.

He was on the brink of earning his lifetime happiness, like what his family would have wanted for him, but it just flew out of the window in a speck.

Kicking the rock on the side, he breathed in to prepare what was going to happen in the future.

He was going to marry a selfless woman, worse, a fangirl. He may have the looks and attention but he never actually got anything he wanted-because all that he loved already left him.

Baby!

Sighing once more, he reached his house and saw an unusual woman at his doorstep.

'Cause you should be my lady!

He prayed that it wouldn't be the Princess Bich or else he'd choose to drown than even see her.

Thankfully, it was not her as Sasuke got a closer look.

But it was the least of his expectations.

"Sakura?"

He saw her with dried tears as her make-up was all ruined. The shiny lip gloss was messed up which caused her magnificent look to look otherwise.

It seems that she just got hitched because the most shocking of all, she was still wearing her wedding dress.

"Sasuke-kun!" Her eyes swelled up with tears once again while she enveloped him in a strong embrace.

Sasuke did not ask yet, because he slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and savored the moment since he knew that she will never be his.

When they let go of each other's grip, Sasuke began. "Are you okay?"

Sakura gave a curt nod as Sasuke invited her to go indoors.

She washed her face in the bathroom before anything else then she walked back to Sasuke's location.

"What happened?" Sasuke had asked after they settled down at the living room, both seated at the couch.

Sakura sniffed before exhaling.

Hundreds of people were standing just as Sakura went inside and walked the aisle with Kakashi in a fearful or nervous manner.

The crowd's stares were stuck at the bride as if she was a prey while angelic voices sang.

Pressure built up Sakura's chest as she breathed in and out.

"Am I making the right choice?" Sakura thought in her mind once again then she peeked over the groom.

It was perfect. The choir, the guests, the venue-literally everything.

All except for the man that stood at the altar whom she was going to marry.

Baby!

Her hands were slightly trembling as the smile that was plastered on her face was fake like the toys made in China.

'Cause you should be my lady!

"Is this right?" She blurted in her mind as the priest began speaking.

The ceremony was fast and before Sakura knew it, she was stunned by the question.

"Do you, Haruno Sakura, take Shee Jin to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I can't." She repeated.

"I can't do this..."

"I just can't."

"I won't."

"I-I...I do..."

By this time, Naruto was clenching his fist. Hinata knew that he would do something anytime soon so she held his hand and squeezed it tightly, a signal for him to stop.

Rina frowned when she heard Sakura giving her consent, because she knew that right then and there, that Sakura truly loves Sasuke.

"Do you, Shee Jin, take Haruno Sakura to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

By hearing that, a pang of guilt had surged Sakura's heart.

She bowed her head down a little because she knew that her life would not be as jubilant as it was before.

She stared at the ground, not wanting to see the future ahead of her. Not wanting to see how it would end.

Because she realized everything just when it was too late.

"No."

One word, and it made a whole lot of difference. Every single jaw dropped as gasps of surprise erupted from the people in the place and shock was all written on their expressions, especially Sakura.

"What?"

Shee Jin winked at her, intellectually saying that he got it covered. "This arranged marriage shouldn't have started in the first place. Kumogakure and Konohagakure's bond doesn't need a married couple to prove it, the proof is by helping each other." He continued with a sigh, "Sakura's heart is taken and I can't marry her because I wasn't the one who stole it."

Sakura grinned brightly at Jin's adoring speech. He both saved their future.

"Hold it!" The Raikage stood up angrily. "I do not accept this-"

"I agree with the groom." The Godaime announced, rising up as well.

"I second the motion, dattebayo!" Naruto got up as well.

"Me too." Hinata spoke up, following Naruto's move to which he returned with a smile.

"Same." Rina followed and soon, Kiba did so too then Shiro and all the Konoha 9, including Team Lee. Later, everyone agreed that the marriage shouldn't have started in the first place. All, excluding the Raikage who was left in a fuming aura. His grudge towards the Uchiha will never fade as it may seem.

"Then it's official. I hereby announce, this marriage will no longer prevail!" The priest remarked as everyone-except for the Raikage-cheer in glee.

Sakura smiled widely as ever and she looked to his, not anymore, soon-to-be-husband. "Thank you so much." She gave him a firm hug-not affectionately, rather thankfully.

"It was my pleasure. Now, go get him."

"So, you weren't crying because..."

"Those were tears of joy, baka."

He smirked at her, although it was more of a smile than a smug look. "Remember the time you asked if I loved a girl before and you said at the letter that I should get her?"

Sakura nodded in response.

"That was you, I'm getting you."

Sakura's eyes widen in dibelief. She was about to reply, just when Sasuke smacked his lips towards hers.

And that was when Sakura's dream to kiss Sasuke had turned into a reality.
