ᝰ drawing blood !

welcome to todays tutorial!

ik most of you have been asking for face highlights and I swear I will get to them I just haven't made anything rn where I really like the highlight hehe

plus, my honey moni requested this so it was top priority

so, today, ill be showing you how I draw my blood!

disclaimed: each graphic is different
depending on where you're gonna
put the blood.

but, here is my process
which can help you.

🎧 step 1:

first, this is the brush
I'm going to use for this
process.

(I use this brush for
basically everything)

you can make it
yourself. here is the
settings:

the size of the brush
depends on the surface
area you're trying
to cover in blood.

the more blood you're
adding, the bigger the brush.

if you're doing splatter,
it'll start smaller.

i then select a colour from
around this range to start.
try aiming for a mid red.

🖇️ step 2:

I create a new layer and
set the blend mode to
multiply

do this for every layer used

I then take my brush
and go over the area in
jagged movements.

i tend to lift my pen
off my Bluetooth tablet
every now and then
aswell as going up
and down like so

(sorry for the fatass
watermark, I forgot
to add one to the icon
as I was taking ss)

I then lower my opacity
to whatever feels right.
usually, it's around 70%

should look like this:

🫧 step 3:

I then select a
colour / tone from
around this region

(just a few shades darker)

using this shade,
I make my brush slightly smaller
and go back over parts I went over
in the same jagged movement.
(kind of like close together
lightning tbh, that's the best
way I can describe it)

i also make certain parts
of the blood darker such as
where the face curves
and where the blood pools
on her forehead.

should look like this.

( I also lower the opacity here
to about 77% but the
opacity doesn't always need
to be changed)

💿 step 4:

I then go back and change
the selected shade of red
once again to the
darkest shade
around here:

then, I go through and add
tiny specks of splatter
and mostly darken
any areas that need
darkened like so:

(I've gone over where
the blood would be thickest
such as her hairline
and wherever her face
curves such as her nose
and around her eye)

I then lower the layer
opacity to around 63% but
again, that is completely
dependant on the graphic

and that's it! you're done!

here's my finished product:

(some process done to her hair)

i hope this has helped in
some way and let me know
if you have any questions
or need any clarification !
