soonyoung gets up hastily as he hears his alarm go off for the nth time.

he remembers that he has to go somewhere with his jihoon today and soonyoung just happened to sleep through all of his alarms.

nevertheless, he turns off the ringtone of the alarm.

the ringtone from the song jihoon composed for him, and a song they both recorded. it was a very precious and memorable moment for them and that song was the perfect connection to bring them together.

flashback

soonyoung packed his things up quickly once their intense dance session ended. he gulped down his water bottle and dashed to meet with jihoon who already was in his studio room.

jihoon mentioned that he had 'something' for soonyoung; and soonyoung was more than ecstatic to know what it was.

soonyoung rushes to get to the university studio, and not long after he was then faced by a door with sounds being resonated from inside the room.

he twiddles his fingers and adjust the bag strap on his shoulder in order to catch his breath. soonyoung takes a deep breath before slowly raising his hand to knock on the door.

"why am i so nervous?" soonyoung thought to himself, it's not like this is his first time hanging out with jihoon, regardless of the fact that jihoon might actually be his favorite person ever.

he hears the music from the inside abruptly stop and the sound of rustled paperworks before slowly hearing footsteps near the door.

soonyoung is then welcomed by the adorable sight of jihoon looking cautiously to whoever was at the door before heaving a breath of relief.

"hey" jihoon greets him softly, before moving away from the doorway to let him in.

"hey jihoonie, i came here right after our dance session." soonyoung says while downing his belongings to a vacant sofa, before resting on it himself, apparent that he was exhausted, nevertheless slowly getting energized just from the sight of jihoon; but don't tell him that just yet.

the smaller smiles lightly, feeling a little guilty for making the dancer rush to the studio. he sits down on his swivel chair. "sorry, you can rest for a bit there." jihoon reassured the other.

"no i was just kidding, no worries at all hun." soonyoung says before indulging himself onto the lumpy couch.

jihoon tries to resist the red rush climbing up his cheeks as he watched the older rest comfortable in front of him.

"anyways you mentioned you have something for me and what sort" soonyoung opens one of his eye, reminding jihoon from his previous text.

"o-oh yeah. that's the reason i made you come up here." jihoon turns his chair to face the computer before clicking a few files and then momentarily stopping on one. jihoon also gets a few tousled papers from the desk and fixes it in order.

jihoon turns once more in order to face soonyoung who was looking at him cluelessly.

"cute" jihoon thought to himself, before snapping back to reality, composing himself.

"well the thing is, uhm, i  actually wrote a song for you..." jihoon softly explains and hands the pieces of paper to soonyoung.

soonyoung, who was utterless and undoubtedly surprised of what jihoon just said. he accepts the papers gratefully, still unsure of what to do next.

"and i would appreciate it if you would skim through it and record with me later after i let you listen to the demo i also made." jihoon thoroughly explains.

soonyoung nods slowly in understanding, he still couldn't believe that jihoon just gave him a song. how could someone do that so casually?

"o-of course! i'll do my best! thank you soo much jihoonie! ahh i'm really grateful for this opportunity." soonyoung exclaims and fake cries at the end of his statement, wiping the non-visible tears on his cheeks.

jihoon chuckles softly at the other's antics. "no worries at all soonyoungie, although i do apologize for adding another problem to your schedule."

soonyoung quickly dismisses that thought. "what are you even talking about! i was just joking hun, doing this song with you would be another meaningful moment with you i'm sure!" soonyoung determinedly and whole-heartedly reassured the younger.

to which jihoon retorted with a relieve expression on his face. "well then, i'm glad. shall we learn the song then?"

soonyoung looks at the other with an aura full of tenacity and his oh-so ever unfaltering bright and adorable grin.

they spend the next few hours practicing the the song.

the lyrics, oh the lyrics that obviously had a hidden message, and seemed like a missing link for the two; but neither of the two decided to acknowledge and speak about it.

soonyoung steps up inside the recording booth and was careful on his placing, he didn't want any unwelcome casualty to happen inside.

he then carefully got the headphones by the microphone stand, wearing one of the lobes and deciding not to wear the other one so he can also hear himself.

