"Ow!" I reached back and punch Phoenix after he slapped my back. He was the worst and best doctor at the same time. "That's what you get for running off with out help you idiot." He said as he finished patching the hole in my back. I grumbled angrily while he worked, pulling a fresh shirt on when he was done. "Sorry about the shirt mom." I said as I threw away her ruined shirt. "The shirt is the least of my worries." she smiled sweetly. The door flew open and I was crushed in a tight hug.

"Sky-nii!!! I was so worried!" Kyleigh sobbed as she clung to me. She was a bit bruised but other than that she was fine. "She really will keel over if you keep squeezing her," Slate said as he came in behind her. She immediately let go and I gasped. "Sorry!" she cried. I grinned and ruffled her hair. "Don't worry K-chan. I'm just glad you are in one piece." I started for the door. "Where are you going dear?" mom asked. "I need to talk to Laxus. And I'm sure Phantom is still running loose so we better prepare for them too." I said as I left.

The infirmary was on the second floor and just down the hall was the Dons office. I knocked before entering. Laxus was sifting through paper work as I walked up to him. "What do you want brat?" he asked without looking up. I puffed out my cheeks but let it go. "I want to request a guard for Jays sister at the hospital." I said in a serious tone. He raised an eyebrow and looked up at me. "Why?" I frowned. "Phantom may go after his sister."

"So?" my blood boiled. "What do you mean so?!" He leaned back. "He isn't part of the family, why should I?" I slammed my hands on the desk. "Because a human beings life is in danger! An innocent person! They have done nothing but try to live their life to the fullest! And Phantom came and took that away! Now all he is trying to do is save his sister. I know exactly where he is coming from. I would go to dirtier tricks than just stealing diamonds and tracking in the shadows. He also saved my life, so we owe him that at least. Isn't that what grandpa taught you?!" I nearly yelled the last part. I had known the previous Don for a short time before he passed from age.

Laxus simply smiled. "Your right. The family has to look out for each other as well as the innocent. I will get a guard sent right away." I nodded. "Any word on Phantoms movements?" he shook his head. "Your dad and the guys are out searching now. As soon as we get word we will prepare to move out." Again I nodded and left. I saw Jay sitting down at the bar and decided to go down and sit with him. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Like iv been shot." I said sarcastically. He chuckled and I smiled. "I talked to the Don, he said he will get a guard for your sister. That's all I can do until Phantom is taken care of." I said. He nodded. "That's more than enough. Thanks." He pat my hand and I blushed slightly at the casual touch. I glanced over and saw Aunt Mira smirking. Dear god. I groaned a little and laid my head on the counter. Jay raised an eyebrow at me and I just shook my head.

I looked around at everyone in the manor. Bisca and Alzack were talking about guns. Mindy and Asuka were going through magazines. Sorren was leaning back in his chair and staring at the ceiling.My mom had come down with my siblings and they were sitting in the corner. I smiled as I saw her reading to them out of one of her millions of books. She started doing it when we were kids, reading aloud whatever was in her hands. We always got intrapped in the story.

The peace was then destroyed by the sound of gunfire. Everyone jumped to their feet, even Kyleigh and Jay. The doors flew open and the men from the scouting party backed in, firing rounds into the street. Where I was standing I could see it was members of Phantom. What had my blood running cold was my Uncle Natsu and Elfman. Between them they carried a bloody, large frame that I would know anywhere. I remember when I was little an it was still long he would let me braid it.

The first to react was my mother. She was out of her chair and to the doors in the blink of an eye. Slate and Phoenix were next and helped her get the doors shut to cut off the enemy gunfire. I took slow shaky steps forward before breaking into a run. "Daddy!"
