The day we call "tomorrow"

In a world full of lights where humanity continued to move forward without stopping, in a small isolated paradise surrounded by bright greens and yellows were two sleeping silhouettes leaning against a tree.

The vivid colors of the surroundings seemed to conspire to uniquely surround and highlight the two opposing colors that lay side by side in deep lethargy.  The peace that until moments ago was confused with the noise of steel colliding with each other or the muffled and cold noise of swords cutting flesh seemed very distant now, although it was still etched in the memory of both.  Both will constantly remember and for the rest of their lives that sensation, they both had felt it, they will also remember how terrifying were the red eyes or the silver hair that surrounded them for a time, but now if they were together they could see beauty in those things.

The warmth of both overlapping hands while they were only lulled by the sound of the birds singing or by the lullaby that the wind showed them moving their hair, was more than enough to see the beauty of the world. After all they had won one more day, they had won what we call "tomorrow" Just as the sun that sets in the evening and as the moon that rises in the sky, for and forever, they would be next to each other.  Being able to accept and see beauty in red and white and complement it with brilliant gold, two existences that promised to become inseparable, that was their reward after all the sea of blood and cold that they had passed through.

A pair of brown eyes stared at every part of her partner's face, taking care to analyze every little detail that had been missed after so many years at his side, every detail that had not been recorded in her memory every time he had smiled at her even being dressed in blue and white, every little detail that had popped out even if the silver color covered his hair.  Every little detail that she wanted to see after having read that letter a long time ago, every detail of the calm face that she hadn't seen in years.

Tracing a delicate path as if it were a map, from the wild locks that covered his forehead and under them, then his eyelashes, nose, until she finished with a soft caress with her fingers on his lips. She was trying to simmer in her mind the image of who she could now call a husband and share a life together.  Yes, that was what they had won. Time.

Time with the ability to heal wounds and deep scars that had been left on both of them, the time that until now had been cruel to them, the time that hadn't been their ally and hadn't  loved them as much as they loved each other, time who was being their lover now.  Right now it was giving them the opportunity to do something as simple as live, live one day after another, eat delicious food and laugh at stupid things, that was enough if they could be together.  If they could meet the gold and red one more time and turn brown and green that was more than enough.

"... umm ... Chizuru?" With a sweet sleepy voice two green eyes slowly opened as the hand that was slowly providing caresses stopped.  For a second thier eyes met and a doubtful hand went up to the face of the person who carried him on her legs.

"I'm here" And with a slight movement and delicate caress another hand found the one that was now on her cheek and intertwining their fingers made sure to demonstrate the veracity of her words.  She was there, she would always be there, he too.

"Yes, I know" And with that affirmative on his part, the female smiled and together with the light kiss that she placed on the hand of her husband was more than enough for a smile to be painted on his face as was customary.  They didn't need many words, they never had, even if they didn't speak sometimes, they both understood each other better than themselves.

Even if they were silent like now watching the twilight and all its splendor, there was no discomfort whatsoever.  Knowing that the hand held by the other was real was more than enough.  It was enough to be able to feel each other's breath, hear every beat of their heart, see every blink and every bright color that was in their eyes.  That word by which to call the other, showing that they were already a family, was enough.

And slowly with the sun that was setting and the moon that was rising, the brown color turned silver and the green red, slowly, so slowly that it seemed a lie that a few years ago that was a cause of fear or madness, but still if it wasn't like that anymore, still white was something fearsome for him, and Chizuru could feel it in the strength with which her hand was held every time this happened.  No matter how many years passed, he was still afraid of himself, but he was able to bear it, because he had her.  And if she could do anything in her power to ease that fear, even a little like the first time, to calm that racing heart ... she would give whatever was necessary.

Bloodlust was a rare thing that still happened after taking the water of life from the Yukimura Clan, but still there was enough to make him tremble every time he knew what it entailed.  Blood.  What he needed over and over again, blood, and not just anyone. He must take blood from the person he loved the most in the world, he had to hurt his most dear and precious person in the world, he had to endure seeing her hurt herself just because she wanted to protect him and because she loved him. He hated himself, but he was also not allowed to not carry out his wife's wishes.  What should he do?  He couldn't die but the times that he had to remember that he lived consuming a part of the being he loved most, he could not help feeling a pain stronger than that of any sword piercing his body.

But Chizuru understood.

If something she had obtained after giving that part of herself to keep him alive and close, it was precisely being able to understand his way of thinking, his emotions and every little change that she saw in his gaze.  She could read him like an open book in every little instant of doubt or fear and she was capable of being the answer to all of his problems.  She had become both his drug and his cure.

