it is indeed very convenient to sit with someone you know on the plane, because you can lie, sit, sleep on them however you like. after 4 hours of disturbed sleep, the trio landed in Incheon International Airport. it was such a pretty morning, with golden sunlight and blue sky. and there it was, the signature Republic of Korea flag waving like welcoming passengers. then it really hit enni that she arrived, she is here, she is in Korea now. a flow of excitement rushed through her and she couldn't wait to explore the place.
after getting off the plane, they went to baggage claim to get the luggages then inserted sim cards that they bought from Vietnam.
"look, it's -1 now. you better take out that winter coat i got cha"- enni's aunt said, still busying with all those tiny words on the sim card cover.
"nah, we'll be inside all day, i don't think i need to!" enni replied. that's a sub-reason why she didn't want to take the coat out. the main reason is the coat was so thick and big enough for a tall 2 metres guy to fit in and it was supposed to be for snowy weather. however, by the time they got to Korea, there wasn't any snow left.
they were planning to take the subway straight from the airport to the hotel. and then they did make it to the hotel after 2 to 3 hours getting lost in stations. it was a nightmare for enni because she barely had any sleep during the flight, and the only thing that she remembered about the subway ride was dozing off while hugging 2 big ass luggages. what would actually happen if she travels alone?! at 3pm, after having tried so hard to move her sore body to the surface from the subway station, her head popped out from the ascending stairs and she was struck by a scene that left her in awe. it was probably -1, but quite sunny. the cool, fresh air was not like anything that she has seen in Vietnam for her entire life. modern buildings and skyscrapers lining up next to a huge busy road of cars yet very disciplinary when they were stopping for red light at least 50 metres away from each other. her face lit up with enthusiasm as she couldn't wait to explore this place.

they decided to spend their first night in Korea in Myeongdong- which was a famous tourist area with lots of clothing brands and shopping streets. enni and her mom and aunt were amazed by everything-from a jewelry store with hundreds of thousands of trending pieces that K-pop celebrities wear, to Olive Young (a chain cosmestic retail brand that enni did not know that she would spend hundred thousands of won for it later), then Daiso, a whole paradise for mom and aunt as this Japanese brand sells everything in the world with a very affordable price ($1-$5!) after going shopping for a bit, they bought some strawberries at a fruit place near there (enni figured out that they didn't have to put strawberries in the fridge because the temperature outside was even colder than that of a fridge!) enni remembered hearing trophies of mom and aunt for what they bought, put on her favorite fluffy mint pijama and fell asleep in 2 seconds.
