Story 3: Can't be together 1
Part 1.
1. Three years later
It is a famous and long-standing university in London. Each towering tower and ancient lecture halls from the 18th century, creating a nostalgic feeling with a bit of sadness. Combined with the cold space of winter, the deserted streets where everyone hides in thick coats, making the space even lonelier.
But even so, there are spaces that are completely opposite to the university setting. In one corner of the campus, there is a great hall that specializes in organizing parties for students and graduate students. Tonight is the last night before winter break, so many students gather here to party, chat and say goodbye before the long break.
The student body was not divided by skin color, gender, or age, but even so, there was one thing in common between them, which was the intelligence that radiated from their eyes. They were all talented students and interns. Everyone, regardless of gender, was gathered on the dance floor, swaying to the music, watching and enjoying. On the dance floor were two beautiful girls dancing together. One was mixed-race, with shoulder-length blonde hair, tall and beautiful but giving off a neutral feeling that attracted both men and women. She held a glass of wine in her hand, her eyes burning as she looked at the Asian girls dancing around her. The other girl was similarly beautiful, but very feminine, and so the seductive feeling she was giving off was even more intense. Not to mention, her dance was passionate and provocative.
Ignoring the burning gazes of the onlookers around, she put one arm around the other person's shoulder, reached out to take the glass of wine and took a sip. Then she smiled half-heartedly, leaned forward and kissed the blonde girl on the lips, returning the amount of wine she drank to the other person. She took the opportunity to bite the corner of the other person's lips, then left, not forgetting to lick her lips and wink provocatively.
"Don't go, stay here with me." The other begged.
"No."
Before the blonde girl could grab her and kiss her deeper, she had already left. Everyone on the floor screamed and cheered for this hot girl. Every time she appeared, she became the center of every party.
She is none other than Yoko Apasra Lertprasert, a former famous actress of Thailand, 29 years old, currently studying for a master's degree in public relations at this prestigious university. At the same time, regardless of her skin color, nationality or past as a famous actress, just her own charm alone, Yoko obviously became the goddess of this university.
The blonde mixed-race girl who danced with her just now was the heiress of a wealthy corporation, Alexandra. Alex had pursued Yoko for a long time, but the two of them were still in an ambiguous relationship. Looking at Yoko's cold figure as she left the party without even looking back, Alex sighed. They had dated, held hands, hugged, and kissed, but she still couldn't become Yoko's lover.
Yoko Apasra ignored her own drunkenness and swayed as she left the party. No one had ever stopped her from coming and going before. Her classmates were already familiar with her and did not stop or help her. Yoko slowly left the hall. But as soon as she stepped out of the door, someone put a thick coat on her shoulders. The coat was warm, soft, and fragrant. Yoko glanced at the person who put the coat on her. Because she had given Yoko the coat, she was only wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a sweater. Without blinking her eyes, without any comments or emotions, Yoko turned her face away and left.
After walking a while, to a place where she could catch a taxi, Yoko stood still and watched the familiar person hail a taxi for her. When they got in the car, both of them remained silent, not saying anything to each other.
"Number 4 Privet Drive, East End." The woman spoke, in a low voice telling the driver the address to go to.
Yoko silently looked out the window. Outside, the space was quiet because it was night, but the scene still clearly showed how bustling this place was, the Christmas atmosphere was permeating, the festive lights were everywhere. Just now when she was at the party, Yoko had seen this person a long time ago, standing far away and watching her dance with Alex, even the kiss with the wine was seen without missing it. However, that person was still patiently waiting for her, then calmly walking together like this.
The car drove for a while and arrived. The apartment at 4 Privet Drive was bought by Yoko when she came here to study. She took out the key and opened the door, walked in, and the other person calmly followed her. As soon as she entered the house, Yoko immediately took off her shirt and returned it.
Sighing, Faye Peraya Malisorn walked to the sofa and sat down, then raised her head to look at her.
Yoko did the same, arms crossed, standing straight, looking down at Faye from above.
"Why did you come here this time?" With an expressionless face, Yoko went into the kitchen and took out a bottle of wine, shaking the glass while asking in the middle of the room.
"I have a fashion event in Italy, so I'll come visit you for a few days." Faye stood up and walked over, intending to take Yoko's glass of wine.
But Yoko was quicker, she drank it all in one gulp, looked up and looked straight into Faye's eyes, and frowned.
Who allowed you?
Faye looked away, her eyes filled with unknown emotions. She also reached out, poured herself a glass of wine, and drank it all.
