Today was a dreary day over Jacksonville, Florida. It was raining all day and people was going along with their umbrellas, minding their business. Except for one. There was tall female with black bob cut, wearing a Buddy Police uniform, standing there, trying to figure out something. It was feeling that something was amiss. She turned to the left, towards the dark alleyway, and notice somebody. She went towards the figure. It was a young girl around 12-13 years old. She had silver hair and was wearing some baggy clothes. The women squatted down to the girl's level. The girl was a bit timid. "Hi there, my name is Rosena." She offered her hand. The girl was still timid. "Do you have a place to go?" The girl shook her head. "Then how about we go to my place? It's better than being out here in the rain." Rosena let out a soft smile. The girl was cautious about her but she accepted it. They made their way to her place.

"Kurumi! I'm home!" Rosena called. Kurumi poked her head out of the kitchen. "Hiya Rosey. I'm making stir-fry for dinner now." The girl's face slightly lit up. "Okay. Oh, do you mind if one more join us?" She stepped to the side to reveal the little girl. Kurumi smiled. "Don't worry, there's plenty to go around." "Nice." She then looked at the girl. "Let's get you out of those wet clothes." The three of them was peacefully eating their dinner. The girl was still a bit cautious towards them but it didn't stop her from eating. "How's the food?" Kurumi asked. She did a slightly nod. "Thank goodness." After Rosena took a sip from her drink, she popped a question. "So, do you have a name?" The girl shrugged her shoulders. "No name, no home..." Rosena said to herself. She looked at Kurumi who replied with a nod. "Hey, how about you stay with us for the night?" The girl took a moment, then made a slight nod. "Great! You can take my bed and I'll sleep on the couch." The girl was lying in Rosena's bed, thinking about what happened tonight. Then Rosena appeared in the doorway. "Goodnight, and sweet dreams." She then turn off the lights and close the door. The girl closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning arrived and the girl slowly made her way down the stairs. She was looking to see if anyone was around. "Good morning!" Rosena called from the kitchen. The girl made her way there to see that Rosena was making breakfast. "It will be done soon, so go ahead and take a seat." She did as she said. Minutes later, Rosena served her breakfast while she made her own plate then took a seat. "It will just be the two of us for now." A small light came from her pocket. A small red dragon with three metal spikes on it's back appeared next to her. "I see how it is then.." Rosena picked the dragon up and place him into her lap. "Sorry, it will be the 3 of us. Kurumi had to go to work." She explained. The girl was a bit intrigued with the dragon. "This here is Red, my buddy." "Nice to meet you." The dragon said. The girl gave him a little wave. "Got any plans after breakfast?" Rosena asked. The girl looked a bit worried. "Don't worry, I'm not getting rid of you, in fact how about you stay with us?" She suggested. The girl was shocked at that statement. "Kurumi and I discussed it last night and she agrees." The girl took a minute to think about it, then gave her a smile. "Great! With that out of the way, let's give you a name." Rosena took out an index card with a couple of name suggestions and gave it to her. "You can choose a name you like from there." The girl looked over the names but one stood out to her the most. She pointed at it and Rosena took a look at it. "Hmm, Hope Thompson...I think is fits." The girl's face lit up. "Then from now on, you will be known as Hope Thompson." She gave a nod. "Since you're living with us, I took off for the next 3 days so we can get you settled in." Rosena said. "That means after we're done with breakfast, it will be a girls day out or days out." Hope was getting excited for her little adventure with Rosena.

The two of them went shopping to get items for Hope, registered her for school, and was just hanging out. It was their last day of their little adventure and they was in the park, watching some Buddyfights going on. Hope was amazed by the fights that was taking place. Red was sleeping in her lap. "Do you like Buddyfight Hope?" Hope nodded. "Maybe you can participate in them yourself. They are awesome once you and your buddy fight together." Hope looked down at the sleeping Red. "Buddy...fight..."

The morning has arrived and Rosena was preparing Hope for her first day of school. "Got your books?" She nodded. "Your papers and pencils?" She nodded once again. "Your BuddyNavi?" She puffed out her checks. "Fine, fine. I do have a present for you." She handed her a silver case. Hope opened it and her eyes was wide open. It had a silver core deck case with a Buddyfight deck next to it. "That's my old deck when I first played Buddyfight, The Krypt Kingdom." Hope closed the case and gave Rosena a big hug. "Thank you..." She said softly. Rosena couldn't believe that she spoke. "No problem." Hope headed out the door and waved at Rosena and she waved back. "Bye Rose-" She quickly shook her head. "Bye Mom!" Hope out a big smile and made her way to school. Rosena was speechless. "I'm a mother now? I don't mind, it will be fun!" She locked the door and went to her job.

In a classroom, some students was discussing Buddyfight before Charles showed up. "Okay settle down. We have a new student today. You may come on in." Hope walked in like his said and face the class. "My name is Hope Thompson." "Tell something about yourself Hope." She looked at all the other students and she looked down. Some people was whispering. "What would Mom do?" Then she remembered her present. "Um, I like Buddyfight." She said. Then the class clapped and she sighed. "Okay, okay. Ms. Thompson, why don't you sit by Mr. Arata and Ms. Rhinehart." She took her seat and class began. "Hi there, my name is Maia and this is Naiyo." Naiyo waved. "Hi there." And soon Hope went from an orphan to a girl who's adopted not just one but two legends. It won't be long before she realizes her destiny.
