the two of you had a comfortable conversation after that, seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours, soon you two were conversing about family, mondstadt and more untill it was two in the morning.
both of you departed to your own respective rooms after deciding it was necessary to rest for the upcoming journey.
and with that, you went to sleep. but this time you could actually fall asleep.
you heard a soft, muffled voice around you and couldnt quite place where it came from as you were still deep asleep.
slowly coming to your senses, you furrowed your brows as your eyes remained closed. "...ake up-" you managed to understand.
the voice sounded familiar and after a few seconds you could make out that it was paimon. "come on, n/n!" you finally heard her say.
"you need to wake up!" she said as she dragged out the sentence. soon you felt two small hands on your shoulder, attempting to shake you around.
but with no avail, paimon barely had any strength and you only heard her grunting around, which was the main reason you woke up.
you lazily turned to your side as you opened your eyes, waking up slowly but surely. after waking up paimon explained that you all would get moving again.
it didnt take long to get ready, you put on your usual travelers outfit on with your matching gloves, your small vision was luckily still stored at the bottom of your bag along with the device from snezhnaya.
you brushed your teeth and combed your hair, you were sure you could eat something as you would get moving again.
as you opened the door, you already saw diluc and aether standing in front of their hotel room, they were talking among each other.
"were done!" paimon said as she barely even exited the door. you shut the door behind you as you both were in the corridor now and spoke up, "lets go."
you looked at aether and diluc, the latter clearly remembered what had happened the night before and looked at you with care in his eyes, he was almost smiling.
paimon grabbed both sleeves of you and aether and started dragging you two behind her as she floated to the small reception of wangshu inn.
you obeyed to paimon and walked behind her as she continued to clutch on your sleeve, you all soon made it to the receptionist and exchanged the keys to both rooms back with verr goldet.
before you knew it you were already on solid ground again, waking behind diluc and paimon while walking besides aether.
the grass around you had a orange and green-ish tint, completely different to mondstadt and dragonspine. it overall felt slightly warmer as well.
the sun was shining brightly in your direction, you saw a faint vertical flash of blue light in the far distance. you shielded your eyes with your hand horizontally right above your eyes and looked at the suspicious light.
aether noticed your stare and followed your gaze, his eyes landing on the same blue light you were staring at and he almost immediately spoke up, "thats the last statue of the seven." he said as he tilted his head to look at you.
passing through the guili plains, you were surprised you could see the statue from so far away already, "that means we will be in liyue city before nightfall, right?" you said as you did the maths in your head.
it would take around one hour to reach that statue, that last statue was in the middle of wangshu inn and liyue city, meaning it would take around two or maybe a maximum of three hours to reach your final destination.
aether complimented you on your observation skills and spoke up, "thats right." he said and gave you a small smile along with his answer.
the little floating girl in front of you had overheard the previous conversation and butted in once again like she always did, "does that mean our next dinner will be liyue styled??" she said as she turned around to face both you and aether.
you answered her while adjusting the straps of your backpack, "yea, any idea what you want?" you asked her in return as a small smile made its way onto your features.
paimon was too busy unleashing all her excitement for the fact that she would finally have her liyue desired food, completely forgetting about your question.
"dont think too much about it, we have alot to do before that." diluc said as he continued to look at the road ahead of him.
paimon didnt loose her excitement for food. instead, she started listing all the dishes she would like to try there.
diluc was reffering to confirming your identity, you grew slightly nervous as you had totally no idea what childe would do, he didnt even send a message back whatsoever. the entire situation was relying on trust now.
but you knew it would work out, childe would never let you down. because of his pride, tartaglia is exceptionally reliable at accomplishing the tasks given to him, no matter how difficult they may be or if they go against his values. and so you took a deep breath, trusting childe completely with it.
