Ending Note

Living in two countries, Canada and Vietnam, for a large chunk of time, I had an opportunity to talk with many people (not just in the Vietnamese community), and a common theme we all share is that we're hypocritical liars. We hate lying yet we lie and being lie so much during our lifetime.

The Liars series (or poems, should I call it), are written as a channel for me to express my observation on our day-to-day lying, under-the-table lies, as well as the lies you're exposed to but have no idea.

I've never read any political poem before. I saw feminist, racial, depression and various topics expressing via poetry, but never politics. When I throw this idea on the table, my mom had shake her head and said it won't be successful. Of course, she was absolutely right. Not many are into poetry, and not many are into politic, either. It's a doom-to-die.

But, despite all that, writing Faces of Liars is perhaps the best writing journey I had taken so far. New ideas pop up everyday, and the tinkering process continues long after I posted it here.

I sincerely hope you've somewhat enjoy reading this collection. And I hope, at some point, I've been able to make you change your perspective and question the world.

You're living in a lie. Do you think there is any truth at all, or everything is carefully constructed to cover up one's self?
