Elysium: Delving Into Danger
In the Unknown World,
Fu Hua was examining her surroundings whilst making sure that Juviel was at arm's distance so that she could save him at any moment.
She took a look around the area, and she soon had a rough understanding just what kind of place they were at. The surroundings looked very reminiscent of a grave, and she was starting to think that the little hill before her wasn’t actually a hill but a massive mound.
She recalled that during the Qin and Han Dynasties, they used to bury members of the royal family in mounds. It was only in the Tang Dynasty that they began building mausoleums. As for the other dynasties, due to their lacking wealth, their graves weren’t as impressive.
She examined the area carefully, and with her vivid knowledge of the Chinese Dynasties, she managed to push open the doors. The pitch-black cavern that lay before them screamed of untold dangers. Fu Hua clenched her fists tightly before heading into the darkness with Juviel in tow.
…
When Fu Hua walked through the stone doors with Juviel, she was surprised to see that the interior of the cavern wasn’t as dark as she expected.
There was faint grayish light providing some illumination behind the stone doors, making the surroundings look slightly ashen. It looked a little like the smoke drifting from small villages, just that this smoke depicted not of life but death.
An eerie wind blew over, causing both of their goosebumps to rise up. The surroundings had an inexplicable atmosphere that made her feel incredibly uncomfortable. At the same moment, Juviel was starting to feel a little weak from having lost too much stamina.
All of these observations made her realize that the environment in this cavern wasn’t friendly to living beings. In the context of a game, it would be something like a death aura that constantly gnawed away at one’s health points. While the effects weren’t too pronounced on beings like Fu Hua, this could be fatal for Juviel, who was already in a weakened state.
Fortunately, he had a solution.
“System, protect me from this weird life sucking aura.”
The System had stopped deducting Salvation Points after he had entered this world, that meant that those Salvation Points could be used for something else now.
[Very well. 3 Salvation Points will be deducted per day that you spend in this dungeon. Furthermore..

His eyes nearly popped out of his eye sockets when he saw this screen. Bro.. I only asked for some protection from this sick sht, why did you put the responsibility of saving a freaking planet on my head!!!?
Even though the rewards are lucrative and very enticing, how the f*ck am J supposed to deal with some sort of sht that is just beneath the Honkai!? Deal with it.. Damn it.. For the sake of little Juviel I will do it.
Meanwhile, Fu Hua was simply looking at his face that had been fluctuating drastically for the past few seconds, with amusement. But she was surprised, he didn't seem to be affected by the lethal aura of this place, atleast, lethal to mortals.
From their connection, she could feel that he was just fine. Otherwise with how much his expressions had changed over the span of a few seconds, she would have thought he had been possessed.
While Juviel was bracing himself for the immense responsibility that came with the Mythic Quest, she was scanning the area carefully while proceeding forward. Due to the gray fog lingering in the surroundings, Juviel's vision was limited. Nevertheless, Fu Hua's vision wasn't hindered too much, she could still tell that they were currently walking through an extremely long passageway.
This passageway was inclined downward, which meant that they were heading underground. Perhaps they were heading to the depths of hell itself.
The walls along the passageway were dry and smooth on touch. There were all sorts of marks on them, which on careful examination, appeared to be murals. It depicted the scene of a gruesome battlefield.
Fu Hua was just about to say something when she suddenly caught sight of something. “Juviel, don't make a sound..”
Juviel also raised his head to take a look, only to realize that the passageway was far taller than he had expected. The ceiling was thirty meters high, and there were countless rubies embedded in it, emanating a faint red glow.
“T-this…”
Juviel was unable to see it clearly due to the concealment of the fog. However, a sudden slight breeze dispersed the fog slightly, granting him a much clearer view of the things that were on the ceiling. They weren’t rubies at all but the eyes of countless bats!
These bats were larger than any other Juviel had ever seen before, each spanning the size of a bathtub. Their sinister appearances and sharp fangs were more than indicative of their vile nature.
Making a quick estimation based on the number of red eyes on the ceiling, there had to be at least a thousand of these vampiric looking bats above them. Juviel gulped. If all of them were to swipe down on them at once, the two of them may very well be doomed, afterall Fu Hua's special attacks required a charging time..
Isn’t this place the base of the zombie army? Why would there be vampiric bats here too?
All of a sudden, the hibernating bats began to move. They seemed to have caught a whiff of blood in the air. As more and more of them woke up, Juviel realized that things were going to get troublesome.
One must know that both he and Fu Hua were coated in the smell of fresh blood at the moment. They must have smelled truly delectable in the perspective of those vampiric bats at this very moment.
But all of a sudden, the bats had frozen in place. He heard a groan from Fu Hua and saw her clutching her head with one hand. Feeling concerned, but clear headed, he grabbed her hand and decided to try out something.
“System, use as many Salvation Points as necessary and heal Fu Hua back to her peak.”
He told this because he recalled how the Salvation Points had kept his condition from deteriorating, and it is called ‘Salvation Points’, it should be possible to do something like this, right?
[The first situation is unique, in other scenarios, Salvation Points cannot be used for the User's own benefit.]
"The heck? What about the Salvation Techniques?"
[That is for the benefit of others.]
"... Whatever, just patch up Fu Hua."
[Very well. 1500 Salvation Points has been deducted.]
A warm feeling went across his palm and went to Fu Hua's hand. Despite the pain she was in due to overusing Fenghuan Down, she was still curious as to what Juviel was currently doing. What is this energy that's entering me?
Normally she would be extremely alarmed, but this energy was extremely comfortable, she felt as if she had entered a hot spring in the cold winters. Her head also eased up until it simply vanished, she was shocked, there wasn't any mental fatigue remaining whatsoever!
But she decided to question what he did later, for now, it was time to deal with the Vampiric Boar Bats, Fu Hua's eyes glowed as she used Spirit Of Cinder once again. This time she was extra careful though, otherwise if the cavern collapsed due to her attack, it would be difficult for Juviel.
Following the cry of a phoenix, the fiery bird elegantly flew across the stunned bats and incinerated all of them. They couldn't flee nor resist as their minds had been destroyed by Fu Hua.
Whilst dodging the ashes that fell, they quickly slipped deeper into the passageway.
“I wonder if those bats carry viruses on them,” murmured Juviel worriedly.
There were many bats flying around earlier, and the air was suffused with their ashes. One must know that bats were known as a vat of germs and viruses in his previous world; many diseases that plagued humans had originated from them. Even the great Bear Grylls, a man who stood at the top of the food chain, had to cook them for several hours before daring to eat them.
However, such thoughts were swiftly dispelled from Juviel's mind. We’re already on the verge of getting killed! Who cares about viruses or germs?
After running for some time, Fu Hua noticed that they were finally approaching the end of the passageway and heaved a sigh of relief.
While the passageway was still fairly safe, there was only one road to pass, and since they have gone so far along with Juviel's mysterious recovery methods, Fu Hua gritted her teeth and ventured into the cavern, hand in hand with Juviel.