"can you hear me?" jihoon interrupts soonyoung's train of thoughts as the latter composes himself, quickly nodding his head yes.

"okay let's take it from the pre-chorus then?" jihoon asks in confirmation.

"okay, let's do this!" soonyoung says suddenly pumped up. briskly remembering the points they talked about awhile ago.

jihoon mentioned awhile ago that he can cover the verses of the song, while soonyoung can cover the choruses and the bridge of the song. they both knew a masterpiece can result from their perseverance.

they both went over the melody, tone and pitch for the whole song within those hours. talk about power-couple huh? well, at least not yet.

"okay, recording in 3, 2, 1, go!" jihoon says before pressing a button that plays the starting note of the pre-chorus and he can hear jihoon's voice from the pre-chorus.

"Oh My! What do I do with you? As I look at you, I think of you even more.

jihoon is looking at soonyoung, hoping for himself that his message can get through the other.

"Oh My! You're my only one. What do I do? What do I do?"

soonyoung takes a deep breath, trying not to falter from the lyrics and recalling the things jihoon just taught him about the song, and finally sings the first line of the chorus.

"Oh My! What should I do about you?"

soonyoung sings with full earnesty, looking at jihoon sincerely.

"Oh My! What should I do now because of you?"

soonyoung continues with his zealous expression, jihoon looking at him with the same smittened expression.

"Being closer together every day, every day, every day.."

this moment was very fragile and sensitive for the two, way too precious.

"Oh My! I like you so much, what should I do?"

they seemed to fall for each other even more as the song continued on.

"How about you? Is it difficult to sleep because of me too?"

soonyoung continued to sing with his whole being, his energy never faltering even once. dedicating this moment to give back to jihoon's hard work in doing the song.

"If you keep making my heart flutter without rest."

soonyoung never left his eyes off of jihoon as he continued to record.

"What should I do? What should I do?"

soonyoung stops to sing as he heard jihoon's demo voice take over the next verse. still looking at jihoon sincerely and with a soft expression on his face to which the smaller responded by stopping the recording.

"well producer-nim, how did i do?" soonyoung grins and jokingly says at jihoon.

jihoon clears his throat, "better than i expected mr. kwon, very good job." jihoon says as he played along with the other.

soonyoung grins at their little foreplay, before taking off the headphones and putting it on the microphone stand once more.

"thank you very much producer lee, but before we continue the recording may i step outside for a moment and talk to you?" soonyoung asks through the microphone in front of him.

"well mr. kwon are you not talking to me right now? why delay the recording of the song?" jihoon jokes around.

"producer lee, who would've thought you'd show me your comedic side! whatta blessing it is." soonyoung continues to play along.

jihoon darts his tongue at him, feigning an angry expression by crossing his arms. "well then mr. kwon you could just stay cooped up in there forever, i'm not letting you out."

soonyoung is the first to break character. "a-aye jihoonie! i was just joking~ i don't want another stuck in an elevator part two to happen." soonyoung says.

"...especially as i'm not together with you." soonyoung quietly says to himself, unaware that jihoon was very much able to clearly hear him.

"hmm what was that?" jihoon questions.

"n-no it was nothing! anyways can i exit the booth first?" soonyoung questions honestly now.

"yeah, i was kidding. sure, take a breather first if you want." jihoon says, permitting the other to step outside of the booth for the meantime.

once soonyoung situated himself onto the couch once more,  facing jihoon's back as the younger was currently fixing up the voicing and lining it up in accordance.

"so what did you want to talk about?" jihoon says, still focused on polishing up the chorus part.

"i like you."

soonyoung said it so abruptly it made jihoon stop working on his tracks. the smaller then slowly rotated his chair to face soonyoung properly.

