Chapter Five
During that tour, she learns two things about Charlotte Katakuri. One was that he was meticulous with his environment, opting for a more minimalist look to keep everything tidy yet grand. Every corner was neat, with only minimal decoration and an overall beige-white design that resembled the mochi powers he wielded.
Two was that he was even more mysterious than she initially perceived him to be. Jam and Jelly, the two cackling twins, never shut up about his greatness, but never once had they mentioned anything of substance about him in their journey to her room.
Sure, she knew about his daily routine, favorite clothes shop, undisturbed win streak, and even his undisputed popularity with his siblings. But there was no mention of anything he liked. The list went on: hobbies, favorite food, favorite genre of music. Still, such information seemed unknown even to someone as close as his family. They are a pretty big family, but she is talking to those close to him, and they seem to have no idea.
And they most likely don't even know about his longing for that baker on the outskirts of town.Noelle was an earnest wolf, and Charlotte Katakuri was certainly too tender of a game to pass up on. Latching on and never letting go was her style, and much to the Mochi-mochi man's misfortune, her fangs had already carved their way into his flesh. She would never let go until she tore him apart and learned his secrets.
"And we've arrived at your room!" Jelly chirped. They had introduced themselves beforehand. Jam is the taller female twin, and Jelly is the shorter male twin. Both looked physically distinct except that they wore the same outfits, wearing cream button-ups and button-ups with frills on the collars and cuffs paired with shorts that hung mid-thigh, mid-thigh. They finish the ensemble with knee-high socks and brown leather boots that match their shorts.
Noelle gauged their ages to be below twenty but above 15 based on how they behaved, and her mind instantly thought of troublemaker Gloria, the youngest of her siblings. Without thinking, she reaches out a hand to pat Jelly.
Despite a lack of intent in her action, she found her hand whacked away before having a dagger thrust upon her throat, grazing her skin enough to bleed.
"Don't do anything funny now." Threatened Jelly as he peeked from under his glistening daggers, Jam, on the other hand, placed a hand on the gun that hung on her waist.Much to the duo's surprise, Noelle only laughs at them before placing a haki-coated finger on the blade's sharp side, pushing it away from her skin.
"If you could read me, you'd know I showed no intent to hurt you, but you can't, can you?" She says, rubbing the blood off her neck. "At your age, you should know the basics of reading opponents. Seems like your uncle is slacking."
"Uncle Katakuri is extremely busy; he trains us when he can." Jam replies as she signals Jelly to calm down with a hand on his shoulder. Jelly sheaths his daggers but glares at her, seemingly suspicious despite her disclaimer.
Noelle hums, leaning against the door to her room. "What does he do?"
"Paperwork, logistics, minister work," Jam shrugs.
"So he won't be around me that much then?" Noelle's mischievous smile.
"Ha!" Jelly laughs one of his shrill cackles before smirking maliciously at her. "You're crazy if you think you can escape with that collar on. One kilometer away from him and you go BOOM!" He dramatically acts like an explosion around his head as he says so.
"You'll have to be around him if you want to live," Jam added.
Noelle clicked her tongue, tugging at the collar. She didn't mind the situation as much as the collar disturbed her. It had been a while, but the sheer sight of it disgusted her. It reminded her of Mariejois and the Celestial dragons and everything horrible they did. Just one click, just one click, and the slaves would explode and die. One particular memory resurfaced, and she found herself almost gagging.
The twins noticed that she looked pale but regarded it as her finally feeling fear from the threats.
"Anyways, your room is just beside Uncle Katakuri, so he can keep an eye on you," Jam says. "We advise you to stay around him lest we get in trouble with grandmother. Go bathe and change your clothes. He's at his office at the end of the hallway; go to him after you're done."
"And my bag?"
"He'll give it to you after he's done inspecting it."
"Or not," Jelly adds with a smirk.
His sass unintentionally reminded her again of Gloria, but this time, she held her head back and smiled.
"Alright, Thanks you two." She says as she closes the door, but not before flashing the two a wink.
Jam and Jelly look at each other, completely bewildered by how she acted. She was a glorified prisoner in enemy territory but seemed utterly unfazed. Did she already have escape plans, or did she have an ace up her sleeve? Either way, the twins thought she was crazy.

Noelle collapses into the bed prepared for her. It was big enough for her, but then again, the family was composed of those of her size. It would be rude if the guest rooms would only fit some of them.
She caressed the soft sheets as her mind turmoiled over her circumstances. 'A prisoner in enemy territory and with a...' Her hand found the collar on her neck again, and a frown made its way into her usually joyful face. 'This shitty thing.' She let go and let her hand fall back on the bed, but before the negativity engulfed her, she decided to put her thinking cap on.
"What to do?" She pondered out loud, staring at her hand. There were things to a ton of things to consider. Would her actions compromise Sanji's status? She doubted it; he was precious political cargo for them, and there was no way they would do anything about him. Although her capture would give them more leverage against him.
The thought made her sigh. Sanji was one of the kindest she had met. A great cook and an even greater friend, she knew how he'd feel over the news of her capture, and she wished she wasn't such a failure. But then again, she was sure she'd taken measures to not get caught. As to how they found her out, she'll have to investigate to avoid repeating the same mistake.
Then, there was the thought of her crew. Knowing their captain, they would come after Sanji and her; they'd know about her state sooner or later. Another sigh exited her lips. Hopefully, it won't get them into any trouble, but this would be something she'd have to worry about in the future. There were more pressing things at the moment.
The collar, Her bag, and Charlotte Katakuri.
