|Chapter 2|

Ok so I'm a stupid American and used "Mr." in the last chapter without thinking about it, but this technically takes place in Japan, so I have to use their suffixes. I don't know them very well, so let me know if I use them wrong.

(Y/N)'s POV

"Good morning, class!" A voice called from the front of the room. Annoyed about being pried from my conversation with Chiaki, I looked at the front of the room. There, a lanky blonde man stood in a black suit, with a white undershirt, topped off with a short black hat.

At his words, the other conversations quickly died out, and all attention went to him.

"Welcome to Hope's Peak Academy! I'm your homeroom teacher for this year, Koichi Kizakura. I hope we all have a great year! Now, let's quickly go over what your Hope's Peak Academy school life will be like."

He kept talking about rules, expectations, schedules, and others. I was really only half listening, as I started daydreaming.

I bet Chiaki is really good at (F/G), she is the Ultimate Gamer after all. I wonder just how good at them she is. I play video games a lot, could I really beat her? Maybe I could ask here some time. Well, I don't really wanna bother her with some- "Alright, that's all class!" Kizakura-sensei spoke, breaking me out of my thoughts. "Don't set anything, or anyone, on fire and we'll be good." He chuckled.

Conversations broke out all around me. I looked around slightly confused, meeting eyes with Ryota. Noticing my obvious confusion, he spoke up. "We were given the rest of homeroom to introduce ourselves."

"Oh." I laughed nervously and scratched the back of my neck "I wasn't paying attention."

Having already introduced myself to Ryota, I looked to my right, only to see Chiaki chatting sleepily with another student, who had long blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a slight European accent. I decided to let them talk for a bit while I looked for somebody else to talk to. I saw a girl standing alone near her desk, looking almost lonely, so I decided to talk to her. Walking closer, I noticed the many bandages that covered her body, as well as her choppy, uneven black hair. I wonder what all that is about. No, now's not the time to focus on appearance.

"Hello." I greeted her kindly, holding out my hand. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N), nice to meet you."

She took my hand in hers and shook it, failing to hide the fact her hands were shaking. "U-um, I'm M-Mikan Tsumiki. I-It's nice to meet you as well." Suddenly, her eyes went wide. "I-It's ok if I-I say th-that, right? P-Please don't think I'm weird! I-I-I w-was just h-happy to meet my new c-classmate."

A bit shocked at her extremely timid nature, I quickly replied. "N-No, it's fine Mikan!" I say, though given Mikan's response, I may have unintentionally raised my voice a little too much.

"Eeee! Please don't hate meeeee!" She cried out, tears forming in her eyes. I could feel states from some of the others in the room.

What on Earth happened to this poor girl to make her like this?! "I don't hate you!" I said, trying my best to calm her down. "You didn't do anything wrong, it's fine."

"I-If you say so..." She said, wiping her tears.

"So what is your talent Mikan?" I asked, desperate to change the conversation subject.

"I-I'm the Ultimate Nurse." She responded meekly, fidgeting with her fingers. "H-How about you?"

"I'm the Ultimate (Y/T)." I answered calmly. I gave her a warm smile, causing her to smile shyly in return. After finishing our short conversation, I looked around for someone else. The blonde girl from earlier was now alone. Alright, if I walk over there to talk to her, I'll be right there to talk to Chiaki next.

With that thought in mind, I marched over to the girl, and introduced myself.

"Hello, I'm (Y/N) (L/N), Ultimate (Y/T). And you are...?" She greeted me with an equally charismatic smile.

"Sonia Nevermind." She said, her European accent showing quite prominently.

"Nevermind? Is that your real last name?" That's a strange last name... She only giggled in response, so I quickly asked her another question. "What's your talent?"

"Ultimate Princess." She stated, still smiling. I guess it makes sense that she's smiling so much, I'm sure that's part of being a princess. Still, it's weirding me out a little here.

After awkwardly finishing that conversation, I looked for Chiaki, and found her talking to Nagito. He appeared to be rambling on about something, whilst Chiaki looked at him with a slightly annoyed (albeit mostly disinterested) expression. Sighing, I looked around the room again to find someone to talk to. My eyes found a strange looking boy. He was tall, and wore a black jacket, as well as a long purple scarf and.. are... are those hamsters? Curious, I walked up to him.

"Did you bring hamsters to cl-" "Halt mortal!"

Surprised by his sudden exclamation. I looked away from the chubby golden hamster on his shoulder, and up to his face. His hair was black, though dyed white in some spaces. His eyes were different colors, one red and the other a pale green. He also had a long scar down his left eye.

"Let me inform you, lowly creature, that these aren't, in fact, hamsters. They are the four Dark Devas of Destruction! Cham-P, San-D, Jum-P, and Maga-Z. Of course, a mortal like yourself wouldn't understand the scope of these beasts, but let me inform you..."

...This guy is way too much.

He kept talking, though I felt my eyes wander away from his ranting and over to Chiaki, softly speaking to Mikan, while still staying focused on her game. She seemed much less annoyed talking to her than she was with Nagito. Still, I stared. Her soft voice, pink eyes, fluffy hair, everything about her was the embodiment of cute.

I kept staring at Chiaki, lost in a daze, until...

*BRINGGGGG*

The bell rang, alerting me that homeroom had ended, and it was time to get on to the next class.

"And by the way," the boy with the hamsters spoke up again. "The name is Gundham Tanaka! Remember it well, for it shall be the name to take down the world with pure evil!" He laughed maniacally while walking out to his next class. What on Earth is his deal?

While walking back to my desk, I heard a small thud. Looking to my right, not expecting much, I saw Mikan on the floor, in a rather... revealing... position. Looking at it surprised, I felt a small tint come to my cheeks. W-What the hell?! Why are you blushing?! This is high school not your own personal lesbian awakening! Pushing that thought aside I rushed to Mikan's side.

"How on Earth do you even manage to fall like that, you klutz!" Hiyoko sneered, causing me to glare back at her.

"Eeeeeee, I'm sorry! I'm so clumsy!" Mikan cried out. Putting my blush aside, I quickly helped Mikan to her feet.

"B-Be careful next time." I stuttered out. She nodded and quickly exited the room, the other students soon followed suit. All except Chiaki, who, for some reason, was picking up her things particularly slowly. Ignoring that fact, I started to pack up my things as well. I was on my way out when I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder. I turned around found my gaze immediately wandering to her soft pink eyes, looking almost a bit sleepy.

"(Y/N), I don't think we got the chance to properly introduce ourselves."

~~~
Sorry if this one is a bit short (and boring) compared to the last one. A lot of stuff happens on the first day of school, so I felt the need to split it up to spread the content out more, but as we ease into the story, the chapters will be a bit longer.
