Third Person POV

"So is everything okay with both of you now?" Man's mom asked with a hopeful expression on her face when she saw Man and Ben walk into the living room.

"Yes," Man replied.

"No," Ben replied at the exact same time.

Man's father's happily expectant face drastically changed into a somber one.

"Tell me the truth, both of you!" he demanded with an exasperated voice.

"Dad, don't worry, we're both okay," Man tried to appease his father.

"He's flying back to Japan tonight!" Ben said in a tearful voice.

"Can you not postpone your flight?" Man's mom tried to intervene for Ben.

"Mom, I had already booked my flight back to Japan on the same day that I left," said Man. "I can't cancel it. Plus my assistant manager is expecting me to come back by tonight because he has taken on some of my tasks on top of his so he's sure to have a heavy backlog if I don't come back right away."

Man's parents took on a resigned posture.

"I have agreed for Ben to accompany me to the airport," Man added so that his parents wouldn't feel too bad about his separation from Ben.

Man kissed his parents good bye and so did Ben. Man's mom had a special hug for Ben.

"You will be alright," Man's mom whispered to Ben in a reassuring tone.

At the airport, after check in and while waiting for his flight to be announced, Man treated Ben to dinner in one of the restaurants within the airport building.

Ben hardly touched the seared beef with asparagus sticks on the side. Man tried his best to consume everything on his plate. Because the flight was only a few hours, the airplane was only going to serve snacks and drinks, so Man needed to have a proper dinner before touchdown at Narita International Airport.

Before getting up from the table, Man covered Ben's hand with his.

"Promise me that you will stay faithful to me while I am gone," he said, gazing intently into Ben's eyes.

Ben nodded tearfully. He was already missing Man.

Soon they heard a pleasant voice over the airport paging system.

This is a final boarding call for Thai Airways flight 801 with nonstop service to Narita. All preferred passengers should be on board at this time. Khob khun khap.

Ben clung on to Man at the departure gate.

Man turned and gave Ben a deep long kiss.

"Erhmmm" they heard someone cough from behind. 

Man broke the kiss and gave Ben one final tight hug before walking through the departure gate.

Man fought back tears as the plane started to make its ascent to the skies.

The million stars that dotted the night sky did not give him comfort tonight. He was missing Ben so badly that his chest started to hurt. Coupled with that feeling was his anxiety that Ben could be tempted by Bright to take up with their previous relationship.

He sighed and said thanks to the flight steward who offered him a snack and a drink from his trolley.

The flight steward handed Man a packet of lightly salted roasted peanuts.

"You have a choice of orange juice, cranberry juice and a soda," said the flight steward. "What would it be for you?"

"Please make it a cranberry juice," Man replied.

The flight steward dug into his pocket and took out a piece of paper before lifting a midsize transparent tumbler of cranberry juice.

He handed the tumbler to Man with one hand and handed to Man's other hand the folded piece of paper that he had dug out of his pocket.

"What is this?" Man asked looking up at the face of the flight steward.

The flight steward did not answer. He just gave Man a smile and a wink before pushing the trolley down the aisle.

Man belatedly noticed how handsome the flight steward looked.

He opened the folded piece of paper that the flight steward had handed to him. It contained a name and a contact number.

Man also belatedly realized that the flight steward had a very strong resemblance to Ben.