"...why so suddenly?" jihoon trudges in asking this question.

"i know that you very much already know my feelings, and i may already be certain of yours too." soonyoung stands up and walks closer toward jihoon before kneeling down on both legs in front of him, encompassing the  two hands of jihoon in his.

"but in every little thing i would like to get your consent." soonyoung then cups one of jihoon's cheek in his palm.

"hmm consent for what?" jihoon says leaning onto the touch.

"consent to you know, putting a label for our relationship and like that?" soonyoung says.

jihoon looks at him with a soft expression. "are you really asking me out now kwon soonyoung-ah?"

"we've hung out several times now, even after the elevator mishap, and every moment feels so exciting and new with you."

soonyoung confirms earnestly. "this is really legitimate jihoon-ah. i like you and i would like to go out with you if you give me a chance. i'll do my best to support and take care of you as long as you want me to." soonyoung continues to stroke jihoon's cheek slowly.

"well then.. i would like that." jihoon affirms, holding onto the wrist of soonyoung.

it takes another while for soonyoung to comprehend what the smaller just said.

soonyoung slowly backed away, feeling surprised once more, did jihoon just really answered him?

"are you saying we're boyfriends now?" soonyoung says, asking for confirmation.

jihoon nods his head. "yes, yes we are soonyoung-ah." jihoon says in reassurance.

soonyoung didn't know what came over him but he couldn't help but slowly pull up the younger from his chair and hug him warmly and sincerely.

"thank you jihoon-ah. really, thank you." soonyoung says in the hug, his voice muffled due to his face being burrowed in jihoon's shoulder.

jihoon hugs back, rubbing his back in circles. "what for? i merely did anything."

"you came into my life, that's what you did. you gave me so much precious memories, got me feeling things i haven't felt before, and for making me the luckiest person in this whole damned world. so really, thank you." soonyoung concludes his explanation.

"i really like you jihoonie."

"i really like you too soonyoung-ah. thank you also, for you know, bringing so much fun and laughter in my life. i appreciate every moment i spend with you and i can't wait to do so as your boyfriend."

"ahh oh my god i just got jitters from hearing you say that. im really the luckiest!" soonyoung says, hugging jihoon tighter and lowly swaying him side-to-side, jihoon just laughed lightly from this action.

once they both calmed down from their peak of happiness, jihoon heaves another breath to completely calm himself down and steps back to look at soonyoung properly.

"actually soonyoung-ah, the song i gave to you was i guess one manifestation of telling you my feelings. but i guess you caught onto that awhile ago huh." jihoon says.

"i certainly did hun. that really pushed me to confess to you now." soonyoung explained.

"oh? was it really that moving?" jihoon questions cutely.

"of course! first time i read the lyrics, i was already so smittened, it was just so pure and perfect! my baby is such a genius ah i'm really lucky to have the honor in dating him." soonyoung says giddily.

"aye, talk about yourself! you're one of the university's prodigy dancer. ah how can someone a guy like him possible be attracted to someone like me." jihoon jokingly questions.

"how could someone not be attracted to you jihoon-ah? you're the bestest! you're so brilliant, cute, handsome, talented, dashing, ravishing, honest, persevering,—"

"okay enough enough, i get it you don't have to continue." jihoon laughs breathlessly.

soonyoung brightens up even more as he saw the other laugh his heart out and slowly calm himself down.

soonyoung couldn't help himself anymore so he steps closer once more towards jihoon and rest his arms on jihoon's waist.

"is this okay?" soonyoung asks.

"yes, don't worry." jihoon reassured as he himself raised his arms to rest on soonyoung's nape.

soonyoung nods his head in understanding. "okay."

soonyoung slowly raises one of his hand to rest on jihoon's cheek before letting his thumb wander and run across jihoon's bottom lip.

he missed the feeling of jihoon's lips on his cheek, reminiscing that memory just before they parted ways, the smaller reached to peck soonyoung on his cheek.

