Erza P.O.V

Day four, and we were all extremely tired. We lucked out that Juvia, Natsu and Grey all lived in the same apartment building, but it was so crowded we couldn't stay. The boys parents had left notes saying they had left and praying they were safe, and something about watching the east horizon. We stayed at Grendineys house that night, and now we were on to my dojo.

We were running down the street, sticking close together with little Wendy in the center with Grendiney. As we reached the large red building I pulled everyone to a stop, holding our my arm. " Wait. Something isn't right." I muttered and Gajeel snorted. " Red, a lot of stuff now a days ain't right." He hissed as Maria slapped him. " Not what I meant. Someone's in the dojo," I pointed to the open door with my kendo sword that was now stained red and dented. Behind the paper doors we could see something moving about.

" Erza, Natsu and Gajeel, you guys go check it out. No noise." Maria said and we nodded before slowly approaching the building. Gajeel went in first,  his crossbow raised, I followed him and Natsu brought up the rear with his bat. I inched farther inside, the boys flanking me on both sides as we approached the dark figure. It turned and I gasped at the pale face that smiled weakly at us. " Erza, good to see you." He said weakly, and I dropped my kendo sword, catching him as he toppled over."Jellal, what happened?" I gasped, slowly sinking to the floor as I held him.

He was quiet and I feared the worst as i laid him on the floor. He was still breathing though it was strained so I took that as a good sign. " Erza... His arm..." Gajeel said quietly, pointing to his left arm with his crossbow and I looked, immediately feeling nauseous. I carefully pushed his coat back to give me a better look at the amputated appendage. It was cut off just above the elbow, a belt and cloth tornequeted the end to stop the bleeding though telling by his clothes he had already lost so much.

" We finish searching the building, then we will come back to him." I said quietly as I pulled his coat back on, folding my own beneath his head. They nodded and spread out, searching the small building to make sure it was clear.  Once we were sure it was clear we locked all the doors and windows, making sure it was secure. " Alright go get the other. I'm going to check on Jellal." I said and they nodded before heading outside.

I knelt beside my blue haired friend, carefully checking him for any more wounds or worse, bite marks. I felt someone kneel beside me and I looked up to see Grendiney sensei. " He isn't bitten, but his arm..." I said quietly and she gently pat my shoulder. "The bleeding has been stopped, and I think he went into shock. We won't know exactly what happened until he wakes up. Is there anything more comfortable for him to lay on?" She asked and I nodded, standing to walk to the supply closet. I pulled out some old sparing mats and drug them out for everyone to sleep on, taking two over to where Jellal was laying. I put them on top of each other to give a little more cushion and looked over to the boys who were talking quietly. " Gajeel, give me a hand." I called and he made his way over.

With his help we managed to get Jellal on top of the mats. I went to the dojos old kitchen and dug around for food. I hadn't gone shopping yet but luckily there was enough food for everyone. Once everyone was fed we sat quietly, candles our only source of light. We were getting ready for sleep when Jellal started to stir. For a precaution Gajeel kept his crossbow trained on him.

" Erza?" He asked weakly as he opened his eyes and I smiled. " I'm here Jellal. What happened to you?" I asked as I took his hand. He sighed a little and tried to sit up but Grendiney pushed him back down. He frowned but didn't fight her. " Well, after I got away from the school i made my way here, hoping to find you." He said and I tried to ignore the heat in my face. " On my way here I found some people hiding in a gas station and decided to rest up there. One of them was bitten though, and he turned on us. I tired saving the others but," he closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.

" And then, he bit me."

Levy, Maria, Lucy and Gajeel all had their weapons on him in an instant and he held out his hand. " Wait! That was two days ago!" He shouted and I frowned. " How are you alive then?" Levy demanded. He shrugged off his jacket and held up what was left of his arm. " I cut off the bitten appendage. I didn't know if it would work... But anything is better than being one of those things." He said as we all stared wide eyed at him. " You realize how foolish that was right?" I snapped at him and he laughed. " I'm alive arnt I?" He grinned and I rolled my eyes. " We should stay here until he is well enough to travel." Maria said then.

" We need a plan anyway, we've gone to everyone's houses. What now?" Juvia asked. " Well dad said something about watching the east, maybe we should head that way?" Natsu suggested. "Let's just take this one day at a time." Levy said as she headed for her mat. Their were murmurs of agreement as everyone headed to bed. I watched as Natsu and Lucy lay close together, Gajeel and Levy actually shared a mat as did Wendy and Grendiney. Maria was by the door and Juvia was beside Grey. I took laid a mat beside Jellal and laid facing him, blushing lightly as he stared at me. " What?" I asked and he smiled. " I'm just glad your alive Scarlet." I smiled and closed my eyes, drifting to sleep.
