-+-Slowing Down (or is it speeding up?)-+-

Haruki trembled as he looked at what Haido was holding.

A locket necklace. The clasp was broken, and a family photo was in the windows of the locket.

"Tri....ed....to.....sa...ve....h.h...er.."

Haruki fell to his knees clutching the locket and sobbing. He felt arms around him and just clutched their shirt as they rubbed his back. He felt his chakra move. He wanted to see Hinari. His chakra snapped, draining rapidly, and nearby rubble blasted away.

He looked over and saw the crushed body of his sister. He ran over to her and pulled her into his arms. She was dead, barely recognizable, And he wailed.

Shikamaru winced. His leg was definitely broken. He hoped his kids were alright, as the attack had been pretty-

A sharp wail rang nearby, and the voice was familiar. His heart rate quickened and he used the shadows to splint his leg, limping through the rubble. "Haru!? Haru! Haru, where is-"

"Pup, Calm down. I'm trying to help heal your leg."

Shikamaru staggered, steadying himself against a broken wall. His little girl, his tiny angel, his daughter, laid in Haruki's shaking arms, bones shattered and some piercing her skin. She was dead. He could feel a river of tears streaming down his face, and he could barely stand.

How would Naruto react?

Oh god... Shikamaru turned away to throw up, sobbing silently. Anger was beginning to seep in, and he turned to the two children standing next to his children. "Take- take care of them. Get them to Tsunade. She-she needs to be fixed."

He wouldn't bury a mangled child. She'd be healed. He choked on a sob as he turned away. Shadows began to leap and dance as he limped through the rubble, anger beginning to overcome his grief.

Pein would pay.

Naruto appeared in the center of a crater. "Is this Konoha?" She wondered, looking around. There was a ring of rubble, surrounding the crater. People dotted the rubble, and Naruto turned her gaze to the orange-haired men surrounding him.

Five males, one female.

According to a message sent by Jiraiya, she needed to take out the one that could bring the others back. Naruto ran forward, her body wreathed in white flames. It was harder to use her bloodline in sage mode, as the flex of her chakra could break her hold over he nature chakra. She didn't want to turn into a fox, so she refrained from using it in combat.

She noticed a raging wall of shadows coming her way, and tried to access Shikamaru via the door. She tried to open it, but something was holding it shut. Shadows raced past her and towards the Peins.

She looked at her boyfriend. His skin was paler than pale, his hair mingling with the shadows. His eyes, which usually grew brighter when he used his bloodline, were flickering between his eyes and Yoru's mismatched eyes.

She saw grief and rage. "Shika!" His head snapped to her, and for once his eyes were a steady pain filled green. He was crying.

'Shika, talk to me...' She whispered through the door.

'Naru...." A wave of grief slammed ino her as the door opened, and she saw her daughters mangled body. Saw Haruki bent over her.

She threw up. A wordless scream left her as Kurama's rage flooded through her, and for once, she let it.

'Protect what I have left.'

"AND DESTROY WHO TOOK HER FROM US!"

Naruto felt her mind fade, and found herself in a familiar tunnel.

Kurama was in the seal, chakra coating the atmosphere thicker than miasma. His eyes were full of bloodlust, and he snarled at her.

"Remove the seal kit."

Naruto walked up and ripped the seal off. Her hand was caught as she was about to drop the dissolving seal, and her head jerked over to see the Yondaime, her father.

She punched him.

"I suppose I deserved that." Her father said. Naruto just hugged him, breaking down crying.

"Huh? Naruto, what's wrong?" Her father sounded so confused. Naruto dropped the seal and watched it dissolve.  Her father freaked.

"Naru-"

"He won't destroy the village Dad." She murmured hoarsely, choking on sobs. Her mother appeared as the seal finished dissolving.

"He won't... Naruto he's Kyuubi."

Naruto snapped. "Kurama won't hurt them!" Then she broke down again.

"What happened dattebane?!" Kushina Uzumaki put her arms around her daughter. "Why did you let the Kyuubi out? You'll die if he leaves. I'm surprised all he's doing is controlling you."