She stood so close that Yoko could clearly see every line on her body. Her shoulder-length hair was loose and combed back, and because she had been standing in the snow for so long, there was still a bit of frost on it. Her face was the perfect beauty of a beauty queen, a successful movie queen. The age of 36 was just a number, and it left no trace on this perfect face.
When they met, Yoko Apasra was just a 22-year-old actress, while Faye Peraya was already a beauty queen and a famous actress. In the blink of an eye, 7 years have passed. After going through so many things, they still meet again.
Standing next to her, Faye's height and perfect body were no less feminine and beautiful. However, her eyes were tinged with sadness.
Sad? What sad thing, how funny.
Yoko took another glass of wine, this time Faye didn't stop her. Eyes downcast, Yoko drank it all.
Yoko looked at Faye, without anger, without worry, without any emotion. As if She was looking at something that was not real in my life.
As the years passed, Yoko was no longer the cute little girl from that year. She was taller, now 168cm, but still shorter than Faye. Her face had gradually lost its childishness, no longer plump with chubby cheeks. In return, she had a mature, attractive face, giving off the feeling of aged wine, mysterious. Maybe it was because of maturity, or maybe it was because she had experienced many heartbreaking things.
Yoko stood up straight, facing Faye, reaching out to straighten Faye's untidy collar.
"How long have we been broken up?" She whispered softly as if it was nothing more than a normal thing.
"Three years..".... two months, 15 days, Faye replied in a low voice and muttered to herself.
Faye, like Yoko, had changed. Her face was gaunt and angular, the smile was gone from Faye's lips, or the person who used to make her smile was no longer near.
"It was three years, two months and 15 days." Yoko remembered clearly, saying it all. Her voice was still even and her face was cold: "Do you still remember the reason for breaking up?"
"..." Faye sighed discreetly, her eyes downcast: "It was me who broke up with you."
"That's right, you left me." Yoko smiled bitterly: "I studied abroad for more than three years, and You also left me for three years, Faye."
2. Three years ago
The movie Blank was a success beyond expectations. So successful that even though the two main actors were not unknown actors, they suddenly rose to fame and became A-list stars. Especially when the CEO of Ninestar at that time, Ms. Wanwan, had extremely smart implementation plans and business plans. Taking advantage of the time when Blank was famous and the two main actors Faye Peraya and Yoko Apasra were very popular, Wanwan let the two actors go north, organizing a series of events in the most populous and developed country in Asia. Then, striking while the iron was hot, Faye and Yoko went on a world tour, organizing events in the most developed countries in Europe and America.
Faye and Yoko entered the most successful period of their career. From a couple in the online drama Girl Love, they won the couple of the year award and the most popular female lead award. Ninestar also started out as a newly established company, becoming famous and successful. After that, Faye and Yoko continued to develop new projects and achieved the same success as Blank. Therefore, their ability and top-notch beauty have been proven and they are famous in the global LGBT community.
Not only that, the feelings between Faye and Yoko were more than that. Naturally, they became lovers.
Three years, three years of success in both money, fame and love, were also the three happiest years of the two people.
Three years and two months, 15 days ago, it was a hot and stuffy day. It didn't rain, but the sun didn't shine clearly either, creating a gloomy and tired feeling. That evening, Yoko returned home after finishing work. She had to run to school all day to prepare for the application to give up her scholarship to study abroad, then take photos for the new magazine. She hadn't seen Faye all day, because she heard that she had something to do at the salon. Three years later, Faye's original Amor store had expanded into a chain of spas and salons with many stores, so Faye was often busy.
Since they fell in love, Yoko has moved in with Faye in her apartment. They have also introduced themselves to each other's families. For those who cherish love, one month or three years are all the same. They cherish every moment together.
Today Yoko will tell Faye about her giving up her scholarship to study abroad. Faye didn't know about her applying for this scholarship.
When she got home and saw that the lights were dark, Yoko thought that no one was home, so she turned on the light. Unexpectedly, in the middle of the living room, Faye had been sitting there for a long time.
"I didn't know you were home. Why didn't you turn on the light? Have you had dinner yet?" Yoko asked Faye while putting away her shoes.
But Faye didn't answer her. Feeling that Faye was acting strange, Yoko paused.
Yoko immediately dropped everything in her hands, and walked over to Faye.
"What's wrong?" Seeing Faye's expression, Yoko's heart skipped a beat. It was as if something in Faye had gone off, her eyes were confused and red.
Yoko sat next to Faye and held her hand. They had been together for almost three years, she understood every strange expression of Faye.
Seeing Yoko holding her hand, Faye suddenly let go of her hand and took a step back. She looked straight into Yoko's eyes, clearly seeing the worry and panic in her eyes, not understanding what was going on. But Faye seemed to have been thinking about something for a long time, and now was the time to say it all:
"Let's break up."
