Chapter 13: The Predictions

The day went by... Slowly. It was a nice day don't get me wrong, the sun was warm and inviting and the spring breeze was refreshing because the sun's rays were just a little too strong for your liking. Like a dog, you were following Sanji around without a thought as he strolled right on up from one produce stand to the other where his cerulean eyes would bug out of his head to what each stand would behold. It was like window shopping except with this it was all things food. You were trying to enjoy this time with Sanji, but your patience were being tried.

"Sanji," you whined with heavy lidded eyes. "How much longer until we're done shopping?"

"Oh," Sanji looked up from the table of deceased fish doused with ice, he thought long and hard before coming to a conclusion. "If you're getting bored, go ahead and do whatever. I can always catch up with you."

"Luffy said that I should stick with you," you wore a shy grin. "It's just that I'd like to see something besides dead fish and weirdly shaped fruits," you actually had to look away from the table of fish because their cold dead bug eyes were staring at you, it put you into a state of uneasiness.

"Oh I see," Sanji hummed realizing your discomfort. "Go ahead and look around the market on your own if that's the case. I'll be done shopping soon enough," Sanji offered another idea of a compromise and it sounded quite fine. You weren't going to stray far away from the Love Cook, and you had a bit of a choice on your end. You both were happy.

"Okay," you waved. "See ya when you're done," Sanji waved back as you went ahead within the outside market of tiny stores set up with particular themes like jewelry, pastries, even a stand of exotic animals that you knew better than to even glance at. You were already a handful for your own crew, imagine if you brought back an animal just as hectic. So you ventured forth, until a middle aged lady had poked your arm.

"Mind if I read your palms young miss?" the lady had spoken with what you had recognized to be an indian accent. This woman had long flowing raven hair resting upon her shoulders, a fuchsia bandana tied around her forehead and her hands were decked out in jewelry of the finest gold from where she sat within her shaded stand. A con artist you had thought within the second.

"Got no money on me... Leave me alone," you turned your attention back onto the path ahead.

"I don't need no money sweetheart," the psychic reassured. "But you're buzzing with an eccentric aura," you took that comment as an insult. "Do you mind?" She asked again with less interest than before.

"You're just a fraud," you insult. "Leave me alone."

"Then have a nice day," the Psychic gave in easier than you could've thought. Her words of disinterest had drawn you back in.

"Fine," you rested your hands face up upon lace covered table. "I'm just killing time anyways."

"Thank you," The Psychic grinned softly and proceed to cradle your hands within her own. Over a course of thirty seconds, she made a variety of faces ranging from pure enlightenment to pure terror. She settled down with a shy smile once those thirty seconds were accounted for. "I have very bad news, some good, but mostly bad," she had finally spoken up with an eerie uneasiness notable within her voice.

"Tell me the bad news I guess," you shrug.

"Your life span is... Small. Very small. You won't live very much longer."

"I've known that," you roll your eyes. "I'm a pirate, I run from the Government, and if you can't tell," you raised your left hand bandaged from your wrist to the tips of your fingers. "I tend to hurt myself."

"Oh... Poor thing," the Psychic sighed.

"Whatever, tell me more."

The Psychic looked alarmed by your eagerness to get everything done and over with, so of course she had continued. "Enemies from your past will soon be making a reappearance in the near future. I don't know who, but I got a few images," the Psychic proceed to pull out a piece of yellowed parchment and began drawing a series of pictures with the most black of ink that ran easily against the page. Once finished she flipped the paper to face you and so you examined each picture briefly.

"Trafalgar Law," you mumbled to the first picture of what you recognized as the heart tattoo that he had inked to his chest. You moved onto the second picture of what was only two cigars, your skin started to crawl. "Smoker," you finally remembered the name of the white hunter. For then you moved onto the last picture of a gecko. You looked up at the psychic very slowly. "You... Aren't a fraud... How else would you have thrown these names out?"

"Just saying what I know," the Psychic hummed please to have convinced you of her true potential. "Shall we continue? I still have yet to bring up the good news?"

"Yes please," you exclaim. "After this I'll be needing some good news."

"I saw a sprouting romance... Very very beautiful he is," The Psychic stopped suddenly and smiled ear to ear imagining your one and only for a second time. "You've known this man for a while from what I saw."

"Who? Or Describe him some more please," you were very intrigued. You never would have thought you'd have romance on your plate despite everything else going on like your endless goose chase between yourself and the Warlords that seemed to go on forever and ever.

"He's a man with many women in his life, a flirt so to speak. But he hasn't been a flirt recently until because he's had his eyes on you instead," you nod sharply, but nobody had came to mind. "I see gold, but I also see smoke and fire-"

"Sanji?" You ask suddenly as the description was one in a million. "Sanji is a man in my crew. He has blonde hair, and he smokes a lot as well. The fire though would be his attack style... He engulfs himself in flames-"

"Hello (Y/n), I see you found something worth while," you jumped in place holding onto your chest. Sanji leaned over hovering his head over your shoulder to catch a glimpse of your Psychic. "A fortune teller?" Sanji assumed.

The psychic mouthed 'him' and your heart ran wild. You fought to pull yourself together facing Sanji head on but unable to look at him directly in the eye. "Sure. Yeah a psychic... She's the real deal too!" You tried to hide your emotions that were surely to explode if you didn't leave to calm yourself down sometime soon.

"Oh cool," Sanji grinned. "What'd she say?"

"That Law and Smoker are going to kick my ass soon," you spoke on the whim.

"And you say that with a smile?" Sanji found your behavior off.

"I'm just amazed to find a real psychic!" You began to sweat.

"I thought you were buddies with Law (Y/n), should we gather up the crew?"

"No no..." you sighed. "I'm fine, just need a moment to calm down."

"Okay then," Sanji himself had calmed down. "How about you go take a walk? I'll get my future read while you're at it."

"Sounds good," you nod sharply and left with a sprint. Sanji turned to the Psychic and she was still smiling ear to ear.

"Hands," she pats the table and Sanji complied. She cradled his hands much like she did with yours. "The girl of your dreams is already head over heels for you. All you have to do is admit you love her."

"Good, cause I plan to," Sanji smiled softly.

"I see a wordless proposal," the Psychic grins.

"Really?" Sanji's eyes widened as he dug through one of the few grocery bags he once held and pulled out a yellow rose with tips of crimson. "I planned... To give her this rose and that's all."

"A wordless proposal."
