Prologue

When Maya-a Cupid on her final earthly test, descends to the mortal world with failure equating to banishment, she never expected her boss to be Richard Steel, the cold and enigmatic man, death himself.

Bound by rules from opposite sides of the abyss, Maya unaware of his true nature must do everything possible to pass her earthly test while Richard, unaware of her true nature, begins to unravel as his dying soul draws inexplicably to her light.