Faye said four words, making Yoko's blood freeze. She couldn't believe her ears, couldn't believe what the person in front of her had just said. Yoko's eyes immediately turned red, her heart felt like it was constricting and couldn't beat.
"What are you saying?" Yoko stuttered
Did she hear wrong? What did the person she loved more than her own life just say?
"Let's break up.." The person repeated, clearly word by word "... Let's break up, go our separate ways."
Yoko trembled, holding Faye's hand, tears rolling down her cheeks. She had to control the pain in her heart from the information she had just heard, otherwise she wouldn't be able to speak.
"Why? Why do you say that? Did I do something wrong? I can fix it..."
Faye's eyes were red, her mouth was bitter, but like a pre-recorded tape, Faye continued to speak: "There's no reason to continue. Your contract is over, we're already famous. Ninestar has many other couples. Starting the end phase now... is the right time."
Every sentence said, is the end of two words, all emphasize the breakup.
I'm not hearing wrong, Faye really said that.
"Do you really understand what you're saying, what we've been to each other for the past three years?" Yoko pleaded, holding Faye's hand, tears already wetting her shirt.
It can't be true, it can't be, she can't treat me like that?
"The past three years... have been all business." Faye pulled her hand out of Yoko's, then she stood up and wanted to turn around and leave.
"Is it because of my studying abroad?" Smart as Yoko was, she immediately thought of this, it could only be this. Her voice was starting to get hoarse, her eyes were stinging from the tears that kept flowing.
Faye paused, then turned back to look at Yoko again, not knowing why she smiled: "Where you go has nothing to do with me anymore. I'm sorry for taking advantage of you all this time... Let's end it and set each other free, Yoko."
Yoko sat still, her mind blank from what she had just heard, her eyes looking down at the floor, the beautiful black carpet spread out below, next to Faye's heels. Today Faye was wearing a pair of black high heels with red heels, from a famous brand, the red color of those high heels was very beautiful, but suddenly it was like an obsession.
Yoko's tears fell drop by drop, falling on her clenched hands.
Without raising her head, she bitterly said each word: "I know for sure there must be a reason for you to say that. Tonight, I will pretend you never said these words. If tomorrow I wake up, you are still here, we will still be us..." Staying awake, she tried to say each word. Yoko opened her palm, letting her tears fall onto her bare hand.
"...If tomorrow morning, you are no longer here. Then in this life, let's never meet again. Whatever the reason, what you said was very...." cruel.
Yoko stood up, facing Faye and looking straight into her eyes. Her face was filled with tears, her eyes were dim and lost their usual light. Just a few words from the person she loved the most, the pain radiated throughout Yoko's body.
Faye clenched her fists, her brows furrowed.
Yoko went straight into the room and closed the door. As soon as the door closed, Yoko leaned her back against the door and slowly sank to the floor. She pulled her knees up, hugged herself, and cried, but did not dare to make any sound.
It's not real, it's not real... It's all a nightmare, everything is fine, it's just a nightmare. Tomorrow will be peaceful again.
That night was a sleepless night for both of them.
The next morning, Faye had left, leaving only Yoko in the apartment.
A week later, the young and famous actress Yoko Apasra Lertprasert, whose career was at its peak, suddenly held a press conference, announcing that her contract with Ninestar had ended and she would withdraw from the entertainment industry to focus on her studies. Three days later, Yoko left Thailand and flew to England, starting a new chapter in her life.
The day Yoko went to the airport, everyone saw her off, except one person.
3. Present
Yoko's London apartment was a small one-bedroom apartment for a young single person. Over the past three years, Yoko had gotten used to Faye suddenly appearing at the end of the year, from the initial affection to the present coldness. Yoko always ignored Faye, whether she wanted to sleep in a hotel or wherever she wanted. So Yoko would usually sleep in the room, while Faye slept outside on the sofa.
Yoko woke up, washed her face and changed her clothes, and went out, only to see breakfast already laid out on the dining table. This time, someone was cooking a traditional Thai dish, fried noodles. Looking at the steaming plate of food on the table, Yoko glanced and realized that these things were not available in the refrigerator, someone had gone to the supermarket early and cooked for her.
Without saying a word, ignoring the person sitting on the sofa looking at her, Yoko walked over to the dining table, took her chopsticks and started eating breakfast.
Faye stood up, walked closer to Yoko, and reached out to tie Yoko's hair so that she could eat more easily. But Yoko pushed Faye's hand away, glanced at Faye, frowned, grabbed the hair tie from Faye's hand, and Yoko tied her own hair. Then She started eating, and during this time, no one said a word to each other.
