~Chapter 3~
"Hey Papa! When will we be going to Science World?" Alfred asked as he stuck close to Arthur and Francis as the family made their way through the airport.
Francis chuckled, "Alfred, I've already told you, we have a week and a half before we get to that! But don't worry, we'll be going to several places before we get there." He answered without looking down.
"Hey Papa, when will we get on the plane?" Matthew asked. The first one took forever...
"This plane will take us straight where we need to be, and right now we just have to find the loading area..." Arthur answered.
After walking around for a few more minutes, they found the place where they need to be and found a place to wait. "Hey Mattie, while we wait, wanna play a game?" Alfred asked.
Matthew shrugged, "Why not?"
"Give me your hand."
"If you're going to practically rip my finger off, then no."
"Aww, but Mattie-!"
"No."
Instead of Alfred's stupid pinky game idea, the two decided to play one of their favorite secret games: Guess the Gay. It is when they look at a crowd and try to decide who's gay and who isn't. "You see that short person with the small stuffed panda, a man with makeup on his face? Looks like he's from somewhere in Asia?" Alfred whispered in Matthew's ear.
"And you see that taller person with white hair? He walked away from those four other people to talk to him." Matthew whispered.
"Gay?"
"Very."
This went on for a while before the plane was ready to take off. The person was calling out some directions to the people, and slowly everyone boarded the plane. America stole the window seat since Matthew had it for the first plane ride, and Francis took the window seat as well while Arthur sat in the aisle seat in front of the two brothers. Arthur considered sitting behind Alfred and Matthew to keep an eye on them, but he trusted Matthew that they won't get into any trouble.
"Papa, how long will this be?" Matthew asked.
"This is gunna take forever." Alfred whined.
Francis chuckled, "Well, it'll be nightfall by the time we get there, but you should enjoy the flight while it lasts."
Alfred giggled, "For Dad, he does it by pretending to read a book while pretending that he doesn't like Papa being a flirt!" He muttered to Matthew.
He couldn't help but giggle as well. "True!"

To Alfred, the plane ride took forever. He had fun at first when the plane took off, and Matthew played Guess the Gay with him, but Matthew got bored of it before Alfred did. Matthew stuck in his ear buds to listen to music on an incredibly high volume. Alfred was left by himself by the window. He looked outside, and at first the sight was majestic, but eventually they got too high to see anything well. He tried to sleep, but he simply wasn't in the mood.
After countless hours, they finally got off the plane and are now trying to find a taxi. Matthew was acting a bit...different, since they landed, but Alfred decided to question him later. They were in Vancouver, a whole new country in a whole new area! Alfred has only been to England and France before now. I wonder what adventures we'll have!
It was too dark to take a whole lot of the view in, so on the way to the hotel, Alfred pretended to be asleep in the taxi. He couldn't tell if Matthew was doing the same or if he's actually asleep. Either way, it didn't matter. Arthur and Francis must've thought that they were asleep, so they started chatting with the taxi driver. "Do you like your job?" Alfred heard Arthur say.
The taxi driver chuckled, "No, but it's a job and gets me paid, so I'll just have to deal with it."
Oh poo, it's one of those boring adult conversations! Alfred thought to himself. "Have you ever thought of moving anywhere besides Canada?" Arthur questioned.
"Im planning on moving to America. I have a lot of family there, and at first I thought that I wanted to live my own life by myself. I was one of those unlucky ones who doesn't have a soul mate, but I'm happy without one." You're just saying that. Alfred thought to himself. Or, is he?
Francis chuckled. "That's well. When I was younger, I was desperate to find my soul mate. Little did I know that my amour lived in England!"
"I personally never really thought about my soul mate." England said, "I was more focused on school, but I was horribly antisocial. Even the other antisocial people have a few close friends, but I never saw the use of them nor did I really care."
"And then I was sent to England for a student exchange program." Francis picked up. "When I found out that Arthur was my soul mate, I didn't expect that my amour would be a guy."
"Plus, when you started talking to me, you acted foolish."
"Well, it was you who was oblivious to your stone when I was talking to you."
"You also talked to me during the most awkward of moments!"
"Like sitting with you at lunch while you had no one else with you in the beginning of the period? Your reasons sound more like excuses to me."
"Oh shut up!" England looked over at the taxi driver again, "Sorry if we got a bit off topic. How did you decide that you didn't have a soul mate?"
The driver shrugged, "Well, I was never into love in the first place, even when I was in high school. My mom brought me with her to China for a vacation one time, and throughout the whole ride, my stone stayed ice cold."
Snap! I forgot to pay attention to my stone! Alfred thought to himself. He planned to take the temperature of his stone before he left the house so that he could check to see if it changed by the time they got to Canada, but he woke up too early to remember. Well, it didn't really change a whole lot, but then again, we didn't go to the other side of the world...
"Once I found out that we practically circled the world, I decided that I don't have a love and I don't need one. All I need in life is the family at home." The driver finished.
"It sounds like you have it all figured out." Arthur said. "We still worry about Alfred and Matthew. We're sure that Matthew has a partner, but Alfred's is still a mystery."
"By the looks of it, it seems like they're both too young to tell if they have one at all, so I'd say that there is someone for them" The driver said. "You don't want to be too young once you decide that you won't have a true love. Heck, some people with normal stones don't meet their lover until they're twenty."
Francis smiled, "That's a relief."

"Come on you two, we're here." Francis murmured as he opened the door closest to Alfred, who would've fallen out of the car if he didn't have his seatbelt on.
"Buh-wha-where are we?" Alfred said sleepily as he woke up. Gosh darn it, I fell asleep. He thought to himself as he rubbed his eyes. "We're here?"
Francis chuckled, "Yeah. Wake up your brother."
Alfred looked over at Matthew, the poor boy who was forced to sit in the middle. Arthur already got out of the taxi. That bum, did he forget about Matthew? He questioned, but didn't say anything. "Hey dude, get up." Alfred said as he pushed his brother over. He saw him pushing himself back up, just about ready to throw a sassy remark at his brother, but Alfred got out of the car and closed the door before anything happened.
Alfred somehow convinced Arthur to let him ride the cart for the bags to their room. It was on the first floor, so they didn't have to go through any elevators to Arthur's relief. Alfred remembered him telling a story about how he and Francis got stuck in an elevator before Arthur was willing to admit that he was his true love, and Francis was being a non-stop flirt. Before they got out of the elevator, Arthur's face was deep red, and he still didn't want to admit that he actually liked Francis back despite his stone. Arthur was always a stubborn bum.
They got to the room, and Alfred thought that it was pretty sweet. When you walk in, you are greeted with a tiny kitchen to the right and a small area with a couch and a television. Of course, there was a coffee table as well. There was a door to the left and the right, each leading into a small bedroom with their own bathrooms. The one to the left had two normal sized beds while the one to the right had a single larger bed. Normally, Alfred would be the first to explore the room and all the stuff he could find, but right now, all he wants to do is sleep. He walked into the one bedroom and flopped on the bed closest to the door. Matthew was more awake than he was, and when he walked into the room, he rolled his eyes at his brother's dorkiness and got ready to go to bed himself.
That night, Alfred wanted to fall asleep right there and then, but Arthur came into the room and told Alfred to get changed and get ready for bed properly. He didn't want to, but he decided that it would be easier to do what he said. Besides, once he went to bed after absentmindedly copying what Matthew did, he realized that his previous condition was awfully uncomfortable.
