(Ruby's Pov)

Sugilite, Opal, and I went with Lapis to the cabin while the others stayed with Sapphire and Peridot.

We couldn't keep Peridot and Sugilite together without Sugilite strangling her.

"Is this the place?" Opal asks Lapis as we stop the car in front of an old cabin.

"Yes. This is the place." She says. This gem is always telling the truth it's like she has an inability to lie. This morning she admitted to so much embarrassing stuff. I asked her when was the last time that she farted loudly in public. She said last summer in a city meeting with the mayor. So I trust her to tell us everything that she knows.

Sugilite steps out of the car and goes inside of the cabin. She gives us a thumbs up and we rush inside. Lapis runs to this carpet and she lifts it up. There's this small door with a latch on the floor. I pull on the latch and it opens up. A staircase is revealed and we go down it.

We look around when we reach the bottom to see these doors made of solid oak. I pull on the door but it doesn't open.

Lapis runs over and grabs a key. I unlock the door and it opens revealing...

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I try all the other cells but there all empty.

"Where are they?! I thought you said that they would be here!" Sugilite yells at Lapis.

"I'm sorry but I know that this is the place!" She says. I spot a piece of yellow paper sticking to the wall. I read it.

' We thought you'd try to find us! You're going to have to try harder than that to catch us! Don't even try going to the police for help! Jasper's family practically runs the prison! No officers would arrest the daughter of the infamous Mr. Biggs! Love- Morgan!'

I forgot about Mr. Biggs! He's the notorious gangster that ruled this city with an iron fist. Literally, he had a fist made of iron. Morgan's right. It would be stupid to arrest Jasper and have to deal with her family.

"What's that Ruby?" Opal asks coming to stand next to me.

"This note just made this whole situation a whole lot worse." I say and their shoulders slump. Sugilite sighs and I look over to see her move get sunglasses to wipe a tear.

"Sugilite. It'll be okay." Opal says.

"I just want my sister back. She's all I have!" She says in return. I really feel for her. It's hard to lose a sibling, I should know. I lost my little sis to a miscarriage. Her name was going to be Rubel. I still occasionally have nightmares about the day my mom told me that my sister was gone. All is a sudden this beeping starts up. A loud and annoying beep.

"What is that." Opal asks.

"I don't know but I don't like it!" Sugilite says.

"Let's just go and tell the others about this." I say weakly. This situation has me burned out.
They nod and we get back in the car. Opal starts up the car and we head back to the hospital.

When we reach the hospital we step out of the car and go inside. We walk through the front doors and the air hits us. We go straight to Sapphire's room to see that she's sleeping peacefully. Sardonyx and Rainbow Quartz are sleeping as well.

"Elegant, graceful, surgical, and powerful." Sardonyx says in her sleep and her hands fall down like she's swinging a hammer.

"Wow." I mumble to myself and go next to Sapphire. I gently wake her up and she looks up at me.

"Hey." I say.

"Hey. Did you find them?" She asks.

"No but don't worry! We will." I say and she nods. I turn on the tv and put it on the news. It seems like there was some explosion in the woods. I listen closely to the reporter.

"This is Rebecca Sugar reporting to you live! There seems to have been a massive explosion in the woods at this very location! It seems to have been caused by a bomb in the bottom of an abandoned cabin!"

That's all I needed to hear before I turn off the tv. The others turn to me. The television must've woken up Sardonyx and Rainbow Quartz.

"Ruby. Who exactly are we dealing with?" Rainbow Quartz asks.

"I thought I knew." I tell her.