"Heisuke" As a soft whisper came out his name from her lips, for whom she now extended her free hand to the man who was lying on her lap and raised him to her height to be both seated facing each other.  Red staring into the brown eyes of the female.

As an invitation she smiled sweetly as the fireflies became the light of both together with the full moon that illuminated the sky.  An invitation that expected nothing in return was just there, with open arms waiting for him to take the first step.  Always waiting and willing to give everything she had.  It was painful to see up to a point for him.

"I can't ..." For the first time in a long time she saw him look away, for the first time in a long time she saw him make that face of suffering again and despite the fact that both of his hands had their fingers intertwined and held tightly she still felt his fear through his palm.  He couldn't keep doing that, he felt guilty over and over and yet she had never been able to completely eliminate that feeling.

After all, it was seeing her hurt herself over and over again as if he were the one asking her for that.  But for Chizuru that act was much more than he thought, for a while that act had completely changed its meaning, at least for her, and she must make him see that.

"Heisuke, look at me." Her sweet voice reached Heisuke's ears as that tone made it practically impossible for him to go against such a request, not intently, but still two small rubies fixed their gaze on her before closing again and swallowing, hard, his saliva threatened to either choke him or come out of his mouth.

"I-I can't even do that. If I look at you--"

"Tell me, Heisuke. Do you know why I give you my blood?  Do you know why I gave it to you from the beginning even with hundreds of corpses around us?  Why did I give it to you even when you didn't want it?" The directness of her words only surprised and touched something hidden in Heisuke's heart that he could only tighten his grip on the hands of his wife.  He didn't expect such questions so suddenly or such sincerity from his partner, she was definitely a box of surprises.

A single movement of the head and eyes was the signal Chizuru received to continue.  And so she did.

"The most obvious answer would be because I love you" He knew it, he had known it from the moment in front of the gates of that great castle when for the first time he lost control and when he recovered himself he was bathed in the blood of a crowd of corpses decorated around her.  He knew it from the moment he saw her standing there, even before when she had said that she wanted to be with him not just for a while, but forever.

He knew it from the moment he saw her cut herself and go against his will just because she wanted to show him something as simple as his 'tomorrow' He knew it as soon as her blood conveyed every little feeling that her mouth didn't say ...  Who would be able to cut themselves, hurt themselves and cause unnecessary pain just because of an acquaintance, just because of a friend?  She had no debt to him, she never had.  On the contrary, it was she who always saved him and said everything he needed to hear at the exact moment.

It was like spring that came suddenly and filled his sight with pink and blossomed beyond his eyes.  Chizuru was the truth among the lies that he had lived, she was the only hope and foothold he needed to know that he was there, breathing, alive.

Chizuru was the thread that sustained his existence, thin but at the same time unbreakable.

"But it's not just that, the reason why I offer you my blood is because I want us to share everything, because I don't want to leave you alone with suffering or agony, because even a little I want to understand the pain you are going through" The pause accompanied by a handshake as she brought both foreheads together was more than enough to encourage Heisuke to let out a little gasp and try to control the hateful cravings within him.  Now was not the time for it, he wanted to listen to the end, he had to.

Hear the voice of salvation from her.

"I want to share every moment of my life with you. Sadness, joy, health, illness, wealth and poverty.  Everything.  I want to share it with Heisuke, I do it because it's you, Heisuke" And as an incredible salvation like every day she had been able to illuminate the darkest night just with her words.  With just one word she could break through to his heart and rescue every little damaged part in seconds. That was the power of Chizuru "My Heisuke."

A certain someone had once said that how he could consider Chizuru a person, being a demon, how he could see her as a human ... but the girl who was hugging him, the warmth of the body that was surrounding him and the warmth of the delicacy of the hands that held his, encouraging him to go on and live, they were so much more than human.  There was no way that this overwhelming and pleasant heat wasn't human, there was no way that there wasn't a heart behind each of those acts even if it differed from her appearance.

"If you put it that way I ..." I couldn't do it.  That's what he meant, it would have been an appropriate answer, but the brown eyes that watched over his well-being and yearned for his company would not have allowed it.  Why did he doubt over and over again each time that he should do something they were both used to?

Slowly and taking a bit of determination trying to ignore that side that he wanted to die just for hurting her, he brought Chizuru's right arm to his mouth as usual.  It was at that moment that he noticed something and quickly backed away from her, releasing her completely to be greeted by that relaxed look again.  He had noticed the absence of a cut, the absence of blood coming out of some wound that he could consume without having to damage her skin himself.

