it was silent now that everyone but diluc was gone. diluc didnt respond, instead, his eyes never left you. he looked at you with a mix of feelings, hatred, sadness, frustration, anger, fear and more.

it was just the two of you in the golden house, your throat was dry and you felt like crying, you werent prepared for situations like this.

just when you thought you would have a happy ending too.

but you would fix it, you had too. you cherished him too much to just let him go. but there he was, looking at you with disgust.

"i cant believe you." he muttered once more while he bended over to grab the handle of his claymore, his stare never leaving you.

you took a deep but shaky breath and spoke up, trying to be as calm and collected as possible, "please let me explain, diluc-"

"dont." he cut you off harshly, his grip on the handle of his claymore tightened as he held it upwards. "dont even try." he continued and slowly approached you.

in defense, you summoned your polearm as well. "listen, please!" you said as you raised your voice when you neared the end of your sentence.

"i didnt use you, i would never!" you yelled out while he came closer and closer. you got anxious and gripped your polearm more, holding it in front of you in a way of protection.

diluc was unfazed, he didnt say a word, instead, his claymore lit up. the black-red color became a burning orange. he infused his weapon with pyro.

"it all makes sense now." he whispered out loud, mainly to himself. before you knew it, his pace fastened as he made his way to you, his claymore steady next to his side as he ran to you.

he swayed the claymore high in the air as he neared you, now with one arm in the air he wasted no time to attack you with his pyro infused weapon.

you could feel the warmth of the pyro infused weapon from a distance away, it only became hotter as more time passed.

both weapons clashed as you held your polearm horizontally in front of you with two hands. the moment you two clashed was when you noticed that diluc seemed to lack strength.

rather, it seemed like he wasnt trying.

he used a little more force on his claymore, pushing your polearm slightly down as you managed to still evade his attack.

it got burning hot, it seemed the flames on his weapon only got bigger and bigger, and eventually those flames reached the sides of your hands while you were holding your polearm.

his face came closer to yours as he did, he looked straight into your eyes with furrowed brows and spoke up, "i always knew you were bad news." he said loudly, much to contradiction to his calm and collected nature.

the heat got too much for you, you could feel the burning sensation in both of your hands.

your polearm lit up, starting with a faint tint of dark purple, the color changed into a lighter purple and for a second it became a bright white, emitting purple light.

the elemental reaction took place, you overloaded dilucs attack. diluc saw the first sparks and retreated quickly, jumping back as his eyes grew wide. barely a second later, a huge explosion took place right between your faces.

luckily for both of you, you two had fast reflexes and jumped back right in time, to avoid the explosion.

all that was left from the elemental reaction was a thick dust which quickly dissolved. the first thing you saw was dilucs stare at you, his reaction being the same as when he found out you were from the fatui.

his eyes were wide, his eyebrows furrowed. but this time his jaw was clenched while he gripped his claymore tighter, you could see he was mad.

"so this too?!" he yelled out from a short distance, his words echoing through the empty golden house. "you hid this too for me?" he said as he straightened his stance, not believing he was fooled this easily.

"you planned this all from the start?" he spoke up, this time in a normal tone rather than his angered one. you couldnt take it anymore, he wouldnt listen to you and it stressed you out.

you took this chance to speak up, "can you fucking listen, please!" you yelled back at him while you held your bright purple polearm next to your side.

it seemed to do the trick, he became silent for a mere second, "its true im from the fatui, and that this was my mission." you started off bluntly.

"but i never used you. after we stayed at wangshu inn i realized th-" you started saying. but you never had the chance to finish it as you were interrupted by him.

he plunged his claymore into the ground and looked down, at the ground "shut up! i dont want to hear it!" he yelled out while he had his eyes tightly closed.

the sight of him broke your heart, 'can i even fix this, is it all over?' you thought to yourself, slowly losing hope in the entire situation.

"at the start of this mission i was just thinking about completing it, but now after this journey i changed my mind on the fatui." you said as you remembered everything what the fatui did for you.

you were too absorbed into the idea that the fatui was a family to you, but it was just a warped ideal. luckily you found this out, but it looked like it was too late.

diluc slowly tilted his head up, looking at you with his crimson pupils as he spoke up, "you cant fool me." he started off with, "i know how you lied and deceived everyone now." diluc continued and started approaching you once again.

this time, he ran towards you om full speed, his claymore besides him in the usual position. once he got close enough, he swayed the claymore from his side to the front.

you jumped back, but it was too late. the tip of the claymore grazed over your stomach, tearing your clothing slightly.

you didnt even have time to process that he was serious about fighting you, another attack already came your way.

diluc got his claymore into his other hand and made the same motion as the previous attack, but this time to the other side.

you knew what would come and jumped back in time now, avoiding his swing. it looked like you had no choice but to fight him.