"He's not controlling me... I let him have control. I need to join him. We have to take Pein down."

Her parents looked confused. But how do you explain being raped at eleven, having a child at twelve, and getting kidnapped?

"Mom, Dad... How would you feel if I died the night of my birth?"

They both looked shocked. "We'd feel terrible. Losing a child has to be one of the worst pains a parent can feel. Why are you asking sweetie?"

Naruto looked up to her parent's brokenly. "My daughter was just killed. She's four." Tears cascaded down her whiskered face.

"Daughter....? But you look seventeen! You'd have been thirteen!" Minato exclaimed.

"It wasn't....planned. Trust me. But she's mine... and now she's gone. I was eleven. She was born December 2nd...."

Minato and Kushina held their daughter as they wept, Naruto for her loss, and her parents for not being there.

Shikamaru watched as Fox Sage Mode broke, and Naruto's skin burned off, her body morphing to that of the Kyuubi. All nine tails swished around, a thin thread of demonic chakra latching on to a small yellow fox.

Naruto.

"PEIN" The Kyuubi roared, pure rage and hate in his voice. Shikamaru saw all of the survivors shaking in fear. "YOU WILL PAY FOR KILLING HER!!"

Kurama lunged at the bodies, and Shikamaru bit his thumb and swiped it down his arm, which began to dissolve as he summoned Yoru at full size. The shadows swelled as the dragon towered just as tall as the Kyuubi.

In less than a minute, all of the Peins were destroyed and Shikamaru passed out as Yoru dissolved and his arm reformed.

The yellow fox turned back into Naruto as Kurama vanished. The blond woke up crying, a golden chakra flaring around her. She took off towards the forest. She could feel him. The real Pein. She wanted so badly to kill him and get revenge, but revenge wouldn't bring her daughter back.

She tore open the paper tree and stood there staring at the frail man. She didn't know what to do, what to say. Didn't know.

"Why?" She rasped, crying,. Her eyes ached, heart was torn, and she could feel herself shaking.

She barely listened as he went on about pain, and how the world needs to know it. Went on to try and justify what he'd done. Finally, Naruto interrupted him

"Are you happy now? I knew pain already. No parents, hated and hurt by my own village, raped at eleven. And you know what you just did? You killed my four-year-old daughter. You don't know how badly I want to walk up there and rip you apart! Losing a child hurts worse than any pain. It hurts in your very soul. I want to kill you... but even if I did she isn't coming back. You wanted peace! Jiraiya said that was your goal!! Look out over MY VILLAGE, and tell me if that looks like peace." Naruto's knees were shaking, all she wanted to do was curl up somewhere and cry.

Nagato looked out the rip and saw the rubble. Suddenly he didn't feel as justified. "I did it for peace." He said to reassure himself.

"That's not peace, won't result in peace. You just created another cycle of pain and hate. Peace is gained after war, after fighting, killing to protect. War is garnered from too much peace. It's a cycle. Eternal peace is impossible as long as humans live as they do. But hey, maybe I'll try for peace, and that starts with protecting what I care about and taking out Akatsuki and their pipe dream."

Nagato sighed, and looked at Konan. "I feel guilt now. I feel like what I did was wrong. What is it, this power you hold with words? I shall atone in hell with the shinigami to choose my fate." He did a series of handsigns, and murmured a jutsu. "Konan, do as you will, but she seems to be a kind leader to follow" He slammed his hands on the ground and collapsed. (Dis shit rushed as frick. I am doing it on purpose though so bear with this hell. It only gets worse XD)

Naruto finally fell to her knees clutching her stomach and sobbing. She didn't even move as her potential enemy put a hand on her back.

"Your daughter is alive now. Nagato sacrificed himself to return all life to those recently dead in the village."

Naruto's eyes widened, and she ripped the door open to let her thoughts mingle with Shikamaru's.

'Find her!'

