and with that, you drifted off to sleep, or rather, thats what you thought.

sleep didnt come easy to you that night, no matter how many times you turned and twisted in your bed, you stayed wide awake.

inhaling deeply, you looked over at paimon who had been sound asleep next to you for the past two hours, you wish you could sleep like her as well at this moment.

you propped yourself onto your elbows as you knew that your sleep wouldnt come to you any time soon. without disturbing paimons sleep, you managed to successfully sit up on your hotel bed.

slowly shifting to the edge of the bed, you swayed both legs over the edge and placed your feet on the ground. you continued to set all your weight onto your feet and eventually stood up without making a sound.

you thought about your options, you could go to wangshu inns balcony to admire the view and maybe have a cup of tea in order to make yourself more sleepy. or you could stay here and try to sleep.

of course you choose the first option, the view of the night would be gorgeous and you wouldnt want to miss that.

you stayed in your nightwear and got your shoes on, you debated if you should bring your coat from your travelers outfit with you or let it stay in the room.

eventually you choose to let it stay in your room, one reason being that paimon could wake up and assume you had left her, which you didnt want to happen as it would unnecessary bring more trouble.

besides, it wouldnt be that cold after your stay in dragonspine. and so you walked over to the door of your temporary hotel room.

you brought your hand up to the doorknob and grabbed it, before twisting it you looked behind you to check if paimon was still asleep, and she fortunately was.

after checking up on her you turned back and twisted the doorknob to open it. it made a loud cracking sound as you opened the door, much to your dismay.

once again turning your head behind to check on paimon, the little girl was still asleep. 'she is probably not a light sleeper.' you concluded to yourself as you let out a relieving breath.

you made your way into the corridor of the hotel rooms and almost immediately shut the door behind you. once when the door was closed again you looked both ways of the hallway to see that it was completely empty.

it would be awful if you were to run into diluc right now, which is why you were being careful. you straightened your posture and got walking to the stairs that would lead to the balcony.

after ascending both stairs you finally made your way to the highest balcony of washing inn, to say it was beautiful was an understatement, you decided you could get your tea or such later.

with one foot in front of the other you made your way to the railing, your hands instinctively reaching out for it to hold the dark wooden railing as you gazed over the faraway land in front of you.

the sound of the leaves above you rustling was calming to hear, you leaned your forearms on the railing and took in every inch of the view in front of you.

the entirety of the land was covered by a dark tint since it was night, you slightly tilted your head up and saw an infinite amount of stars that spread over the dark blue night sky.

a small smile made its way on your lips, you havent had a peaceful moment like this in a while and greatly cherished it. since you were so high up it was slightly windy, but not enough to make you shiver.

with the wind flowing through your hair, you inhaled deeply and started thinking. 'would my life be more like this if i was not a harbinger?' you questioned yourself in your mind.

your question was never answered by yourself, you wouldnt abandon the fatui like that, you shouldnt think about that since they saved you. but then again, that was one of the few reasons you were staying, since you had no where else to go and felt like you were in their debt.

sure, you were kind off close with your fellow harbinger tartaglia and somewhat close with scaramouche, but besides that you didnt have any other connections.

you remembered the cold words from signora when you asked her about that, "that is just how the fatui works." she had simply replied to you.

you longed for a normal life with peaceful moments like these, but would never openly admit that.

the previous smile on your lips had faded away, you took a deep breath once again to rid yourself of any more thoughts coming up.

"enjoying the view?" you heard an all too familiar voice say behind you, it slightly startled you as you didnt even hear their footsteps coming towards you, thats how much you had let your guard down.