Yoko is no longer the innocent 23 year old girl who likes to be taken care of.
Looking at me like that, Faye didn't react, she just turned around and got me a cup of hot tea. This is the kind of tea Yoko like, Faye brought it here from Thailand.
Glancing at the cup of tea Faye made for her, Yoko stood up and poured herself a glass of water. From a corner Yoko couldn't see, Faye gently closed her eyes, sighed, and then gently opened them to continue looking at her. Many years ago, Yoko had memorized what she liked to drink, but she had only confused the type of tea she liked many times. Now, the tea was the right kind, but the person was no longer there.
Today is the first day of the holiday, but Yoko has an appointment to go out with Alex this afternoon. Faye only found out about this through her phone conversation with her friend. However, as if she were invisible, Faye didn't say anything, and Yoko didn't mention anything else either. Yoko sat on the sofa working, while Faye quietly walked around the house. From filling the fridge with food, to vacuuming and packing things for her, she did everything in her house. Even the few green plants in the house were replaced every year by Faye.
Yoko closed her laptop, her eyes blankly watching the beautiful woman tidying up the things on her kitchen cabinet. It was still the same scene of her sitting on the sofa doing nothing, while he did everything. But this was no longer the apartment in the center of Bangkok where the two of them had lived together for two years. They were no longer lovers, they couldn't even be friends.
But this woman, what is she doing, what the hell is she doing here?
Last night, Yoko couldn't help but mention the events of three years ago. She doesn't know since when, but Yoko no longer indifferently chased this person out of the house like before. But Yoko also couldn't peacefully forget all the past. It was as if the two of them were torturing each other.
No, it must be Faye who tortured me. Tortured me from the first day we met until now.
Yoko got up and went into the bedroom, lying on the bed with the blanket covering her head.
Go to sleep, don't look anymore, just sleep, when you wake up, that person will disappear like before.
In the afternoon, Yoko woke up, got ready to go out, opened the door and saw Faye lying on the sofa, asleep. Yoko proactively walked closer, trying not to make a sound to avoid waking her up.
Yoko's sofa wasn't that big, and that person showed up during her first year of studying abroad. After that, Yoko switched to this very long L-shaped sofa. But Faye was still uncomfortable and was curled up sleeping. Yoko sat loosely on the stool next to her, looking intently at Faye's face.
This beautiful face, three years ago said the cruelest words, then disappeared, leaving her to study abroad. The three years of contract with Ninestar, were also three years Yoko devoted all her heart to this person, Faye Peraya.
Does anyone in this world know that you are such a cruel person?
Does anyone in this world know how cruelly you hurt me?
Yoko stood up, grabbed her coat and bag, and without looking back opened the door and went out.
It's just that if she had turned around, she might have seen that someone she thought was sleeping, was actually awake long ago. That person pretended and silently watched Yoko leave.
4. First year of study abroad
It has been more than a year since Yoko came to this school. But her soul still lingers somewhere half a world away. Since the day she came here, except for when she had classes, she locked herself in the house and immersed herself in suffering. Yoko cried when she ate, cried when she slept, and sat in the bathtub with salty tears still falling down her face.
Yoko misses Faye, misses Faye so much
Walking on the street, a gust of wind blew, the leaves rustled, also making Yoko think of Faye, remember her smile, remember every time the two of them joked and blew on each other's lips.
Listening to a song, Yoko also thinks of how good it would be for that person to sing it. Eating a dish, She also thinks of how her ex lover used to cook for her every day. Every few weeks, Yoko has to change her pillow because the old one is soaked with tears every night. To the point that there are lonely days when Yoko misses Faye so much, for no reason at all, Yoko stands in the middle of a busy street, tears falling drop by drop, making passersby unable to bear to look.
Yoko doesn't dare to drink coffee, because just smelling coffee makes her cry. Gradually it becomes a fear, just smelling coffee makes her start to vomit. Especially the type of coffee that person likes, Yoko is afraid of it, afraid when she has to think about the days when every morning She buys someone a cup of coffee that person likes. She is afraid every time she passes by a coffee shop, and even afraid when she passes by a hair salon, she can't help but look.
Many nights, Yoko woke up in the middle of the night, wandering around her apartment, only to realize that this was not the luxurious apartment in the center of Bangkok that she used to live with someone. So no matter how much she searched, that person was not here. That fateful night, Faye Peraya disappeared from her life.
Yoko was depressed like that, during the first year of studying abroad. No one knew who she was, no one knew that Yoko was a very famous actress in Thailand, no one knew that she was a young lady from a noble family. That person abandoned Yoko Apasra, Yoko also left the Yoko Apasra of that day in Thailand.