The request of both her and his body was rising to places that he did not want to know and situations that he did not want to live, he already felt guilty enough to add one more thing to the list of crimes for which he blamed himself. There was no way that he would do such a thing no matter how needy he was, no matter how much he liked the taste of her skin or the uncontrollable sweetness of her blood or maybe both mixed with her touch as a smile blossomed on the face of the girl assuring him that everything would be alright--

For a moment he shut off his thoughts the moment her body blocked his vision and all he could feel was the intoxicating smell that the closeness of both gave off and his head resting on a bare shoulder secured towards the soft neck that was caressed for dark colored hair.

A strangled gasp didn't hold in his throat, he was sure he was reading Chizuru's intentions correctly, he was sure he was interpreting it properly, but he just didn't want to see it as an option.  Did she get to that point in her love?  If this was a test of confidence, it was the biggest he had ever had.  He knew it from the beginning, that unconditionally kind and disinterested side of the person he proudly called his wife, so much so that it even touched the limits of masochism or maybe that was the weight of her love.  A love so heavy that it could only be shared between two, without keeping anything and giving everything.

Then once more his attention was dissolved from his thoughts and focused on the warmth of the hug that enveloped him gently, a warmth that even the sun would be jealous of how kind and comforting it was.  A heat that seemed to drive him between the limits of sanity and insanity and tempted him to jump from side to side to make sure which way he felt best.  Only then, with a light caress from the hands that took over his hair, did a soft, melodious voice speak.

"You don't need to hold back, Heisuke." Chizuru knew what he was doing, from the tone of her voice and the firmness of the hands that held him, Chizuru was sure of her every step but nevertheless he was still afraid, he was afraid  to see the red that wasn't allowed.  But like magic again only the words of the girl with a name similar to the white of the snow were the salvation of him "I have seen everything of you, there is no way that the kindness you possess is clouded by something.  I have even seen what you haven't wanted to show me and what you are not proud of, so this time ...let me show you all of me."

And accepting the invitation of her words once more, slowly the hair that remained black was changing to lighter tones as teeth delicately made their way into the smooth skin and a little crimson thread like camellias gently sprouted.  There was no pain involved, or even if there was it was something they could overcome together, because after all love was not just happiness, but if there was really love it was worth it.

The delicate female hands tried to hold the person closer in their arms who eventually ended up laying them on the ground until they fell between the green leaves and were wrapped by the roots of the tree on both of them.  The green was eventually tinged with pink until it reached every far leaf and branch atop that giant's crown, as if the world affected by their love was more beautiful with every blink.

There was no complaint in the air and the delicacy with which the girl's neck was treated was so great that even the caress of the purest silk could envy him.  What began as a pure need and a test of trust ended up becoming the purest demonstration of love between them, giving gentle kisses until her wound healed and caressing every available part of his wife's body until kissing the way from her neck, jaw, ear, and be placing a soft kiss as a light caress on her cheek.

She was there for him and she would never leave him, only that was enough and only that he needed.  It was more than enough to know that the person in his arms, that the person intertwining her fingers with him, would be there forever.  Only then did he turn his red gaze fading green to the golden crystals that gazed at him with an overflowing love as the wind moved the little pink petals and the pair of silver hair.

"Hey ... Chizuru" The male voice that called her name for a second caught her full attention and that bright smile seemed to light up the night. "Don't you ... regret it?"  Choosing someone like me, broken...

He knew it was a stupid question, he knew that he would only get an answer that would soften his heart more and that an uncontrollable heat would take over.  He knew that the cherry blossoms that blossomed on both of them were one of the best answer she could give him, he knew that her body heat, her voice, her affection, the way her golden eyes looked at him and the delicacy with which both hands held him  as if it were the most precious thing in the world.  The sheer fact that she felt the need to show her true appearance in front of him was the strongest of all evidence but he still wanted to hear it from her lips.

But Chizuru wasn't going to settle for just repeating it to him one more time, she intended to take an oath beyond words and ended up taking his lips.  Softly, unhurriedly, bathed between the cherry trees and the silver of his hair, delivering the answer that her companion longed to hear, the answer he had never doubted from the moment the red and gold met. The answer that had found together.

"Never" And like a light caress again both came together in unison as the dance of pink and green tones blossomed over both of them, complementing each other again and again until the demon of the fleeting blossom became one with her loved one.

From now on they didn't need anything else, that link in bright red overlaid with cherry blossoms in their splendor was more than enough to bind their souls and every fiber of their body to their hearts.  From now on every little detail of life could be enjoyed, if they were together, if they were side by side, the darkest night would be as illuminated as the same day.  No matter what, as long as the sun goes down and the moon rises in the sky, forever and ever.

"I'll love you"