"Thank you." She choked out, and she snapped her chakra, ignoring the drain as she pictured her daughters face. She collapsed next to her daughter and watched as her chest rose and fell, no trace of injury other than blood and torn clothes. Haruki was looking at the floor, crying, and Naruto hugged him close to her.

"Ka-kaasan! Hina..." Naruto shushed him and pointed to Hinari.

"She's alive. Pein restored the lives he took. She's alive Haru. She'll wake up any second."

The two sat there next to Hinari and waited, Shikamaru eventually joining them. They waited what seemed to be forever, but in reality, was three minutes.

Finally, her eyes opened, fast and wide, and she sat up fast. "Momma, Papa!" In less than a second, she was in her mommas arms. "Momma! I couldn' breathe! It hurt an' Haido-kun tried to save me! But th' groun' shook an' I slipped an'... There was a lady! She called herself Kami! There was lotsa people there! Momma, Papa, was I dead?"

Naruto smiled, watery and full of breathless relief. "Yeah. You were, but now you're not."

The family didn't move until Tsunade stomped over and crushed them into a hug.

Haido had died after Nagato used his jutsu. His injuries overcame him.

Naruto and Sasuke set out. They needed to get some answers. They had found a base of ROOT, soldiers led by Danzo. It was supposed to be disbanded. They had gone to Hiruzen and he had reluctantly told them that Itachi had been ordered under the pretense of his order, to kill the clan. He looked so tired and they thanked him and set out.

They had the rights to leave whenever they wanted, having travelers passes. They ran to the place they knew he'd be.

Itachi would come back to Konoha.

Shikamaru dodged a swiped of that damn scythe. He had been sent to investigate the massacring of small villages, and surprise surprise, two Akatsuki members show up. He had barely managed to catch Kakazu off guard, piercing all of his hearts (pure luck, he didn't know the guy had five hearts).

Now he was dealing with a man who couldn't die.

Troublesome.

He began forming a plan and sunk into the shadows, making sure to leave a shadow clone (Made of actual shadows). He reappeared in the Nara forest and began setting up his trap.

This would basically kill him.

Team Gai had a mission. Go to Kumo and declare a Kage summit. Then they encountered a hiccup.

Kisame Hoshigaki was fighting Killer Bee (Might type Kirabi from now sooo). They immediately jumped in to help, but the man was a berserker, and strong. His sword sucked up chakra like a vacuum, and eventually Gai and Rock Lee stayed to fight him with Kirabi, while Tenten and Neji ran ahead to report to the Raikage.

Messengers were being sent to the other four nations, with an announcement on information on Akatsuki.  Already the world was in motion, speeding up and leaving those who couldn't keep up behind.

Naruto rubbed her eyes tiredly, watching over the injured Itachi. That damn Tobi had come out of nowhere and had one-shotted all of them. Naruto had barely sensed it, and had barely managed to take the brunt of the attack. She had almost lost her arm, but it was worth it, as both Uchiha had lived, though Itachi was teetering on the edge. She would need to get them to Konoha as soon as her chakra recovered. She had already sent Oka ahead to tell Tsunade to prep for emergency surgery.

She winced as she shifted her arm. It was still healing. She hadn't been kidding. Her arm had been hanging on by a mere chunk of flesh. She had almost passed out from the shock alone. She had dressed their wounds as fast as possible, and one of her foxes, Numeji, was hovering over Itachi, doing his best to heal as much as he could.

"Rest Naruto-sama. I shall awaken you shortly." Naruto really didn't want to, but she knew her chakra would recover faster.

"Okay. I'll be fine for a jump in about half an hour, maybe less. " And she laid back, closing her eyes and passing out.

Itachi survived, and was recupurating.

Naruto got ready for the Kage Summit. She won't admit that she is terrified for her family, because Tobi had proven to be dangerous.

"Tch." And with that, he yoinked himself out the window.

"Hey... You ever think... Things could have been better, if we knew what was going to happen?"

"Yeah. But think. If I knew as far as this point, I wouldn't change it, even if I still got the trauma. I gained a daughter, whom I'd do anything for."

  "Hn."

If only I had been there.

He wouldn't have died.
