(Sapphire's Pov)
'BEEP BEEP BEEP '
I wake up to the annoying sounds of my alarm clock. Today's Monday so that means school or as I like to call it prison. School started up again two months ago and I already hate it. Luckily I'm a senior.

I get up from my bed and walk to the bathroom. I do my daily routine inside and come out feeling more tired.

I walk to my closet and look for an outfit. I put on my black and grey dress and grab my bag. I grab my phone and text my best friend in the whole world.

To: Amethyst
Hey Ames, are you almost here? I can't be late again.

From:Amethyst
Will you just chill? It's fine if you're late! I'll be there in a second.

I turn off my phone and slide it in my bag. Amethyst may be wild and crazy but she's an amazing friend. She was the new gem in town and everyone loved her. She was on her way to be one of the Populars.

Until she started talking to me. Something no one else dared to do. I was that freak in the corner that never showed my face. I always kept my hair over my eye because I was ashamed of it. She came to me at lunch and started eating like everything was completely normal! From that moment we became the best of friends.

'Honk! Honk!'

"Sapphire! Let's go!" Amethyst says and I smile. I run out of the door and hop in her car. It's pretty beat up and a little rusty but it takes us where we want to go.

"So Sapphire have the Pearls been messing with you again?" She asks me. I hate when she asks this. I get that she's worried about me but I can handle it.

"No. Now can we please drop it." I say and she looks at me. She pulls the car over.

"No we won't just drop it! I'm tired of them being jerks for no reason!" She yells.

"Well yelling at me won't help. Let's just get to school and forget about it." I say and she sighs. She puts the car in drive and we're off.

We pull into the school and I see the Pearls smirking at us. They are terrible but they are nothing like the Diamonds. You see our school has an order. The Diamonds are at the top along with Ruby and her girlfriend Emerald. The only reason the Diamonds are at the top is because their mother is the principal. Then it's the Pearls. After the Pearls it's Jasper, Peridot, and Lapis. Then it's the "Normal gems" . Then Amethyst. Next is the teachers and Principal. After them is the rest of the staff. After them is a garbage bin. Then a piece of gum under the desk. Last and certainly the least is me.

I cower under their gaze and I turn away. Amethyst pulls into a teacher's spot and we climb out. She's definitely getting detention. Again.

"Hey! If it isn't Sapphire!" Blue haired Pearl says. She looks me up and down. She giggles.

"What are you wearing?! Did you get that out of the garbage?" She says and the other's laugh.

"Hey!" Amethyst says and I pull on her wrist. I shake my head and she calms down. We ignore their laughing voices and continue into the school.

I go to my locker and put away my books and grab my Song Book for music. I love to sing but I only do it for the teacher.

'Ring!'

I hear the bell ring signaling that I'm late. I run down to the music room and open the door. I walk in to see the class is broken into groups and I go to where the teacher is sitting at her desk.

"I'm so sorry Ms. Quartz!" I say and she smiles.

"It's fine Sapphire. We've just started. I've broken the class into groups and you are in the group with Ruby, Pearl, and Amethyst. We will keep these groups the rest of the year so I tried to put you and your best friend together." She says with a little smile.

"Thank you so much." I say and I walk over to my group. Ruby was texting someone. Probably a . Pink haired Pearl is looking at me with disgust and Amethyst is glaring at her.

This is going to be a long year.