This London, is only harboring an empty Yoko
That was the case at first, but after half a year, things didn't get better, and it got worse. Yoko started drinking. Every night, she had to drink a lot of alcohol to sleep. Sometimes, when she went to school in the morning, she smelled of alcohol because she had been drinking all night.
Until one day, Yoko fainted in the middle of the lecture hall and was taken to the hospital by Alex. That was the first time the two met. Yoko had a stomach ulcer from drinking too much and debauchery, she lost several kilos at one time.
At that moment, Yoko truly realized that Faye had disappeared from her life. Yoko had been here for a long time, without a single message, phone call, or inquiry. Everything was real, Faye and Yoko could never go back to the way they were. The messages Yoko sent her, from reproach to coldness, to begging her to appear, Yoko had done it all.
But useless
That time in the hospital, Yoko cried so much that Alex didn't know what was wrong with this strange girl, so she was flustered and could only hug Yoko's shoulders and pat her clumsily. Yoko cried so much that her eyes hurt and tears couldn't flow anymore.
It was not until the Christmas break of the first year of studying abroad that afternoon that Yoko walked out of the library with a stack of books to go home. But immediately, she saw a familiar figure across the street. Faye Peraya Malisorn, with platinum hair, leather jacket, jeans, black high-heeled boots, beautiful, stood straight right across the street and looked at her. The cars on the road between them, could not make them take their eyes off each other.
I'm seeing an illusion again, Yoko thought, I'm seeing an illusion of that person again.
Wake up, Yoko Apasra
Then, like a fleeting illusion that she had seen countless times, Yoko shook her head to console herself, turned around and walked away. Yoko caught a bus and returned home, not knowing that someone was still watching her.
That night, Yoko did the same as usual, ate dinner, studied, drank a small glass of wine to help her sleep, and lay down on the bed. Since she had a stomach ulcer, she didn't dare drink much anymore, but if she didn't drink, she wouldn't be able to sleep. Lying on the bed, Yoko tried to dispel the image she saw that afternoon and went to sleep.
An hour, then two hours passed, the feeling in her heart was still strong, her heart was beating so fast that it was hard to control.
Yoko stood up and looked out the window to the street below. Just as she had suspected, right below the red public telephone booth, a beautiful girl was standing.
Faye Peraya Malisorn, that cruel woman
Still wearing the same outfit Yoko saw this afternoon, this person followed her home and stood there for hours.
Grabbing a thin scarf, Yoko ran downstairs. As soon as she opened the door, she saw Faye standing across the street, and Faye was also looking at her.
One year, two months, fifteen days no see
Yoko crossed the street and stood directly opposite Faye.
"Why are you here?" Yoko questioned.
Faye, her eyes contained something Yoko didn't understand
"Why are you wearing such a thin scarf? It'll be cold." Faye took off her coat and put it around Yoko's shoulders.
Will it be cold?
Yoko's tears began to fall, she threw that coat on the ground, she was the one who cruelly abandoned her, she was the one who disappeared from my life all this time. Then when my heart began to rest, she reappeared, asking Yoko if she was cold?
Miserable
Yoko raised her hand to slap Faye's face, Faye saw that and closed her eyes.
But no slap fell, Faye opened her eyes, only to see Yoko looking at her painfully, her tears falling down her face. Yoko hit Faye's shoulder repeatedly, one by one, and said painfully
"Why did you appear? Why did you appear? All this time I've been trying to forget you, why did you appear..."
Yoko started crying loudly, she grabbed Faye's shirt: "Why did you leave me, why did you leave me? What did I do wrong, did I do anything wrong? Why did you leave me..."
"...Faye. Why did you leave me? Why....You can tell me, I will fix it, whatever you don't like, I will fix it. Don't leave me, please, don't leave again. Do you know how much I missed you? Do you know how much I cried every night? Why did you leave me, why..."
"...You came here to get back together, right? Can we get back together? I'll agree to whatever you want, can we get back together?"
Yoko cried loudly, she hugged Faye, crying as if she wanted to express all her pain. She wanted to tell Faye how her heart had been torn apart since the day she left. Yoko wanted to throw away her last dignity, begging Faye to come back.
Faye hugged her, said nothing but just comforted her, her tears were also falling silently.
"If you just come back, I'll go back to Thailand, I'll come back immediately... I'll give up everything, I just need you to come back." Yoko was aggrieved, cried and begged, "I'll come back to you, can you come back? I can't live without you... can you come back?"
Hearing this, Faye's body stiffened.
"We... aren't going back. I just happened to pass by here because of an event."
