The idea of hunting was horrid to the young pups. " momma I don't wanna hunt" said Shay snuggling against Ash's warm belly. "Do you want to get killed by a bear" grinned Ash. Shay shook her head and stood tall in the swaying grass. Ash wagged his head in approval. Zodiac was laying in the grass looking up at the bright sky his yellow eyes glowing in the sea of blue. Willow smiled down at her only son, seeing herself in him. Longing to be someone. He bent down and snapped at the grass cutting it with his long sharp teeth. Alisyn was laid against the back of a tree blending in ever so slightly. She was whimpering quietly. Willow stood up and walked over to Alisyn and licked her furry face. " What's wrong, dear" asked Willow. " What if a bear does eat me up mamma" asked Alisyn looking up at Willow with her green eyes. Willow shot a dirty look at Ash. Who returned a guilty grin and went back to tackling Grace. "That won't happen, your tough and brave" said Willow licking her nose. Alisyn giggled " That's a lie, I'm weak, I'll die " said Alisyn letting her head thud on her paws. " but you are, you are calm and smart. You are like a strong tree" said Willow shaking her bushy tail in Ashilyn's face. Alisyn smiled and trodded off to her brother. " Come on children, time to hunt." Said Willow nudging them along a human track. Grace and Alisyn sniffed duck and heard a running stream and prodded off Willow,Shay, and Zodiac close behind. Willow at the rear, lifted up her ear when she heard a twig crack, but assumed it was only a racoon. They got down to the stream.

The stream was beautiful and clear with a small cliffside on the edge to the left. Flowery vines hung from it. The water was filled with croaks and ducks! Zodiac and Shay slid down into the grass. Alisyn and Grace getting the hint as all four of the shuffled in the grass, thier tails as low as possible. They drifted into the water. Grace was hungry, but also excited yet mostly hungry. She busted with long strides and caused about 5 or so ducks to fly away. Except for two. One with a group of ducklings and the other swimming head in the water. She turned to the one with ducklings, and nudged all of them to safety. Including the mother and signaled to the duck swimming around with his head in the water. Alisyn dived under the water softly yet gracefully, her fur soaking wet, she grabbed the webbed feet of the Duck, and lunged it under the water. Cutting it's neck with her sharp teeth. She carried it to the small Cliffside, Zodiac took his time eating enjoying the scenery, Shay ate the wing explaining the story over and over to her parents who watched the whole thing in tree shade. Grace and Alisyn munched on the duck quickly and jumped in the water for a swim. They later came up to the hillside to sit beside the skulk. When the sound of a gun being reloaded was heard from the foxes, Willow stood up, and held her ears high. The pups mumbled In nervousness. A man walked down to the pond and lowered his hand into the pond gathering the water in his hand and sipping, he glanced up and noticed willow baring her teeth. He raised his rifle and aimed it at Willow