"is this okay?" soonyoung asks once more, his thumb resting just on the side of jihoon's mouth.

jihoon nods once more, looking at each other with nothing but fondness in their eyes.

soonyoung slowly leans his face towards jihoon's. "may i?"

jihoon need not to answer the other as he himself closed the gap between their lips. feeling soonyoung's surprisingly soft and plump lips.

both exchanged a tiny breath of relief in the kiss, as soonyoung tilted his head to have a better angle on the kiss.

they were more than content; it was perfect. just the two of them, just soonyoung and jihoon. both basking in the warmth and sweetness of each other.

but before things could escalate, jihoon pulled away from the kiss.

soonyoung slightly panicked at this. "s-sorry did i rush things too quickly? i knew it i-"

jihoon shuts him up with another kiss, which soonyoung quickly melted into.

the smaller pulls aways much more slowly. "no don't worry, everything was perfect. but we have to go back to recording soonyoung-ah." jihoon reminds.

"o-oh of course hun! let's finish up then rest afterwards okay?"

jihoon couldn't agree more with that. "i would like that."

and this is how that unforgettable night folds.

confessing to each other at wee hours of the night, sharing soft kisses while finishing up the song to which soonyoung requests a copy so he can make it his alarm and ringtone, it trudges on with soonyoung walking jihoon back to his apartment, jihoon cutely asking if soonyoung wants to spend the night in his room to rest up and sleep, to which soonyoung gladly takes up the offer. they end the night with both of them sleeping comfortably entangled in each other's arms with forehead kisses in between, both cuddled and bundled up in soft pillows and blankets.

end of flashback

soonyoung quickly finishes his morning tirade, quickly checking in the mirror if his outfit was alright, deeming it was decent he locked up his apartment, and walked towards the staircase.

ever since the certain elevator situation, both wanted to lay off riding any elevator in particular, maybe for life, who knows.

soonyoung quickly goes down the apartment's staircase and running to go to a coffee place down the street.

he's breathless as he is faced by the entrance of the coffee place, but it didn't matter. anything for his precious boyfriend.

soonyoung catches his breath and recovers soon enough, he fixes some of the plastered hair on his forehead before pushing open the door of the cafe.

he scans the place before seeing the very familiar figure, back facing soonyoung, sitting by the corner of the store, drinking his coffee while looking at the outside bustling streets.

soonyoung trudges his way toward to where his little fairy was sitting. still unfazed on soonyoung's presence.

soonyoung quietly creeps up on jihoon before grabbing one of his shoulder, to which startles the smaller a bit.

"soonyoung for gods sake, you startled me." jihoon heaves a sigh of relief.

"sorry baby, i thought a nice small scare would completely wake you up." soonyoung sheepishly apologizes before pecking jihoon's lips, getting a taste of the bittersweet coffee the smaller was drinking.

soonyoung sits down on the opposite chair of jihoon, "how was your class hun?"

jihoon just groans in response. "i just really want to say that whoever invented 7 am classes is the worst person to ever exist."

soonyoung can't help but agree greatly with what jihoon just said. "i know, what a mood babe."

"come on, let's cheer you up. let's get some brunch okay? it's all on me!" soonyoung says as he finishes jihoon's cup of coffee before standing up and extending a hand in front of jihoon.

the younger just grins at this. "wah really! thank you youngie!" jihoon gushes as he pecked soonyoung's lips and accepted the outstretched hand in front of him.

"now let's go boyfie, class really drained me out today." jihoon complained as he dragged soonyoung to one of his favorite restaurant.

soonyoung gulped nervously, he felt his wallet slowly withering. he could only chuckle to himself, fully accepting his fate.

"ah i l like you way too much." soonyoung says to himself as he listened intently to every rant jihoon made.

soonyoung was unassertive of many things but he knows that as long as jihoon is with him, he'll be alright.

they'll be alright.
