day 3- possessed

Dipper marched out from behind the vending machine, looking determined as he stalked through the gift shop, headed up to the stairs. He'd just had a nice, lengthy conversation with Grunkle Ford about his sneaking suspicion that Bill had never truly left, leaving Ford to try and reassure him that the three-sided monster was definitely gone for good.

Of course, Dipper still doubted his uncle, what will all the motives he had, even though Ford was a world renowned researcher by now. In fact, just earlier that day, his breakfast had given him the right to worry. His bacon had spelt out "Cautioz", and even though it was spelt wrong, Dipper just assumed whoever had given him the message was probably dyslexic, so knowing him, he still freaked out.

Shutting the door to the attic, Dipper walked over to the small desk under the triangular window and pulled out his journal from a stack of books he'd been catching up on. He sat on his bed stiffly, flipping through the pages until coming across the isosceles dream demon and he scanned through all the warnings Ford's younger self had written. Dipper sighed, laying back on his bed, resting the broad book on his face and closing his eyes for a few moments.

When he lifted the book and glanced around groggily, Dipper had noticed small, yellow Bill eyes scattered around the room, tracking his every move. He got slowly out of bed, instantly more alert, hugging the journal tightly to his chest as he turned around to inspect his room.

"Hey, Pinetree!" An all too familiar voice called from around the rafters, the sound echoing through the attic. Dipper stiffened. "It's been a while since we've had a little fun, don't you think?"

The disembodied voice laughed, seeming to come closer until Dipper felt himself get shoved roughly from his own body. He seethed with anger, turning around and hovering above the ground, glaring at his currently possessed body. "Bill, I'm not in the mood," he growled.

Bipper laughed giddily and clapped his hands together. "Guess what?" He asked. "I don't care!"

The ghostly brunette gave a small sigh, knowing he'd have to trick Bill somehow into giving him his body back.

"Hey!" Bill spoke up all too enthusiastically, interrupted Dipper's thoughts as the demon rubbed his hands together. "Do you like light?"

Dipper furrowed his eyebrows. Trick question? Or rhetorical? He asked himself before answering, "Uh, yeah..."

"That's just dandy!" Bipper responded, snapping Dipper's fingers, causing the room to go dark. All the lights had turned off and ghastly Dipper had squinted around, wondering where Bill had gone, until Dipper's eyes caught sight of a small dancing light floating across his view.

"Er..." He trailed off, not quite sure what to say to get the demon to drop the whole act.

"English!" Bill chirped back in a highly annoying cheerful tone. "Say, what if I were to drop this precious light you love so much?"

"Um," Dipper tried again, floating closer to him. "I'd pick it up." Upon closer inspection, however, he quickly decided he wouldn't pick it up as the small light was a burning flame on the end of a match. "Actually, no, I wouldn't."

Bill laughed, the light twirling and creating faint circles as he tossed the fire carelessly, catching it each time without getting burned. "Way to use your head," he complimented, beaming in the darkness. "But if we're being honest here, I wouldn't pick it up either. And I am a bit clumsy..."

"Bill, if you're trying to prove a point somehow, can you just prove it already and get out of my hair?" Dipper sighed exasperatedly. "I mean, literally, get out of my hair?"

Bipper stole a sly glance up to Dipper, his smirk mischievous. "Prove it already?" He echoed, looking extremely cheerful. "Did I hear you correctly?" Dipper gave an uneasy nod, looking wary. He froze, his eyes widening as he figured out what Bill was about to do. "Bill, don't!"

But Bill had already dropped the small match, Dipper reaching out to grab it, not doing a lot as the flame went right through his essence and hit the floor of the attic.
